Justine., Yeah, Pierce and J-Rich tied. With Brewer too, you should think that those 3 will get eliminated in a hurry.

Draft Combine

Postby Cruzerr on Sat Apr 30, 2011 2:23 am

Yes, it is this time of the year again. Get ready folks, because this is Draft Combine !

Image

The Z on his neck. The silky smooth jumper. The reckless rebound game. The dunking that has been all over the internet. Yes, Zee Otoo is the most talked about draft pick so far this season. Being a 19 year old player from South Carolina, many have believed that he is a mix of The Matrix/J-Rich, but some say that when all said and done, this boy will have more talent then the both of them. Being a 19 year old Small Forward, that lead the Gamecocks in to the NCAA Final Four, where they won Ohio State, the Huskies and closely losing to Connecticut in the finals, he must be a force to deal with. We had a interview with him.

So tell me, how did you even get into basketball ? Did you like to play any other sport growing up ?

Ahh, I did not even like basketball when I was growing up. I always wanted to play American Football when I was growing up. My friends were scared playing with me, cuz I was a lot taller than them.*Starts laughing loud* I got into basketball when I was 10 or so, my friends saw my great outside shooting and they wanted me to join their team. I was good then, but what I am now, is really huge.

What or who motivates you the most?

Got to be my dad. I lived with my dad a long time, despite him being sick, he never missed one of my games. He has huge support for my and I cannot be more thankful for him. Also, big thanks are to my friends, who got me into basketball the first place.

Who are your 3 most favorite players in the NBA ?

Well, my most favorite is Dwight Howard. When I look at his inside game, always my jaw drops. He is one of my idols, and I really look forward to play against him, or even better with him. I also love the skill level of Duncan and Bosh, altho when Bosh went to Miami, it kinda sucked. Still I like him.

What team is your favorite ?

I have many favorites. I would love to play for Charlotte, but I also like Dallas, Portland and Phoenix. If I could play on one of these teams, it would be great.

What player do you want to play with in the NBA ? Who do you want to face ?

Well, like I said, I love Dwight, so he should be the main guy I want to play with. But who do I want to face.... Hmm, tough one. I think LeBron. I want to see the real skill of his, or is it just hype.

What kind of draft pick are you hoping for ?

Well, the higher the better. I am pretty certain that I will be in the top 5 or so, otherwise, you would not interview me, would you ? *Every body starts laughing.*

Why did you join South Carolina? Why not North ? South is not really the place where basketball stars come from.

In all honesty, South Carolina is the place where my talents blossomed. Maby it is because of the great coach or the team effort, but this is where my skill was born. I came here because of my friends, we all wanted to go in the same college. Sadly, I was the only one to make the basketball team cut.

Lets talk about your team. How are your teammates ? Anyone of them is going to try for the draft ?

Actually, nobody is trying for the draft. I am the only one. But my teammates are great, they really motivate me and help me alot. Some of them are jerks, but all in all, it is a great team to play for.

Alright, last question. What is your biggest strength ?

My athleticism. I have huge hops and really take the pain good. I think I am ready material for the NBA, but we will see that in the future.

Well, good luck in the draft and we hope to hear from you more !

Thanks a lot !

Cavs @ Bulls

Postby Cruzerr on Sat Apr 30, 2011 10:29 pm

Cavs edge Bulls to take 11th straight, win season series 2-0

Image
Another great game from Williams, finishing with 22 points and 7 rebounds.

Image

Cleveland had gotten their tenth straight, while Bulls wanted revenge from their previous matchup, what ended a close 95-89 for a Cavaliers victory. The Cavs were stoked to continue their streak but the Bulls were still a tough opponent for them.

Cavaliers were having a good night. T-Will finished with 22, while Demar was behind him and had 19. Both Jamison and Davis ended up with 18 and some good contribution was from Anthony Parker, who had 16 and 9 rebounds. Cleveland did edge the game with only 2 points as Williams dunked on Noah while 2.6 seconds to play. " Bulls came back and almost killed our streak, luckily the team performed good in the right moments and we were able to take away the W. " - commented Scott after the game, who was ecstatic to continue with the winning streak.

Image
DeRozans scoring has dipped since Terrence is back, but those 2 will lead the team into the playoffs.

Bulls was on fire. Their MVP candidate and league scoring leader Derrick Rose picked the team up in the 3th quarter, finishing with 34 points and 8 assists. Some good play was also from Deng, who had 22 on the night and Brewer, who had 21. Both of them had 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 assists. You might say that Noah and Boozer were both pretty cold this game, as most of Clevelands points came from the paint. Boozer finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds, while Noah had 0 points and 13 rebounds. Boozer said : " Today was not my night. Cleveland swept us in the season series, but if things continue, we might face them in the playoffs. "

Image
Rose had his worst shooting this season - getting 14-31 from the field.

Image
Deng also was not a sniper - having 4-10 from downtown.

Chicago will have their next game against Philadelphia, while Cleveland will continue their winning against the Spurs.

Dont Forget To Vote For The Sprite Slam Dunk Contest Participants ! Voting ends when I post the game against San Antonio !

Last but not least, the...
Image
Star and Flunk of the Night !

Star : Image Terrence Williams : He is still scoring strong and helping Cleveland continue the streak and go to the playoffs.

Flunk : Image Joakim Noah : Even though he had 13 rebounds, he had 0 points and he could not defend against the Cavs massive paint attack.

osaki, Yeah, the Bulls were tough. Rose was pretty awesome, like always. We will see who stops me :D

KidJustin, Thanks, well that coma thing does explain the football background. Unfortunately, z02 did not have time to answer my question ( given that he is studying for his exams, which I respect, if my grades were bad, you would not get so many updates also :P ) I am thinking that I am going to interview everybody. But we will see that. It would not have so many pictures of course but I am thinking about it.

Also, how can I play with the prospects ? I mean, how can I get you in a draft combine shirt ? :D

Slumping Spurs lose one at home

Image
Another game where Williams finishes with 20 points and 7 rebounds.

Image

Spurs season has not started like they are used to. They are 7-7 before the game, holding the 9-10th place with Memphis. Cleveland on the other hand, were hoping to make this their 12th straight, which for the cost of the lacking Spurs, they did.

Spurs play was not good. Their highest scorer was Jefferson, finishing with 18 points. Behind him was Manu, who had 15, and really seemed frustrated on the court, being 7-22 from the field. Their best player had to be Tim Duncan, with 14 points and 13 rebounds. A lot of tension is in the air with the Spurs. Seems like their team is not capable of getting wins, as the Cavaliers gave them their 4th straight loss. " We are not the same team that we were last season. I cannot blame anybody. My play has not been good too. " - commented Ginobili, who is averaging 19 points per game.

Image
Richard was exactly 50% from downtown - hitting 3 out of 6.

Image
Duncan on the other hand was 50% from the field - shooting 6-12.

Cleveland was pretty good as always. DeRozan lead the team, finishing with 26 points and 3 steals. Behind him was Williams with 20 points and 7 rebounds, following was Jamison, who managed to get 17 points and 8 rebounds. Cleveland has had a miraculous start for the season and are looking at the top seed in the playoffs. You have to wonder, what is the key for this great success ? " One word- coach. Without Byron, we all would be in ruins. Great coach man, great coach. " - told us Demar.

Image
Jamison had 3 steals and 3 blocks also.

Cleveland will have their next match up against Memphis, while Spurs are hoping to get a victory over the Magic.

Now, presenting...

Image
Star and Flunk of the Night !

Star : Image Demar DeRozan - Dominating like every game, you have to wonder : Who will stop him and Cleveland ? For right now, I'm saying nobody.

Flunk : Image George Hill - He had 7 points and 3 steals, but he was 3-22 from the field. No comment.

Well, its that time again, lets take back on what happened this week !

It seems like Drew Gooden is never going to find a place to stay. This time ,the man will be at Clippers as the Bucks get Craig Smith and Jamario Moon.

i havnt tried it...but off the top of my head...

1. create NLSCers in association
2. download the jerseys to the draft combine mod (in the 2k release section)
3. create backups of ur teams' practice uniforms
4. change the name of the draft combine jerseys to the same name as ur teams practice uniforms
5. put it in the 2k11 folder
6. (using a backup) sim to the offseason/workouts section
7. select the NLSC draftee for a workout....they should be wearing the draft combine jerseys instead of ur teams practice uniforms
8 take pictures
9. once its all done just get ur backups of ur teams practice uniforms (step 2) and put them back in the 2k11 folder...overwriting the draft combine jerseys

...oh and this would be for the PC...sorry Valdis :?

mp3, Yeah, as I said , I loved it :)

Grandmama Johnson, Well, who knows ? :D , we got some time, and we could drop some spots or even get the nr 1 seed, time will tell

KidJustin, Yeah, Thanks. Got it to work and got some pics, sent 2 of the interview forms out already, everybody is going to get some do time.

Cavs @ Grizzlies

Postby Cruzerr on Tue May 03, 2011 12:19 am

Awesome streak ends as Grizzlies take a win at home

Image
Rudy Gay lead the Memphis with 22 points and 5 rebounds.

Image

Well, all good things, must come to an end. Cleveland was coming off a huge victory over the Spurs, while Memphis were struggling, dropping from 6 to 9th in a week. As it seemed that Cavaliers would take this one, the home crowd in Memphis said the same, as the Grizzlies edged out Cleveland by 4 points.

Cleveland did not have a bad game. T-Will again lead the team, finishing with 27 points and 6 rebounds. Demar was closely behind him, with 22 points. Some good play was from Parker also, who had 18 at the end. Also, the rebounding of Varejao and Antawn was good, in total of 23 rebounds. Too sad that none of them got any good points up, both finishing with 8 points. When we asked J.J Hickson, who confirmed that against the Pistons he will be back, about the great streak they had, he said : " Well, we could not keep this up forever, there will be always better teams that will defeat you. One loss does not ruin our performance for now, so we just got to win our next game, that is all. "

Image
Williams was 0-3 from downtown, missing a huge shot at the end. Still, you can not blame him for the loss.

Image
Another game that Demar plays less than 20 minutes and puts up more than 20 points.

From Grizzlies side, things seem are on the rise now. Rudy finished with 22 points, with O.J Mayo behind him , scoring 17. Some huge rebounding was from Marc Gasol, who had 14 rebounds and 14 points. Zack however had a good game, with 14 and 7 rebounds, but if he would have been hot, this game would have had a different score. " You cant expect him to be hot every game. Sure, he is a great player, but we cant put a lot of pressure on Zack. Let him do his thing when he feels it and when it is needed. " - said Lionel Hollins after the game. Randolph himself replied : " Not every day is my day. "

Image
Mayos problem was his turnovers, having 7 for the night.

Cleveland will try to build their success against Portland, while Memphis will stay at home to face the Bulls.

Also, be sure to vote for the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest Participants ! Voting will end, when I put up the game against Boston !

Now, I give you with utmost pleasure :

Image
Star and Flunk of the Night !

Star : Image
Rudy Gay - He did not have the most points, but with him stepping up, that is what Memphis needs and will need, if they want to get back to the 6th seed.

Flunk : Image
Alonzo Gee - As he had 20 minutes of play, and was 0-6 from the field, it would have been enough to continue the streak.

Trail Blazers @ Cavs

Postby Cruzerr on Tue May 03, 2011 7:21 pm

Cleveland take one at home as Portland leaves with sadness

Image
Roys 28 points were not enough to get the win.

Image

As Cleveland wanted to get back to winning after losing in Memphis, Portland came off from a win in Utah. It was a Cleveland game from the first quarter and it really was not a surprise.

Cleveland had a great game. As always, their main contributor was Terrence Williams, who finished with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Demar was not worse, as he had 18 points, but some great game was also shown by Antawn Jamison, who finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Cleveland are still holding the second place in the conference and are first in their division - Central. As we asked Jamison, what motivates him, he replied : " In home, it is the fans. They do a great job of making us feel great in the field. When I am away, I always love the pressure of winning. That is what makes me tick. "

Image
Terrence was pretty good from the field - hitting 10-17.

Image
Jamison is a solid contributor every night.

When we talk about the Trail Blazers, we talk about injuries. As they are missing two of their main men, Andre Miller and LaMarcus Aldridge, who have to wonder, do Oden and Rubio pick up their spots ? Roy lead the team with 28 points, when behind him was Batum, who had only 14. Still, Oden played really well, as he had 10 points and 12 rebounds - first double-double in the season. Rubio did not play bad either, finishing with 4 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. " Well, Cleveland is a tough team to beat, they are great and have a solid bench to show too. We will get them next time. "

Image
Seems Oden will not struggle with injuries anymore.

Cleveland will continue their winning in the Motor City, as they face Detroit. Portland on the other hand will try to face the mighty Hawks.

Also, be sure to vote for the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest Participants ! Voting will end, when I put up the game against Boston !

Now, I give you with utmost pleasure :

Image
Star and Flunk of the Night !

Star : Image
Terrence Williams : Leading the Cavaliers to a win every night, this man has been one of the best trades for the Small Forward spot that Cleveland would have gotten.

Flunk : Image
Wesley Matthews : He has had better nights, but he crumbled against Cleveland, having only 1 point and 1 rebound when playing 12 minutes.

So the Grizzlies stopped your streak :D

I like the Pacers and Warriors doing well, we will see if they can keep up.

Not surprising to see Lou Willaims want to leave, he also did in my 76ers association, i wanted to keep him until the offseason but his moral dropped down and his ovr almost 10 points. :x

Draft Combine

Postby Cruzerr on Wed May 04, 2011 12:24 am

It is that time again, get ready for the Draft Combine !

Image

Sometimes, I look at a player and think " How does one possess so much talent ? " Some players surprise me with his dunking, some shine in the light and make all the decisive shots. But what does Justin KidJustin do ? Everything. This guy has talent, but has a huge work effort. Being from Cal Poly, the guy is a fast player with a lot of skill. If you want my pick, this guy be one of the top Shooting Guard prospects. We had a quick interview with him :

1: How did you get into basketball ? Did you play other sports ?

One word. "Magic." As in Earvin "Magic" Johnson. Just watching him play growing up is what really go me into the game. The things he did were amazing and made me want to do that. Other sports, I consider myself athletic, but basketball is my true calling.

2: Who motivates you the most ? Friends, family, an NBA player or a coach ?

I try to use everything to motivate me. I know I have the motor to keep on running and other than those close to me, I know the fans of whatever city drafts me will keep me fueled up each game!

3: Who are your 3 most favorite players in NBA ?

Current? Blake Griffin, Baron Davis, Eric Gordon
All-Time? Magic Johnson, Dennis Rodman, Baron Davis

4: What team is your favorite ?

Since I'm and LA kid, I gotta love LA...but there's too many people on the Lakerbandwagon. So I gotta represent the ClipShow- LA Clippers

5: What player do you want to play with sometime in NBA ?

Wow, there are too many. I love to run, that's my game. I guess someone like Blake Griffin or Amar'e Stoudemire, big guys that can keep up with me should be fun!

6: What kind of draft pick are you hoping for ?

#1 of course! Haha. I just want to be in a good position for my career and to help my team.

7: You played with Cal Poly. Why did you join Cal Poly?

Coming out of High School I wasn't recruited at all, I was more focused with school and other things anyways. It was close to me and I liked what they had to offer education-wise, getting known after our NCAA DII finals appearance and then winning the championship last year to help get me known was just a bonus.

8: How are your teammates ?

My teammates? They are great, they are my family. I know they are very proud of me and I hope to represent them well come June.

9: What is your biggest strength ?

It has to be a tie between my speed and being clutch. Physically I have the tools to go by anyone...I mean ANYONE, and that really helps. But when I'm on the court, I win games...I take the last shot...and I make them to win games.
