so how do i un-tweak the rosters with the megamodifier? I could do most of the ratings without trouble but i get errors untweaking FG, Inside Scoring, steals and speed. thanks for all ur help DK.

that's what i'm talkin about... it doesn'tmake sense... if u can edit it one time, why can't we edit it to go back to the original if we're only multiplying and dividing numbers...

What I usually use to implement tweaks on a saved season I'm running is the NBA Live 2003 Toolkit.

It's in the downloads section.

It has an option called IMPORTING after you select all your dbf files and such for the saved season, you can import ratings and not change anything else but the ratings...

Copying the dbf file actually overwrites your rosters as well... so all of the players you traded for will be back in correspondence to the new players.dbf file.

if you like doing this, you can do this also, it has the options... give it a whirl...

8) anytime dude... this game really sucks even with tweaks it's shit... EA needs to REALLY remodel the engine as roster tweaking won't fix the game alone...

For instance, when, in a basketball game does a team keep running the ball up!
at least in 99 and 2000, they walked the ball sometimes...

sorry... this was meant to be a graceful no worries post... but I'm just steamed about all the things the game is lacking....

grrr... btw gw DK...

Hmm, I try it again and I don't know what I should think. Gameplay is good but if I play against some teams, it really sucks.
Some examples:

I played against the Wizards. It looks like, the Wizards have only one Player, J. Stackhouse. He alaways makes 40-50 Points an shoot 30(!!) three pointer each game????? And he hits 10-15...I beat the Wizards, but...

I played against NY. Only three point shooting and everybody hits the three from New York. Houston, Spree, Ward etc. They only shoot 3 Pointer, 80% of all shoots were 3 Pointer and they hit really 60-70%.
And you can believe me, I got no chance. How should I, if every hit is a three pointer.????

I think, is is not DKs fault but I didn't like this game more and more. Totally unrealistic.

Have to give credit where it's due. These new rosters are really impressive, especially since the quickness ratings have been adjusted, the game flows alot better. This is exactly what I was looking for. Nice touch with primacy ratings and such. Great stuff DK.

Everyone, keep in mind that this is still a work in progress. We've come a LONG way compared to the original roster. In due time I'm sure we can adjust individual 3pt shooting to a more reasonable level, as well as other pressing issues with the game. Let's be patient however..

DK, could u provide a patch which fits 12-min qtr play?
though the fg% had been lowered quite a lot by ur patch, i still got a score at about 130-140 in a full 48min game(so does the cpu). thats mainly caused by the high fg attempts(100 or more). if use a 8-9min qtr, the stats are pretty good, but its not a real-realistic game, is it???

Hey guys,

I'm seeing a lot of offensive rebounds. Did the CPU do that for you or you control a player to crash the offensive boards?

I can't seem to get my CPU players to get the offensive boards (Ben Wallance or Tyron Hill), but I have no issues with defensive rebounds.

Please help. Thanks.

Well for offensive rebs u need to jump to get it other wise the cpu will just run back or u can turn the crash boards ON to attack more offensive rebs but watch out 2003 cpus r really good at fast breaks!!!

Crash board is ON, however, they don't seem to get any rebounds. If I play one of them, I have a better chance of getting rebounds, but it si completely dominated by the Opponet... Just like I always get the defensive rebound

Also, it seems that the only way for me to win with more tan 10 points is to always set a halfcourt trap! or press, otherwise, the scores would always be close.

I notice that if I was ahead by 12 points, my players start missing easy layups and dunks! Weird AI.

Anyway, nice patch from DK! Can't play without it.

I love the new roster patch, but I have one problem. The computer keeps jacking up three-pointers, and hitting them. they are hitting something like 18 out of 26 or something. And some maybe are because I was a little bit too far away, but the majority is when I'm right in their face.

I played a game just ten minutes ago. I really silenced them in the fourth quarter, and had a 10+ lead, which, at the end, was reduced to three (I kept scoring as well, so that wasn't the problem) in a two minute span (!) because Jason Terry and Pat Garrity started to jack up all sorts of threes, right over Stockton and Elton Brand, who really were in their face. And if that wasn't enough Shawn Marion started to join them as well. They just hit everything, even if they were well outside the three-point line, and I was right on them.

About the 3s, that is programmed into the game and I can't change their willingness to shoot the 3.

Inside Scoring needs fixing

Postby trsba on Mon Dec 23, 2002 10:10 pm

Inside scoring is reduced way too far.. 3 point shooting is all of a sudden gone stupid after DKs editor thingy... I missed 7 open layups. Always use
CPU for shot selection as using USER the actual rating of the player doesn't come into it at all..

im not saying your patch is not good, but after you change it to allstar difficulty the gameplay become too easy even tho it does produce realstic stats, however there aren't any challenges anymore. i try to let the CPU win and i play like im lying to myself, wheres the fun *sigh*

*still seeking for the best patch...

I agree... I have found that just going for the break all the time and taking it to the hole will always guarantee you a win...

I feel the same...

The problem is not with the patch, it's with the fucking game... gw dk, I know patches can only do so much...

gw again dude, keep tryin

no auto-substitution

Postby Coldkevin on Wed Dec 25, 2002 3:23 am

hey DK, have you noticed this?

with your latest patch auto-substitution doesn't work.... :(

I have played 5 9-min games with auto-substitution active....but benchers keep their chairs warm all the time!!!

is it normal?....

Coldkevin

I get subs but not enough now for some reason, I'll probablly end up multiplying fatigue by *.75 to compensate for not playing 12 min quarters.
