Recent Purchases Thread...

So there is a used video game store near my hometown so I dropped by and wanted to pick up NBA Street v3 for Xbox (backwards compatible). Bought it for $5, opened it, and it was just filthy, dried on soda and just crap all over the bottom of the disc. Brought it back in, and the owner spent an hour cleaning it for me while I went out for lunch. Got home, put it in "this disc is too dirty to run" or something....the xbox wasn't complaining since it was in the NBA Street text, but still, that sucks.

What was worse was I bought the Developer's Cut of Burnout 2 (again for $5). It runs great, but the disc wasn't the developer's cut.

Finally went to House Of Hoops at Footlocker and got a Chicago Bulls' jersey that I wanted,and of course,who else other than D-Rose's!!! (I was thinking of getting a BG7 one instead,but because the store which sells the Ben Gordon jersey is in another suburb,and also the jersey is from Champion,and not from adidas,like Rose's,I went with the latter...)


P.S. I also saw this one in the store,though there wasn't any one in my size left in stock...

$20 for Live 10, $25 for NCAA.

First off, holy shit, NCAA 10 is going for nearly $100 sealed, even though the online services were shut down for it last summer. As I was looking for the game a new auction went up with the $25 Buy It Now, I was previously looking at a resurfaced, scratched, copy that was at $30......

Yes, I have Live 10 for the PS3, but I noticed that the 360 roster file might be subjectable to hex editing....and with the Olympics coming up I know that it would be nice to have updated international rosters....if possible. And if I really want to push my luck, maybe I could figure out how to import NCAA players into Live's Dynasty mode as Rookies. Doubtful (especially with 2K12 on PC still eating my free time), but worth a shot.

Reminds me of the "Hey, read the manual!" and "Guess he was holding down the shoot button." lines in NBA Lives gone by. Kind of amusing the first time, but it detracts from the atmosphere and is just annoying thereafter.

I paid at least $250 for it just 3 months ago...

Turns out it's actually $135, I read the wrong thing on the rebate.

It was on Amazon for $150 plus $15 rebate. It's back up to $180 now. (There were 20 left when I bought, now it's down to 4.)

Reviews there say it's loud, but mine is pretty silent even when I had the case side off after putting it in. Case fans are far louder.

I know MSI has a shitty reputation for rebates but both times I've submitted for one with them I got it. Hopefully that streak keeps up.
