How about the East

Postby guillus2670 on Sat May 01, 2004 12:40 am

I've noticed all of the topics were about the western conference which of course i understand but i think detroit and indiana have a (slight) chance this year.
Are there no estern teams fans who want to defend their team :?
So who else thinks the east has a chance or is the west going to dominate once again?

i agree. though i do think their chances are better then that.

detroit has been pretty solid since the arrival of wallace #2 and indiana has been great all year and their lower tier players: bender and jones are playing confident and excellent

whoever ever wins the det/indy series will be facing a team that will be worn down from 2 very tough series

Although recently there was an article about how the difference never was this big, i do believe the east is quite competitive, though the west has more dominant teams(and more big men, which leads to dominance imho :) ).
But i still like the eastern conference more than the west, dunno why, im quite curious what the cavs will do, if they can manage to get a second gun for lebron. Any suggestions who would be a great team-up with bron(type desmond mason, maybe al harrington or fred jones?)?
I also really like the heat for some reason. If you look at the pacers, the heat, the bucks and the nets, do these teams just look more dynamic and younger then the teams in the west(i know the kings and mavs, and even the nuggets and grizz are up tempo teams but i like the teams in the east more)?

I'm an Eastern Conference fan too!
As a Detroit Pistons fan i'm seeing this year as a chance to win an NBA championship, not just say reach the Finals. It all depends on whom the East champs match up with, but i'd say Indy or Detroit, if either makes it to the Finals will at least get 2 wins

I'm a big fan of the Heat now, after watching them...Alston and his nutpunching is entertaining. ;) I like the East better because I like the physical play mixed with the finesse and athleticism of the guards...they're more fun to watch than most of the western teams.

Go Raptors (next year) when we get a real coach...why the fuck didn't they go after Doc? :(

I think Indiana definitely has a chance. I know it's become popular to count Eastern teams out before the playoffs even begin, but I believe they have a shot this year. At the very least, I don't think it will be an easy sweep for the Western team.

i second that andrew, but indy still has to beat the nets(or the pistons) first if they wanna make the finals

I personally don't think Denver could beat Indiana or New Jersey in a seven game series, but it would be boring if we all had the same opinion.

Id pick indiana to advance to the finals beating new jersey in coference finals.
I still think the east has a shot even if the spurs look really impressive.

The East does not suck. Honestly, I'm also sick and tired of all this West talk, what about the East.

The East provide some great games against the West. This year, my bet is that the underated Pistons or Pacers will go to the Finals and knock out one of those supposdly 'Big West' teams. If not this year, next year, East will get theirs, you just watch and wait!!
