jist of article: mcmahon thought of macho as a son. wanted him to represent the wwf and a backstage role, while macho thought he could still wrestle, so he left without telling vince.

That seems to be in line with Bret Hart's recollections.

Could be my imagination, but there's something "Mr McMahon"-ish about Vince's expression at the end of that clip.

I meant to post this last night but Impact Wrestling was pretty good this week. Good matches, decent promos, good flow, worth a watch.
Opinions are my own.

I love the blue theme they've gone with too. The new entrance ramp is a lot better as well.

Could be too little, too late though. They should've made these changes when Hogan and Bischoff were first coming in and there was a lot of hype.

Seen Over the Limit last weekend and damn: the Orton-Christian match is very epic -- and also it's just a singles match with no other stipulation yet it's so great to watch. :bowdown2:

Unlike the Cena-Miz match where Miz dominates all of the match, then Cena won in the end and in the lame way too.

So WWE next pay-per-view is named Capitol Punishment? :?

I don't get it

It will be held on DC, hence the name.

i know this is far off but its on the topic of pay per views but i really wish they would go back to the true survivor series type of matches. my favorite was the one year they had the grand survival match would love to see all that come back. anyone else miss that style or is all the one on one matches more enjoyable for people? i liked that it was something different

I loved it too, but it worked better with the old stables, now if you group up with 3-4 people you are automatically heel.

I liked the concept too and it made the Survivor Series PPV unique, rather than just having a couple of those matches on the card to keep using the name. They were originally going to do away with the name but ultimately decided against it, probably because it's still got a bit of brand recognition with older fans.

its one of the so called big 4 of pay per views though imo it no longer belongs as one. i still like wresltemania and the royal rumble the most. i like more unique events overt he same old 1 on 1 matches each month.

A couple of years ago it had a terrible buyrate, mostly because of a UFC event the same weekend. As the story goes, Vince looked at the numbers and decided that the concept didn't resonate with viewers anymore. That may be true to some extent but it's probably because they've moved so far away from the concept and really only pay it lip service with a couple of "traditional" Survivor Series matches on the card these days.

Well at least that would freshen up his character. I prefer Randy as heel though.

Unfortunately he's being booked like Cena, which I'm finding to be similarly boring.

totally agree with you there. seems like they tried to play it off by having him attack heels instead of faces in order to maintain his persona, but in the end IMO it's made him a bit "soft" by doing face stuff like shaking people's hands and stuff.

They could have stuck with the face vs. face thing going on Smackdown these past couple of weeks with Orton and Christian. That actually gives the show the credit of unpredictability. I'd rather have Orton heel and have him champ for too long, and book Christian as the face that fails throughout the wrestling year and gets his title back sometime during the Wrestlemania period.

On the bright side, it probably means that Christian's time at the top isn't quite over and another reign could be in the cards after all. Smackdown aired here this evening and I caught the end of it; while Christian was booed there were also scattered cheers and a Christian chant, so they might have to work to make him all the way heel if they don't him to be a tweener.

Kids in this WWE generation sucks (just like how I write and speak English). The fact that they were sperm cells during Savage's time, you can hear how loud they chant "Macho Man" when the WWE showed the video tribute for Randy Savage. I doubt they've seen/followed Macho's career.

I am loving Christian's heel turn, especially the post match. I can't wait to see next week's video package, that is where WWE excels.
