I believe he was just responding to Thierry's comment that he needs be more active. Naturally I think mentioning his own Association was overkill but he's new so giving the benefit of the doubt.

Dmastawwe, Cruzerr is right that the comments about your Association probably should go in the How Is Your Association Going thread. Try to keep on topic. If you want to be in Thierry's next draft class, I would suggest continuing to read and comment on his Association.

I'm looking for the Suns to trade Childress now. Yeah, simmed. There were a couple of deals (despite I have CPU Trades -- OFF)...
I just reversed them... Jeremy Lin and the 2nd pick for Andray Blatche

Yep, I made him compared to LeBron. And about the draftee -- of course, check Page 4 for the application and I'll tell you what teams are available.

I don't know... as I wrote, Thaddeus Young is a free agent and he always end up signing somewhere else. So, it's a good pick at the end. Lai, Iggy and Turner.

Nope, I have your application for the next draft.

Paradise Garage [S02] ♦ NBA DRAFT 2011 (Picks 16-30) ///

Postby kibaxx7 on Thu Jul 28, 2011 2:46 pm

    Image
      Position(s): PG | Height: 6'2'' | Weight: 192 lbs. | Age: 21 | School / Team: Oklahoma | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 12.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, 6.9 assists

With the sixteenth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks select Zach Pollard. One of the biggest question marks in the weeks leading up to this draft was why this former Oklahoma guard refused to work out for teams. Mystery solved: Pollard appears to have had a first-round guarantee from the Knicks. The 6-foot-2 point guard is an excellent athlete and an improved ball distributor, but he seems to fill a role already occupied in New York by Raymond Felton -- who has made the pick-and-roll with Amar'e Stoudemire his bread and butter -- and Toney Douglas. Something’s gotta give. Everyone has the feeling that the Knicks and owner James Dolan aren’t quite done yet; Douglas, Wilson Chandler and Anthony Randolph have been mentioned in trade rumors for the past month.

    Image
      Position(s): PF-C | Height: 6'10'' | Weight: 235 lbs. | Age: 23 | School / Team: Seton Hall | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 16.9 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists

With the seventeenth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Indiana Pacers select Evan Cartwright. The player with whom Evan is most often compared will be his teammate next season: the bigman from Seton Hall is going to Indianapolis, which means he’ll be in the same frontcourt as Serge Ibaka. It would not be safe to say that Cartwright will have as exciting a career as Ibaka, but his shot-blocking abilities and mid-range shooting suggest there are things that are very similar. Good pick-and-pop player. He rebounded very well in college, averaging a double-double, so the Pacers executives are hoping that translates over. He still has some growth and must get stronger to get constant playing time, as he will battle Ibaka and Tyler Hansbrough in the PF slot.

    Image
      Position(s): PG-SG | Height: 6'2'' | Weight: 191 lbs. | Age: 22 | School / Team: Illinois | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 18.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists

With the eighteenth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Memphis Grizzlies select Andre Cowen. You can tell the ESPN commentators ain't wild about a pick when they say, "This is a little bit of a surprise." Indeed it is a surprise that Memphis would select Cowen this high in the draft, considering the former combo guard from Illinois was considered a 25-30th pick at best in the last couple of days; his draft stock was going down. Andre would have benefited very well from another year of farming in college... instead he’ll have to serve as the third point guard for the Grizzlies since the team has Michael Conley and Nate Robinson sharing the playmaking duties. Another head-scratcher. If one of them goes down, Cowen's 3-point shooting will come in handy for head coach Lionel Hollins: only worse to Leo Lai and Julian Martin.

    Image
      Position(s): SF | Height: 6'8'' | Weight: 210 lbs. | Age: 22 | School / Team: Georgia Tech | Country: Estonia
Key statistical averages: 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists

With the nineteenth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Washington Wizards select Martti Must. History has been made: Martti will be the second Estonian player to play in the NBA since Martin Müürsepp and is also the highest draft pick from Estonia. The 6-foot-8 wing can hit the occasional jumper and has the ability to get to the rim and finish in traffic, but his biggest asset is his defensive play. Think an international Bruce Bowen or Shane Battier, and he's also a strong rebounder. Must had been slated to go somewhere in the early to mid-first round by numerous mock drafts, but slipped to the late first-round for unknown reasons. He looks poised to join the Wizards starting backcourt, alongside John Wall and Gilbert Arenas, but this creates an interesting battle at the position with Al Thornton.

    Image
      Position(s): SF-PF | Height: 6'9'' | Weight: 210 lbs. | Age: 20 | School / Team: FC Barcelona (Spain) | Country: Spain
Key statistical averages: 14.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists

With the twentieth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets select Mauricio Caballero. And with this pick, the Spain trio is gone in the first 20 picks (Caballero, Alex Blevessi at 1st and Predrag Rodic at 3rd). Some mock drafts had Caballero dropping into the first picks of the second round, but obviously the Rockets felt confident that his success as a mid-range shooter and athletic marvel would translate to the NBA, despite a lack of elite rebounding skill for his size. An under-the-radar Spaniard, Mauricio will try to follow the formula of fellow countrymen like Pau Gasol and Jose Calderon in Houston. But that will be hard; he has the abilities to become a solid role player, if nothing more -- that's probably his ceiling.

    Image
      Position(s): PG-SG | Height: 6'4'' | Weight: 165 lbs. | Age: 22 | School / Team: Kentucky | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 11.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 6.7 assists

With the twenty-first pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Atlanta Hawks select Jeff Williams. As a result of Pollard going to New York and Cowen to the Grizzlies, the Hawks felt like they needed a point guard -- another questionable decision, with Mike Bibby, Luke Ridnour and Jeff Teague on board. This pick has "Bibby out" written all over it... if that's the case, it's an insurance pick for the future. Williams was overshadowed by teammates like Darnell Dodson and Josh Harrelson, but the 6-foot-4 point guard quietly had a brilliant season being a constant triple-double threat. If he wants to succeed in the league, he will need to gain more weight. He looked happy landing in Atlanta... that is if Bibby leaves, or he won't see much action.

    Image
      Position(s): SF-SG | Height: 6'7'' | Weight: 226 lbs. | Age: 23 | School / Team: Vanderbilt | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 12.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists

With the twenty-second pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Utah Jazz select Preston Burks. Burks told ESPN that his goal for draft day was “to play on a good team.” The 46-win Jazz qualify on that and he can help the team improve on that win total even more, as he is maybe one of the best all-around players of this class. This "master-of-none" skill set allows to count on him into a number of different roles offensively, many of which blur the lines between the small forward and shooting guard spots, as the swingman he is. Perhaps, he needs to get stronger and a little more aggressive in his rebounding. Utah now boosts three small forwards, all of them no more than 24 years old: C.J. Miles (24), Gordon Hayward (21) and Burks (23).

    Image
      Position(s): PF-C | Height: 6'9'' | Weight: 234 lbs. | Age: 21 | School / Team: Memphis | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 11.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 0.9 assists

With the twenty-third pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Dallas Mavericks select Carlton Perkins. So far, the biggest steal of this year goes to the Mavericks. The direction Perkins moved is not something he was probably happy about; the ex-Memphis bigman was looking like a lock to be selected in the lottery, perhaps no lower than the 17th or 18th pick, bus as he dropped down the draft board, his value rose. Mavs general manager Donnie Nelson likes the fact that Carlton, a superb rebounder and a tower in the inside, will be heading to Dallas with a large chip on his shoulder. Whether his athleticism or "uncoachable" attitude caused him to slip down, the fact that he'll be hungry to prove doubters wrong bodes well for coach Rick Carlisle and the rest of the team roster. Watch out for him.

    Image
      Position(s): SF-PF | Height: 6'8'' | Weight: 231 lbs. | Age: 21 | School / Team: Cincinnati | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 15.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists

With the twenty-fourth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls select Bill Blake. Chicago was one of the best defensive teams in the league last season under head coach Tom Thibodeau, but getting more defensive is never a mistake. At 6-8, Bill can defend almost anyone. He's not a very good shooter, but when the team needs offense, he's there -- most of his averaged 16 points came in the paint. He is versatile enough to defend in the paint or on the perimeter, and he's a menace in the passing lanes, always looking for steals. Bottom line, even if he never develops a consistent offensive skill, his defensive prowess will earn him a spot in the Bulls roster. Great pick by general manager Gar Forman.

    Image
      Position(s): PF-C | Height: 6'9'' | Weight: 268 lbs. | Age: 23 | School / Team: Kansas State | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 13.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists

With the twenty-fifth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder select Corey West. Great pick from OKC; team's fans should be ecstatic right now. West's work ethic and rebounding will translate to the NBA game from day one, being able to help the team right away, next to Jeff Green and Cole Aldrich in the frontcourt. Standing only 6'9'' with shoes on, Corey is going to give you 150 percent every play of the game. One would go out on a limb and say he has an energy tank attached to his body. In addition to being a monster rebounder, he is also an interesting defensive prospect, who seems to take pride on that side of the floor. The only question mark that leaves West is his offensive skill set: when it comes to creating his own shot, he's invisible; but the Thunder have Kevin Durant for that. Leave Corey in the glass and see him explode.

    Image
      Position(s): SG-SF | Height: 6'7'' | Weight: 205 lbs. | Age: 21 | School / Team: Connecticut | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 16.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists

With the twenty-sixth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics select Zee Otoo. Another NLSC Academy prospect in the draft board. The happiest draft pick of the night had to be former Connecticut swingman Otoo; yes, he went down from most mock drafts, but "playing alongside Paul Pierce and Ray Allen is too good to pass up", in his own words. Zee earned a well-deserved reputation alongside NBA scouts because he has all the tools you want in a swingman. He has a smooth jump shot and uncanny vision for a player his size; he even posted a triple-double with the Huskies. If he could give a consistent effort on defense and be less turnover prone, he could be another steal. Props to coach Doc Rivers.

    Image
      Position(s): SF-PF | Height: 6'9'' | Weight: 229 lbs. | Age: 20 | School / Team: USC | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 13.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists

With the twenty-seventh pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic select Adrian Miles. Miles shows a very interesting mix of size and shooting ability at 6'9'', being capable of putting the ball in the net both with his feet set or off the dribble. He has a very quick release on his jumper; combine that with his height and unlimited confidence in his scoring skills. That makes him a dangerous weapon to have out on the court. Issues around him would be about his ability to guard, especially out on the perimeter; and also his playing time, as Orlando already features Rashard Lewis, Quentin Richardson and Ryan Anderson. Picking a point guard would have made much more sense here; another questionable selection.

    Image
      Position(s): PG-SG | Height: 6'3'' | Weight: 194 lbs. | Age: 21 | School / Team: Villanova | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 13.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists

With the twenty-eighth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers select Kevin Johnson. And this is how Orlando tied a pretty red bow on a gift box for Phil Jackson's team: Villanova point guard Johnson. This couldn't be better for the Lakers, as Derek Fisher retired last month and Steve Blake was the only true point guard in the roster. He has a quick first step, a solid mid-range game and also a great rebounder for his size. He’s someone who can score in bunches off the bench. Jackson should wonder if Johnson will be able to get away with some of the things that he did with the Wildcats: his shot selection, the tunnel-vision he shows. If he does, then this pick will be better than expected.

    Image
      Position(s): C-PF | Height: 7'1'' | Weight: 262 lbs. | Age: 21 | School / Team: Fenerbahce Ulker (Turkey) | Country: Ukraine
Key statistical averages: 14.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, 0.8 assists

With the twenty-ninth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the San Antonio Spurs select Artem Popov. Finally the time for the Spurs to pick! The team now has eight players in the frontcourt: Tim Duncan, Drew Gooden, Matt Bonner, Tiago Splitter, DeJuan Blair, James Gist, Marcus Cousin and Popov. On a quick glimpse, this selection says general manager R.C. Buford has a trade on the works, as he got the player he wanted from the beginning: a constant double-double poster with Fenerbahce, Artem is a true 7-footer (7'1'', to be precise), and presents some intriguing skills. He is a proven rebounder and shot-blocker, and can contribute on the glass right away, as a backup for Timmy and Blair, as his stamina is a weakness. This first year looks for him to get used to the rotation. Gooden and Bonner seem to be out of the AT&T Center in any moment.

    Image
      Position(s): C-PF | Height: 6'11'' | Weight: 267 lbs. | Age: 20 | School / Team: Marquette | Country: United States
Key statistical averages: 12.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists

With the thirtieth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Miami Heat select Theo Barrett. Another guy who eats rebounds for breakfast. With the retirements of Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Juwan Howard, this was a lock for the Heat. There were thoughts that Miami would take advantage of one of the big names, like NLSC Academy prospect Jesrie Calimbas, that slipped down, but it looks like the front office had their minds set on a big and they got it. Barrett was one of college basketball's most versatile bigmen last year, with creativity and a high basketball I.Q. under the hoop, also blocking a ton of shots. He can run the floor very well and is an excellent athlete, but lacks strength for his size and struggles in the defensive end. He might end up absorbing personal fouls, much like DeSagana Diop did in his time with Dallas.

I feel like I've been taken by Boston a few other times in other stories.

Seriously, Boston really did get a steal. Hell, they've basically built their future on draft steals: me and Rajon Rondo. :cheeky:

Yeah, I'll try to trade Bibby away. You and Teague make a nice young combo.

So far, yes it is. Dallas also got a steal in Perkins.

Also Delonte West is out of the team, so you'll get more playing time behind Ray Ray. (Y)

Later -- a quick 2nd round review (all 30 picks) and some of my plans going to free agency. I want to start this ASAP!
