Game 3 - Nov 5th 2011
Magic go 3 - 0
After the prestigious victory against the Miami Heat, the Orlando Magic faced another Division rival, the Washington Wizards.
The Magic controlled the Game early on and build up a 11 point lead already at the first half. Dwight Howard again had a strong night- 23 points 15 rebounds and 8 assists, with this performance Howard was finally named Player of the Week.
Another strength by the Magic was their three point shooting. Orlando sinked 12 threes with a percentage of .400.
The Wizards started the season 0-2, they have a really strong Division to survive with teams like the Magic, Heat and the Hawks.
Despite a true team effort Washington could not resist. Young, Blatche and Wall all above 20 points was not enough to beat Orlando tonight.
The Wizards are getting their next chance on November 11th when they face the Magic at Amway Center in Orlando.

Game 4 - Nov 6th 2011
76ers hand Magic first season loss
The Orlando Magic lost their first regular season game against a multifarious 76ers team. Led by Jrue Holiday Philadelphia played effective team basketball throughout 4 quarters, having six players in double digits.
On the Orlando Magics side it was once again Dwight Howard with a tremendous performance, 23 points 16 rebounds and also 4 blocks after the end of the night.
Despite the Magic shot 16 out of 32 threes it was noch enough to beat the 76ers. One reason for that the effort on the boards by Philadelphia, a deficit of almost 10 boards was just too much.
The Magic now have some time to rest until they play the Jazz on November 9th at Orlando.

Journeyman John Salmons back in Chicago
After just 10 Games with the Sacramento Kings Salmons was traded to the Bulls in exchange for Watson and Korver. Salmons was drafted by the Spurs in 2002 before he was traded to Philadelphia. From 2006 Salmons joined the Kings until he was traded to the Bulls in 2009.
After that he played one season with the Bucks before he was traded once again, just to be traded another time back to the Bulls.
We all hope he might settle down now and have an impact for the Bulls from the bench. Salmons is going to wear number 34 as his common number 15 is already worn by John Lucas.

Magic drive Spurs to desperation in 4th quarter
Magic - 108

Jason Richardson came to play -
in a contested Game across 4 quarters the Orlando Magic beat the San Antonio Spurs by 8 points. Jason Richardson who has his best season since 5 years was once again one of the key performers this night in San Antonio. Richardson had 25 points combinded with 5 assists and 5 steals.
This time it was also the Magic bench who had a bigger impact to the Game, to mention Q. Richardson with 9, Ryan Anderson with 8 and J.J. Redick with 7 points.
The Spurs who just had an average start into the season despaired in the last minutes. Neither Parker nor Ginobili could score to keep up with the Magic. Ginobili with 37 points was the only part of the Big Three who was able to step up.
Tony Parker had only 14 points tonight.

Magic stumble - but no fall
Magic - 93
Bobcats - 89
In their second of a two game roadtrip the Orlando Magic defeated the Charlotte Bobcats in a close game by 4 points. The Bobcats which should not to be underestimated having a 6-6 record this season - defeating teams like the Heat and Knicks.
Charlotte played good defense and were very effective in scoring with Maggs, Henderson and Kemba Walker.
The Bobcats managed to keep the Magic below 100 points two times this season. However in both games it was not enough to take the win. The Magic already won the season opener 91-85, as a Division rival both teams will face up two more times this year.
In a back to back Game the Magic will face the Toronto Raptors tomorrow and try to finish their first 5 Game winning streak and achieve their 10th season victory.

Raptors upset Magic
Raptors - 111
Magic - 96
The Toronto Raptors prevented the Orlando Magic from gaining their first 5 game winning streak this season. Leandro Barbosa and Jose Calderon cooled off the Magic leading the Raptors to a 15 point victory.
It all started in the second quarter when the Magic were not able to hit the basket anymore. Orlando shot only .333 percent from the floor throughout the second and third quarter. The Raptors even had a 23 point margin to the beginning at the fourth quarter.
Orlando tried to strike back and overcome this huge deficit with better ball movement and shot selection, but it was already to late.
The Magic have now time to rest until they face their SE Division rival number one, the Miami Heat. Orlando is looking for the 10th season win and also try to stay unbeaten against Division opponents.
The game is held on Nov 29th at Amway Center.

This was truly one of the most competetive and contested games i played so far. I really wanted this victory after the annoying loss towards the Raptors the game before.
Fighting all game long against an overwhelming superior Heat team. Always chasing the margin and never able to go ahead with a certainty score advantage.
The Heat came up with 15 steals which meant 17 turnovers on my side, i can't remeber i had so much turnovers in any game. The only thing that kept me alive was the superiority on the boards.
My idea was to score in the paint with Dwight Howard and Glen Davis. This worked very well as both were on tonight scoring 35 and 18 points. The Heat were deadly with Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh.
In the last minutes of the game i had a little advantage on the scoreboard, i just tried to keep the ball moving and don't commit any turnovers. I still managed to get some baskets but the Heat always stayed in range to knock me out.
On the last possesion i was finally ahead by 3 points, the Heat get LeBron James the ball who decided to put up a very contested three pointer. LeBron airballed it and the victory was mine.
This was really one of the best and craziest games i played for a long time, already looking forward to the next Magic vs. Heat matchup.

Magic plunder Knicks at MSG
Magic - 114
Knicks - 95
With a healthy Baron Davis the New York Knicks managed to get a 9-5 season start winning 8 out of their 9 home games so far. Due to this record it was very unlikely what happened against the Magic.
The Knicks struggeled on defense but also on offense, Melo and Stoudemire had both only 16 points this game. Baron Davis was the Knicks best scorer with 21 points and also 9 assists.
The Orlando Magic finished a successful month with this victory over the New York Knicks. The Magic are 2nd in the Eastern Conference behind the Boston Celtics (12-2) and tied with the Bulls (11-4).
It was once again Dwight Howard who took the game on his shoulders early, Howard scored 26 points and 14 rebounds.
Hedo Turkoglu had a season high with 26 points, Hedo needs to justify his huge contract it is likely that he will be traded before the Trading Deadline in February.

Magic blow out Nets
Magic - 103
Nets - 90
The Orlando Magic continue their winning streak by blowing out the New Jersey Nets at Amway Center. Despite the New Jersey Nets have a decent season record with 8-8 games they could not keep up with the Orlando Magic.
Deron Williams was the Nets best scorer with 27 points. Brook Lopez showed a solid performance with 17 points and 11 boards, but it revealed the gap in class between him and the most dominant Big Man in the league Dwight Howard.
Lopez is a very talented player on the Center position and a designed All Star caliber, but yet some pieces missing to keep up with Howard.
D12 to team up with D-Will?
It is no secret that Dwight Howard is flirting with the idea to team up with Deron Williams next offseason and leave the Magic in Free Agency.
As long as he does not extend his contract the Magic are in a quagmire to hold on him or try to trade him before the deadline.
The Nets on the other side just have to be patient and sit out the situation. They are not on the turn , they are not forced to do a trade when they have a chance to aquire Howard via Free Agency next summer.
Lopez v. Howard - could they change jerseys sometime?

Magic start roadtrip with a W
Magic - 96
Nuggets - 80
The Orlando Magic defeated the Denver Nuggets easily by a 16 point margin. With an already 20 point lead at the half the Magic could take a rest and maintain their advantage.
The Nuggets did not hit anything, only 39% from the field and a poor rebounding effort sealed the loss. Nenê almost disappeared in this game, 8 points and 7 rebounds he should have done better than this.
An important win for the Orlando Magic, they started a five game roadtrip including games against the Jazz, Suns, Lakers and Thunder. It is going to be a tough one, but to start with a win is always a confidence builder.

Jazz did it again
Magic - 104
Jazz - 107
The Utah Jazz prevented the Orlando Magic to reach their first 5 game winning streak this season. Utah played good team basketball having 5 players into double digits. C.J. Miles and Devin Harris were the Jazz' best scorers with 25 points.
Orlando commited to many turnovers, because of that the Jazz had many fastbreak opportunities to make easy baskets. It was already the second loss against the Utah Jazz this year, in their previous meeting the Jazz took the game in Orlando outscoring the Magic 97-94.
Despite this loss the Magic still have a solid road record with 6-2 wins. Next will be the Phoenix Suns at US Airways Center.

Magic power past Suns
Magic - 103
Suns - 92
Magic dominate the Suns in a onesided victory. Afte the loss against the Jazz two days before , the Magic were able to rehabilitate against a struggeling Suns team.
The Phoenix Suns who did two major trades just before the Magic game looked uncertain and non-threatening. The Suns send Marcin Gortat to the Cavaliers in exchange for Gee and Hollins. They also aquired Corey Maggette and D.J. White from the Charlotte Bobcats for Jarred Dudley and Josh Childress.
With a 6-13 record the Suns already flirt with a lottery pick this year , maybe to aquire Stoudemire 2.0 - Andre Drummond.
