It was the 1st rematch for the Pacers against the team that ended there playoff dreams just a few months ago and the Conseco Fieldhouse was electric with a sellout crowd on there feet ready to see how there team would fare against the reining MVP
Derrick Rose and his Chicago Bulls team.
The Indiana Pacers were again without there starting point guard
Darren Collison, the Bulls also had there fair share of injuries too and the game got off to a fast pace with
Danny Granger and
Luol Deng matching basket for basket Indy did a great job of keeping Rose out of the lane forcing him to pass the ball which worked pretty well in the 1st half holding the star to just 6 points while Granger was on fire with 20, Deng had 16 for the Bulls.
With
George Hill in foul trouble and the Pacers having to turn to there back up
AJ Price to play major minutes the Bulls
Derrick Rose turned on the boosters and fired the Bulls to a 2nd half onslaught with Rose and Deng playing great D which lead to steals and then to easy baskets, Rose would finish up with 19 points and 5 assists a quite night to be far but he opened up the floor for
"Player of the Game" Luol Deng as he scored 8 4th quarter points to put this game out of reach for the Pacer comeback and would make the season series 1-0
As for the Pacers Granger ran out of steam scoring just 7 2nd half points after a blazing 1st half of 20 but center
Roy Hibbert did mount a comeback scoring 10 4th quarter points of his own to finish with 18 points and 2 blocks.
News around the nba today was that veteran center
Marcus Camby will retire at seasons end.
