Does it crash to desktop or does it freeze and then crash? CTD is immediate. If it's the former, well, you're SOL(I think), because that's happened to me in over a dozen associations. But it usually happens after 4-5 seasons during the draft/workouts.

No, to be precise, it's not a crash. Stern announces a pick and then I can't press any buttons. Stern keeps moving but nothing happens. Only way out is closing the game. I remember reading some guy who had this problem too, but couldn't find it.

With the first pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors select Alex Blevessi. Great pick by the Raptors: drafting the best talent available over need. You always take the best player available, and Alex fits that mold. He is a small forward, also capable of playing some power forward, out of Switzerland and will be taking his talents to Canada. General manager Bryan Colangelo had to decide between the Swiss and Purdue's bigman Scott Ross, who now looks certain to join Golden State. Ultimately, Toronto went with the safer of the two picks, selecting the player that has a definite position in the NBA and will be a solid foundation for this team moving forward; with this, Colangelo's love story with international prospects continues.

Blevessi possesses all of the tools to become a elite player in the league. He has the necessary size and quickness to guard most of the power forwards. While he may lack an important attribute such as free throw consistency (we all know LeBron has this same issues), he does most things very well. His passing is well above average and has the ability to drive to the basket and finish with either hand. Along with Barbosa and DeMar DeRozan, the Raptors now look scary in the guard slots. Blevessi has the potential to be better than both of them, so how the Raptors and the coaching staff deal with this will be interesting to put an eye on.

With the second pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors select Scott Ross. Ross can be very explosive; gets up to the rim quickly and knows how to dunk. Every time he comes down the lane, you could say he gets an athleticism boost. The Warriors now have a freakish athletic forward position with Ross and Dorell Wright. Scott can also move the ball and move without the ball even more. You can probably use him as a quicker option against most power forwards; but the most interesting question is whether his home will be on the perimeter or in the paint.

Coach Keith Smart is (hopefully) not going to take minutes away from a good prospect like Ekpe Udoh by trying to fit Ross, Wright and also David Lee into the lineup. Now, only one player in Golden State's roster is 30 years old or higher: Charlie Bell, at 32. Unless the team can bring another legit veteran in free agency to bring the squad closer to the playoffs, general manager Larry Riley should continue with this plan: acquire assets that may be more valuable down the road. Ross' potential makes him one of these assets; along with Udoh, he could become something integral to the Warriors team. Not to mention, a Stephen Curry-Monta Ellis-Ross backcourt will surely become one to watch.

With the third pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Detroit Pistons select Predrag Rodic. So far, everything is going accordingly to the Mock Drafts. You’ve got to like what Predrag brings to the table: he only played one year with Valencia in Spain, but he sure made that season count. His footwork and scoring made him (along with Blevessi) look like a man among boys in the Euroleague, as both were named to the tournament's best starting lineup. Athleticism is the Serbian's calling card right now, as it allows him to crash the offensive glass effectively. He averaged 4.9 rebounds per game (kind of low for a 6'9'' guy) but 2.7 of them were on offense. This also makes him an intriguing pick-and-roll partner for Will Bynum or J.J. Barea; he likes to finish with ferocious dunks that pump up the crowd.

Then his quickness makes him a menace on the defensive end; runs the floor hard and fights for position. Offensively, he can do it from in and out. He's a 6'9" combo forward and weighs in at 227 pounds. Due to this athletic gifts but his low level of overall skill, Predrag should considered a long-term prospect. There's no doubt he has the potential to be a very solid forward in the league for Detroit -- that is if he develops a little more on defense and his charity stripe shooting; he got to the free throw line frequently, however he only shot below 60% when there. Then, the Pistons already have a young player in Austin Daye; both are still on development and will be part of the rotation for the Pistons very soon.

With the fourth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers select Willie Lewis. And this makes the first surprise of this year's draft; Lewis was rumored to go no higher than sixth overall in numerous mock drafts, so the fact he is on the board after only four picks is a surprise. Take back surprising -- make it a head-scratching pick, considering the Cavs have Mo Williams, Chris Duhon and Daniel Gibson taking the playmaking duties. But GM Chris Grant took the "best talent available" route and now a trade is on the works; this would make his second point guard shipped out of the squad in four months, as Duhon was acquired from Orlando in the last trade deadline, in exchange for another PG, Ramon Sessions. Cleveland made Lewis the first point guard taken, ahead of former NLSC Academy members Will Sit and Chris Hova.

A definite combo guard, but with better point guard skills -- despite his weight -- , Grant apparently is confident Lewis is a good fit, despite his efficiency leaves something to be desired and he only shot 40.7% from the field. But, pros win over the cons: Willie can penetrate the defense and get into the paint easily; usually makes good decisions in fast-break opportunities and thrives in high-pressure situations. Down the NCAA Tournament road, he proved to be an unselfish passer, looking to keep his teammates involved. If he is to start, one thinks he'll form a solid backcourt, at shooting guard, with Williams and highflyer Jamario Moon.

With the fifth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Clippers select Johnny Grady. You've got to give Clippers general manager Neil Olshey credit: they got the guy they wanted all along. From the very beginning, they zeroed in on him. Despite having their intentions clear, they got Johnny without having to trade up for him, as he was projected to go to the Cavaliers at No. 4. But, being honest, it was an important decision to make as two of their best alternatives to Grady -- Virginia Union's Andrew Ferguson and BYU's Edward Carr -- are yet to be picked. The only other serious candidate the Clippers looked at with the pick was New Mexico's Valminton Silva, but looks poised to tumble all the way to a No. 11 or No. 12 pick.

The biggest issue with Grady is whether he can learn the skills he needs to be successful in the NBA. We all know about his defensive problems and his awful free-throw shooting -- serious issues. But there are some positives he brings to the squad: he constantly made good decisions while on the court -- his basketball I.Q. is better than the bigman average -- and also his ball-handling skills are admirable. He was a constant double-double threat in college. I don't think the coaches are concerned about whether he can take a guy one-on-one and score; that's not going to be his role. Clippers fans should be thrilled thinking of Baron Davis and Johnny running the fast break for years to come; along with Blake Griffin and Chris Kaman -- not to mention the up-and-coming DeAndre Jordan -- the Clippers now have one of the best frontcourts in the Western Conference.

With the sixth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Bobcats select Will Sit. The Bobcats picked a small playmaker only three years ago in D.J. Augustin -- and they traded him to New Jersey this last season. So, a player that was projected as high as 9th, goes to the Bobcats with the sixth selection. He has shown that he can do just about anything offensively with the ball last year with the Blue Devils; he will be attempting to transform into a true point guard in the NBA. Despite his body (6'0'', 185) he played numerous minutes at the shooting guard spot with Duke. This, in a combo guard skill set, can be very difficult to predict in the NBA, especially when you’re undersized, but Will showed enough brilliance in his days at college to be considered a top 10 prospect.

As said, he's often knocked about his size, but has proven that he plays much bigger than his frame should allow him to. He can go coast-to-coast on the break as well as any guard in this draft, fitting in with the team's running style. With Augustin gone, Sit will be put into a situation in Charlotte where he can have plenty of opportunities to score, and don’t be surprised if you see Sit and Shaun Livingston on the court at the same time. His ability to stop and start suddenly -- and with that, separate from defenders easily -- is a tremendous skill, and Will also has a tremendous personality. He’s very mature, accepting tough coaching from Mike Krzyzewski last year. Solid selection; he'll surely lead Charlotte in years to come.

With the seventh pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves select Andrew Ferguson. At least general manager David Kahn didn't go the point guard or the small forward route like the last couple of years. A player like Ferguson -- an efficient scorer who can score with his back to the basket, as well as with a terrific fallaway jumper that is almost impossible to contain -- will make an excellent partnership with Kevin Love in the frontline, specially after Love's former sidekicks were three underachievers, in the forms of Darko Milicic, Chuck Hayes and Kosta Koufos. Despite being picked below a player like Grady, one could say he's far more polished than the Texas A&M product.

Andrew's coordination when handling the ball and his post defense are his two biggest strengths; he also has a low turnover rate. For a 6'10'' post player, he can do plenty. Nothing that he does looks overly natural, but he's not a robot. You see many of his same moves game in and game out, but they work with perfect rhythm. He can also knock down the occasional jumper. With a guard-dominated team, there is a huge need for a guy who can come in and score in the post. Andrew fills that need, and with Lewis and Sit going up in the draft board, he fell like manna from heaven for Kahn. He will form a nice tandem down low with Love; he now has the big opportunity to play for the Wolves. If he can handle it, expect him to make an instant impact in the league.

With the eighth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers select Leo Lai. With Andre Iguodala, last year 2nd pick Evan Turner, Thaddeus Young and Jodie Meeks in the Sixers rotation, this makes the second head-scratcher of the draft. The first, quick logical thinking here is that general manager Ed Stefanski is getting ready to let Young leave in free agency. In any case, it never hurts to become more athletic, but Lai will have to grow into an elite defender or be less turnover prone in order to get on the floor. But if he is in the zone, he is one of the best shooting guards in the entire draft. His 3-point shot is excellent, something that was a big need for Philly, and also can rebound pretty well for his body frame.

He upgrades the athleticism of the team drastically, making it longer on the perimeter. Statistically, he can make his free throws, getting to the line constantly. So those two factors together are a combo builder. He is the perfect swingman: he is more capable of playing in the SG spot, as opposed to the SF slot. If Leo can turn his defense into a primary focus, he could pile up playing time on any team, as he is athletic as all get out. As said, his decision making is kind of a concern though -- he was turnover prone with the Tar Heels last year. The Sixers are in a slight rebuilding mode after giving Iguodala the keys to the franchise, and on the verge of losing Young, but still have quality players around that can mentor Lai.

With the ninth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select Edward Carr. The Bucks should be really happy to scoop up one of the draft's best defensive prospects in Carr, as he has incredible length and his ability to alter and block shots will be very appreciated on a roster short on true big men -- only former No. 1 pick Andrew Bogut fits that mold as Antonio McDyess retired last month. This is a very good pick as it allows Milwaukee to shore up a frontcourt that depended heavily on Bogut and rookie Larry Sanders last season. He's thought to be an immediate impact on the defensive end for the Bucks backing up Bogut.

Now, here's the most problematic issue: when a player with as much defensive skilled and with potential as Carr is drafted in the lottery, many worry about that "potential" never becoming reality. In his case, these worries should hold very little substance. He always attempts to position himself well for offensive rebounds, and seems to have a clear ability to time his blocks. Bottom line, he is still raw in many areas, especially on his basketball I.Q. He still has a long way to go; the key being that he is 21 years of age already and that could take off some time to mature his skills. But Edward is an extremely intelligent and a hard worker, and the Bucks front office has faith in him for the long road.

With the tenth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Portland Trail Blazers select Valminton Silva. Apparently, the Trail Blazers had Ohio State's Julian Martin on their radar, but Martin decided not to show in Portland for his workouts. With the emergence of Wesley Matthews and Elliot Williams, the Blazers decided to stay put with their backcourt and selected the New Mexico bigman, born and raised in Brazil, who moved to the States when he was nine years old. With this, Portland addressed the other big need of the squad. Body of a power forward, but also spent time as an undersized center for the Lobos. Solid rebounder and an interesting shot blocker.

He won't come off the bench and be ready to score right away, but he will find the way to contribute in other ways. He brings toughness on the inside in the form of strong defensive rebounding, something the Blazers are never great at, with Marcus Camby getting older and Greg Oden slowly starting to play regularly. He also boasts a solid back-to-the-basket game and does a great job finishing around the hoop. But Valminton's best skill is that he likes the mix-it up down in the paint, but also he can step out and drop a 10-footer with skilled precision, an attribute that makes him an understandable and a wise choice by general manager Rich Cho and head coach Nate McMillan.

With the eleventh pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns select Julian Martin. If Lai is the best shooter in this draft, then Julian isn’t far behind. No wonder both are NLSC Academy products. The now former Ohio State star shot over 44 percent from both the field and 3-point range, good enough to catch the eye of the Suns general manager Lance Blanks. He will help space the floor alongside Steve Nash and Hedo Turkoglu -- in case he starts -- being able to play either wing position and he also has a smooth quality to his game. Then, he is much better in the half court than in the open floor and needs work on his defense; long, athletic defenders can give him trouble.

Now, this pick is another questionable one. It’s interesting that the Suns selected Martin here, rather than a future point guard like Chris Hova, with Nash's age starting to show and Goran Dragic battling with injuries the entire season. Even so, Phoenix already has three players capable of playing both wing positions in Jason Richardson, Josh Childress and even Jared Dudley played some minutes at the 2 spot; adding Martin doesn't make much sense here. Childress and Dudley still have a little potential left to get over flaws, but at least one of them will have to be traded and Childress has all the tickets of the raffle.

With the twelfth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Dolph Lundgren. There aren’t many true centers in this draft, which is why almost 7-foot, 250-pound Dolph Lundgren's stock has climbed in the last couple of days, culminating with him going to the Kings. Props to general manager Geoff Petrie: just the thought of pairing Dolph with DeMarcus Cousins is something monstruous. He is tremendously skilled, able to score with either hand and could post a double-double night in, night out with the Spartans.

He has a big frame, good touch close to the rim and the ability to knock down an open mid-range jump shot if his defender doesn’t respect him. At 250, the bigman is literally that; someone who potentially could be a brute force down low. He’ll battle for rebounds in both blocks, and rarely makes mistakes. Few players this young are as comfortable playing on both ends of the floor. Most of the questions involving him revolve around his general lack of athleticism and his decision making. But he has a big upside, making this one of the steals of the draft.

With the thirteenth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Portland Trail Blazers select Wade Ramsey. Ramsey was McMillan's second plan after Martin's didn't show up for the workouts in the Rose Garden. Wade impressed the Blazers staff. He's one of the best all-around guards in the draft thanks to his excellent size and athleticism, whether he is judged as a point or a shooting guard. He just hasn’t ever discovered what he needs to do to become a significant player for a big team as the Panthers didn't reach the NCAA Tournament.

The reason the Blazers liked him is he has flashed NBA athleticism on offense. That said he has the necessary skills to play in the league. This is a skill that players either have or they don’t, and Wade has it, which puts him up on the rest of these guys. In case Elliot Williams goes down with an injury again, Ramsey could explode as Brandon Roy's primary backup. The hard part for him will be developing some offensive and/or point guard skills; he should improve his ballhandling and decision-making to play at the point with more efficiency. If he does, he could be one of the biggest steals of this year.

With the fourteenth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the New Jersey Nets select Chris Hova. Great move from general manager Billy King: a point guard rotation featuring "The Hov", Augustin and Chauncey Billups was too good to pass up, even with Chris playing most of his minutes in the shooting guard spot. The addition of the guard from Syracuse should be perfect for the team. Not only was he one of college's best slashers: he also deserves more credit for his ability to create shots, both for himself and for his teammates.

He’s much tougher than people give him credit for and his ability to get to the basket will be a great playmaking skill for coach Avery Johnson. He is also a shooter who complements the "jumpshots" style of Billups; you won't see him dazzle with high-flying dunking, but he has a great athleticism getting to the basket and is also a great free-throw shooter. Even being the the primary offensive option with the Orange, he proved he can be a pass-first point guard with 7.2 dimes per game. He was a struggling defender and will need to work on that with coach Johnson.

With the fifteenth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the New Orleans Hornets select Axel Gomez. Inconsistency was a crushing blow to Texas' point guard J'Covan Brown last season, but in some ways it was a blessing overall for Gomez and the Longhorns. Axel had the opportunity to prove he can run the team as a true point guard, leading the team to the NCAA Tournament championship and earning NCAA Finals MVP in the process.

Standing at 6’3”, with a solid frame and good length, he is an improving shooter, a capable defender and a solid finisher at the rim; a true shooter in terms of range, tough and willingness to fire under pressure. Even Gomez himself knows that he has been labelled a combo guard, but he is more comfortable while making his teammates contribute. Down the road, what really makes Gomez an intriguing prospect in this league are his intangibles: he has great work ethic and he is a natural leader. He also was a really good teammate when with the Longhorns. Overall, brilliant pick from coach Monty Williams: Gomez and Chris Paul make a deadly point guard combination.
