How does one know if they are a good moderator or not? Seems like a hard one to quantify.

If people don't notice or realize that you're a moderator then you're generally doing a good job. It means you haven't abused your "power" or changed the way you act etc. As far as not doing much, there's really not a huge amount of moderating to be done anyway. Outside of banning spam bots and occasionally moving threads there's nothing on the general boards that needs too much attention, so it's actually a good thing that you aren't doing a great deal :P

To answer your question, what Jae said, looking other comments and personal experience as a moderator in other forums. And also it was sth like a "keep going" post as well.

Both started their NLSC/NBA careers as talented but brashful youngsters. As they gained more experience they became even more polarising to other members of NLSC/NBA as they became more arrogant because they knew they were good.

I think the hate was well placed when he kept telling how good he was even though he admitted that he was a third string PG during that time.

Come on now - although it's sad to say - I regret not showing up to the tryouts on time (was 10 minutes late because of flirting with my at the time girlfriend) and I think that really cost me. I was the starting PG on the top team in my age group the previous year (we won the championship that season - the same year I tried out for the senior team and was one of the last 4 players cut) and you don't cut that player after one tryout. I'm still bitter about it. If I had half the confidence I have today on the court, I would have had a very different playing career although it still wouldn't have led anywhere since I am a midget.

That's just sad I still think about high school basketball from 6 years ago

To The X

Thanks to this guy, I was able to love playing basketball again and we've become pretty good friends since I played for his team starting in 2007. I will never forgive Dragon for ditching us in the first leg of the Finals. It was that season when we were doing great as a team. Hopefully in the near future though, The X will join my current team as a veteran who can come out and spread the court with his three point shot.

Not going to say much about him as a poster but as a person, he's a top bloke. And great guy since he's pretty much seen me grow up and seen me through many phases through the last 4 years of my life. It's a pleasure to know him as a friend!

As for the Buck's night story, there's nothing exciting there to tell!

Nice milestone, congratz! I definitely feel like you are one of the old-school posters in herre, not many guys around got that old-school swagger anymore. (definitely Andrew - Jae a bit, although he's more of the Charles Oakley type of old-school).

Good to have you around as you bring up intelligent posts most of the time and a bit of a factual standpoint does not hurt this forum. (Y)

Congrats on the baby girl on the way. Yep, does get frantic but such is life. Forgot to mention that NLSC is good stress reliever.

As for my historical NBA comparison, I like. Worthy was a very good player but no superstar (in my eyes at least). Slightly underwhelming in personality when compared to guys he played with.

I've tried to stick with current day comparisons in this thread since I've done historical ones once before.

Late congratulations, great milestone post. The most memorable thing about you that I remember was probably when you did those re-drafts (I really loved those, would like to see these kind of things again  ).

I enjoyed doing them and may re-visit them in the future.
