Shaq's Ego

Postby filmboy on Fri Apr 30, 2004 5:55 am

I was watching an interview with Shaq talking about beeing a bad man because they changed the rules and allowed Zones because of him. Ah........................NO! They brought in Zones because the NBA Millionairs where starting to look average against International compitition. David couldn't sell the NBA as the best league in the world anymore if No Name guys were beating team USA in international compitition. The only time they changed rules for Shaq was in his first championships when they allouwed him to charge. They are now not allowing Shaq to charge anymore, and he thinks he's getting a raw deal because he has to actually play on an even playing filed.

David stern often changes rules to get the dude who makes the most money for him a championship. The bulls couldn't win a championship when you were allowed to bump and play phisical against Jordan. Jordan made more money for the league than the Pistons, so the rules were changed so that no one was alowed to go near Jordan. If you want proof check out a game in the playoffs that the pistons won the championships in, then check out footage of things like Jordan tripping over Rodman (when they were in the same team) and then the refs calling the foul on the clossest defender.

Everyone says the Spurs are better than the Lakers and will win this series. The spurs have been to the finals and the ratings were bad, so don't be surprised to see some sussy calls that help the Lakers beat the Spurs, in the same way the Lakers beat the Trailblazers a few years back.

Do we really need to dignify that with a response? I mean come on... I think part of why the ratigs were so low last year were because most of the game were on cable.

There were empty seats. You can't blame that on cable. Even cats like Wilbarne from Pardon the Interuption have said games have been rigged. Don't underestimate the power of both David Stern and Money.

Which is why he's saying there might be "sussy" calls because of ratings...that way they can get lakers vs. whoever. The NBA would love a Knicks vs. Lakers finals series, even if it only went four games...they would make an absurd amount of money off of it.
