Yes it is. Lakers know they have a big opponent now.

Justine. wrote:You're in a tough situation. Glad that you won that last game, take game 6 and I know you can beat them in 7. Good luck (Y)

If I take G6, then G7 will be in Texas, different atmosphere :wink:

Yes, I still have hopes.

As Valor said, they already did it on '07 against the Suns. So, if they fall, no big news.

Valdis wrote:Two more and you are in Finals, GO SPURS!!! You won this game in 4th quarter (Y)

Yeah, in the fourth, the team was unstoppable. I didn't want to lose four games in a row.

Game 6 outcome -- tonight.

Six Spurs in double figures push San Antonio to deciding Game 7; overcome Kobe and Gasol's monster games
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (SAS :: LAL)

LOS ANGELES, May 29 -- Down 14 points and on the brink of elimination, the San Antonio Spurs may have been frustrated, but never panicked. Instead, they turned to their new & improved “Big Three” and forced a “winner take all” seventh game: Tim Duncan scored 22 points and Corey Maggette and Manu Ginobili added 19 each to rally the West 1st seed to a 122-112 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, and send the Western Conference Finals back to Texas. “There was never any pressure,” said Duncan. “We know that when we play together we play at our best. If we keep up this way for the clinching game, everything will be fine.” After struggling through three straight losses, the shooters finally exploded when it mattered the most by lifting the Spurs back into the series with a Game 5 victory. And tonight, Duncan was at his maximum expression, grabbing 11 boards and blocking three shots. “We needed to take a chance and make some tough shots,” Maggette said. “Pop always says -- 'there's going to be a point in the game when you have to take tough shots to win.' That's what we did tonight.” Despite having 20 turnovers to Los Angeles' 12 (12 and 2 at the break), the Spurs found the win at the glass (55-45); with paint dominance (66-48) and reserve scoring (43-25).

“We controlled at least one of those guys in each of the three wins, but when all three are scoring like that, they are tough to defeat,” Lakers' Kobe Bryant said. “We just couldn't find a way to stop any of them. That gave them the win tonight.” Bryant led the Lakers with 34 points, while Pau Gasol had easily his best game of the entire season with 28 points and 24 boards -- he had 17 and 12 at halftime. “It's a team sport,” added Gasol. “It has to be five guys playing real well to beat a club like the Spurs.” With 2:45 left in the first half, frustration began to show for the road team: after DeJuan Blair (12 points in the game) was called for a foul, Tony Parker stormed after the game officials, who hit the Frenchman with a technical. Ginobili raced over and pulled him away. Must be noted that Parker was 0-of-6 from the field at that time, finishing the game 2-of-12. The Lakers were playing well and with no rush, and built a 14-point lead at intermission. At the locker room, coach Gregg Popovich implored his team to settle down. They did: behind their “Big Three 2.0” (Manu, TD and Maggs) the Spurs started the second half with a 10-0 run in only three minutes. Maggette scored six straight points (two dunks and a layup) to help the Spurs cut Los Angeles' lead to 64-60.

To make it even more interesting, the Spurs tied the game at 78 in the very last play of the third period, with George Hill dropping a half-court bomb with less than 2 seconds left. San Antonio went up 82-78 to start the fourth on two free throws by rookie James Anderson, who finished with 11 points, and a put-back by Tiago Splitter, who posted a double-double (10 and 11) off the bench. But Gasol answered with an up-and-under and Bryant followed with a dunk to tie the contest again. Derek Fisher then turned the ball over on a back-court violation and Ginobili made a 3 for a 85-82 lead. Ron Artest tied it again with a 3 of his own; he added 19 points for Los Angeles. With only 23 seconds left in regulation, and the game tied at 105, Fisher found Bryant with 8 seconds in the clock. Kobe made a couple of crossovers but missed the game-winner at the buzzer; in the extra period, a 9-2 run by the Spurs (six by Maggette) proved the key to the win. “A Game 7 is always tough,” said Lamar Odom, adding six points, six boards, six assists and four steals to the Lakers' cause. “Even tougher if you are the road team. But we have to win it to reach the Finals, and that's what we are gonna do.”

Wow, lots of comments... thanks guys, the season is coming to its end, only five wins left. :D

As you guys know, I signed TP to an extension some time ago and so far, he hasn't played to it. He was in single-digit scoring in both Game 5 and 6. Terrible... should I look a deal for him?
