rebound tip-ins

Any of you guys have much luck pulling off this stunt? Each time I go after the boards in an attempt to rebound dunk or rebound tip-in, my guy just lunges head first into the air, missing out on the rebound altogether.

The AI seems to pull off this stunt with ease. Joakim Noah just got 14 points off rebound dunks.

Yep, I have the same problem, the AI can do it - on my team, or on the other team - but I can't do it myself. I leave it up to the AI though.
But I think rebounding is though in general. And Ridnour handles the rebounds better than milicic

Boxing out will help stopping them from the tips ins. Just like real life if you focus on the box out, the defensive boards will just fall into your hands. Offensive boards are quite tricky though.

The thing is, it often happens when you box out, other players aren't boxing out. So if the ball is not coming in my direction, the rebound will likely be for the opposing team.
And what also often happens, is smaller players jumping so high - and I'm not talking about Kryptonate ;) - that they get to the rebound above the taller defender.

Honestly, I think it is random and partially predetermined. You know when it is about to happen because the game slows downa nd the cameras start shooting off.

Also, I wish there was a better way of allowing certain AI controlled players to pull this off. I have seen players with verticals in the 40s and dunk ratings in the 40s pull this off. I wish we had a Tip Dunk/Layup Tendency. Not what we currently have which is based on what they do after they land after an offensive rebound.

Those low rated ones(and maybe all of them) seem to be scripted in a way. It could also be based on the offensive rebounding rating. I can always see the putback dunk coming for the cpu before it happens. I've done it in my player once.

The putback tendency is not necessarily a tip-dunk slider, but how often they try to go right back up after the rebound rather than kick the ball out and reset the offense.

Yea I know, I think we need a tip in and tip dunk tendency.

How have you been doing man? Haven't heard from you in a minute.

Doing fine, thanks for asking. Been playing lots of skyrim and in my second 2k12 my player season, waiting for the pc patch to start an association.

After talking to Rob and doing my own testing, it is not predetermined. The putback tendency is in fact how often they perform tip dunks/layups. I am finally getting only the people that I want tip dunking to perform tip dunks. It is a very good feeling. I wasn't too fond of Baby Davis doing tip dunks on my team.
