Wolves vs. Kings

Postby Micchy_boy on Sat May 01, 2004 4:58 pm

Battle of 2 great teams but not compare to lakers-spurs match up.

Wolves will be playing for the first time in a semifinal series after 7 years of frustration of 1sr round elimination. plus this year they have cassell and spree to help the MVP Garnett.

Kings another team lot of frustration coz of injuries. they are the best team in couple of years but always got kicked their ass due to injuries (until tis playoff with bobby injuries, brad and chris still not 100%)

so who do you think will win??? (i think winner of this series will be crown western conference runner up.

i think wolves in 7. with a prediction another kings will be injured along the series (i hope hehehe)

It's great to see the Timberwolves finally get out of the first round. I'm hoping that they will advance, but I honestly think it could go either way. I also believe the winner of this series could go all the way, as far as I'm concerned the four Western semi-finalists still have a chance to win it all. Barring injuries, I'll predict that it goes six games, possibly the full seven.

You wish injury upon players and find it amusing? :?

I'm kinda hoping they will advance too but i also would like to know how good the kings really are, the injury bug is gettin' outta hand here.
I'd like the western finals to bee SA - Minny and see a TD - KG matchup, but for all we know it could be LA - Sac.

i'll be going for Minny. But it will take enormous games from KG, but i think he plays real well against CWebb anyways. Cassell vs Bibby could be the key matchup here

sac because of the experience factor, and minny cant beat them on defense or offense. even if everyone injured comes back they havent had enough time to play as a unit.

im nuetral towards both minny and sac though, so i really dont care who wins :D

i think this is the hardest match up to call because min has done pretty good against sac town this season however, just as everyone else has said.. the experience factor is gonna play a major role.. i wouldnt be surprised at all if this series goes all the way to 7 games.. matchups are pretty even i think

Divac/Miller over Johnson
KG over C-Webb
Peja over Spree
Christie and Hassell about even out
Cassell and Bibby even out also..

i want sac town to win but i wouldnt mind seeing mini goin to the west. conf finals.. this is gonna be a killer series

I think and hope the wolves win. The wolves beat them in the regular season 3-1.

Sacramento takes the first game 104-98, though KG's numbers were nice (16 points, 18 rebouunds, 7 assists) and Cassell scored 40 points (7/11 from downtown). Mike Bibby countered with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, with five other Kings in double figures for an otherwise fairly balanced attack.

hassell should have been in there at the end, not sprewell. sprewell couldn't hit anything and was hesistant while hassell was playing like he was back at austin peay

Minnesota wins Game 2 94-89. (Boxscore). Great game for KG: 28 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 6 blocks. Some nice performances by the key players on both teams, and a good outing for Fred Hoiberg. The Mayor had 13 points off the bench for the Wolves.

(Y) KG just putting up his MVP Numbers
Good win for the T'wolfs. Now they need to just steal 1 in Sacramento and take back home court advantage.

Minnesota took Game 3 114-113. I don't think either team should be understimated in the Western Conference Finals. They each have a good shot at getting past the Lakers or Spurs, though I anticipate a six or seven game series.

Yeah, I had it up for awhile. Bean's more suitable. Chris Webber has had enough publicity...it's back to Kings for me though, it's more of Peja's team now & I like him so no complaints against the Kings. When it was Webber's team..you know the rest.

Good game by Minny...it isn't over yet though. I expect the Kings to take the next game.

The Lakers' away record during the regular season (22-19) is only slightly better than the Kings' (21-20). So far, all of Los Angeles playoff losses have come on the road.

what matters in the playoffs is that if that team has an inside dominant force who can score in a high percentage at half court offense.
For Lakers: SHAQ
For Spurs: TD
For Kings: No one...
For Twolves: maybe KG, but he winds at times...
so the lakers and the spurs no doubt has pretty good advantage over the kings and the twolves

also, every championship team had at least one dominant, unstoppable player:
spurs: duncan lakers: shaq bulls: jordan rockets: olajuwon pistons: thomas lakers: magic celtics: bird 76ers: Dr. J etc....

bottom line: twolves and kings doesn't have chance to beat either the spurs nor the lakers

Kings don't really have that type of dominant player (webber was suppose to be this) but i think t'wolves have it in KG.

Sure they may have Spreewell and Cassell, but there was a reason KG was MVP, he is very good.
His numbers are very similar to Tim Duncan, and if he isn't scoring, he is rebounding. He won't drop 40+ on you as much as guards and centers can do ( ex- Shaq, Kobe, Jordan, McGrady) but he plays a solid game someway somehow.

I think you're under-estimating the Kings.

They finished the season very badly. But do not forget they kicked ass at the begining of the season. I'm sure the end of the season was a short bad patch. Since the playoffs, they have done better.

Not because the Wolves can't beat the Kings, the Wolves suck. It's because the Kings are good.

And not because the Wolves can't beat the Kings, the Wolves can't beat the Spurs. Wolves-Spurs and Wolves-Kings are completely different match-up, complete different kinds of play which are opposed.
