Nuggets and Wolves have "beef"

Postby Ruff Ryder on Fri Apr 30, 2004 8:57 am

If you have been watching, Denver and Minnesota are playing hard on the court, but tempers are flaring.

Carmelo Anthony wrote:...Might wanna bring extra security...There'll be punches thrown.

Melo is injured now and we don't know if he'll play now, but the game can get quickly out of hand.

Elson knocked Garnett into the seats behind the basket with a hard foul early in the game, and the two exchanged words after Garnett tangled with Marcus Camby while fighting for a loose ball. Elson and Garnett also reportedly yelled back and forth outside of Minnesota's bus after the game, and Elson kept the banter going with his comments on Wednesday.

Elson said Wednesday that Garnett hit him during the first quarter of Minnesota's 84-82 victory the night before, then said he was gay for touching his private parts.

Elson wrote:"That's a cheap shot by a low-class type player. You don't do that. That's gay on his part. I told him that he was gay, too, for touching me in my private parts.

I find it funny that KG's referred to as a "low-class type player."

Elson wrote:I would like to apologize to the gay and lesbian community for my comments about Kevin Garnett," Elson said. "I realize my comments were insensitive and they were out of character for me. However, I take full responsibility and I have learned a valuable lesson.

Tonights game will be a good one. :P

I'm surprised the image-conscious NBA hasn't slapped Elson with a fine yet.

and kgs comments after the game mightve stung a little too..... something along the lines of "we played like crap and we still beat them -- therefore they suck bad" :D

you know, its getting harder and harder to take these 'professional' nba players seriously, half of them are children and the other half are criminals

Yeah. If that was Shaq that said that, he'd be fined 200k.

I'm still surprised the NBA hasn't fined him yet. Obviously he's not one of the league's marquee players, but they usually react swiftly and strongly to any comments that some people may find offensive. Perhaps his apology has saved him from a fine, though that's not generally the NBA's stance on such issues.
