It's funny, no one ever mentions the way Reggie Miller pushed Michael Jordan with TWO hands before hitting the game winning shot in Game 3 of the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals. Another double standard to take away from Jordan's accomplishments.

the reason fisher is this high is becuz there was only 0.4 secs left on the clock. i dont think anybody in nba history has made a basket with that little time left. fisher's shot deserves to be up there with the all time greats.

That's a good point actually, the Bulls did win the series so in the end Miller's shot didn't make as much difference, whereas MJ's shot in the NBA Finals sealed the championship. But the Pacers did come pretty close to toppling the Bulls in 7 games, something that may not have happened had Miller been called for an offensive foul and the Bulls gone up 3-0.

But it's the same old double standard, one of the most popular along with:

• MJ's six titles do not make him a great player as teams win titles, not individual players (yet Bill Russell is considered a great player as he won 11 titles in 13 years)
• MJ scores 69 points, he's a ballhog; Wilt scores 100, he's a dominant offensive player

Anyway, I apologise for wandering a little off-topic, but the shot did come up earlier in the thread. Back to the topic at hand...

Good points. I certainly acknowledge the importance of Fisher's shot and the difficulty, but a couple of those other shots were just as significant in their respective series, and not a whole lot easier. Gar Heard's shot in the 1976 Finals could probably have been ranked higher, for example.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't want to take anything away from Fisher's shot or this year's playoffs. It's not a matter of bringing down the accomplishment, just a matter of acknowledging some of the others throughout NBA history.[/list]

Not only that, also lets not forget that Duncan made a impossible jumpshot with to give the game 0.4 seconds left to get a 1 point lead, which would most likely mean a win for the Spurs, but still winning the game in 0.4 seconds is just simply amazing, I doubt ESPN would rank this shot this high if it wasnt for Duncan to make his shot in the first place
