What was with all the people thinking Memphis could beat San-Antonio is all I'm going to say. I hear people saying they won the season series and all this and I was thinking to myself, wasn't Duncan injured. Then on the broadcast they say he didn't play at all in 2 and went down 7 minutes into the game in one.

Good luck Memphis

So many blowouts today, 16 points, and 2- 24 point games. I thought New York would put up a better fight, but that was garbage, Marbury really lost that matchup. 2 assists?

0points 0 assists for Marbury in the 2nd half, just a humilating game. They better straighten up or this series can get ugly and knowing Isiah, he will pull the trigger on anther deal if all the games are blow outs.

Damn what a sorry ass game, Im not to fund of this W at all.

At first it looked like the Lakers would whoop the Rockets asses with that 7-0 run and great defense in the first half, but from the second half starting things were getting terrible, Kobe doing the Sac trick again + forcing way to many shots, Karl thinking he was in his prime, Shaq not making Freethrows, GP letting Francis rive trough everybody.

It was amazing that it was a playoff game, Lakers only scored 9 points in the 3th quarter, just 1 more then their worst in 2000 against Portland when they scored 8.

If the Lakers dont get their things going next game or if they somehow get past this round and face the Spurs....it will be over and start preparing for the next season, because garbage basketball like this is unacceptable Imo, and specially around the playoff time

He said:

"Man ref- u need to call a tech foul on O'neal...he's too fat plus he stinks...can u hear those noises?"

Ref says: "Wat- those noises...isnt that all the shoes squeaking on the surface?"

Yao: "No way man- theres some serious gas goin on round here! Any more and I'll be dead!"

agreed

it's only one game but it seems there are some big concerns for this lakers team most notably:
-karl malone's ankle injury appears more serious then he's letting on. the dude looked like he was playing on one leg yesterday.
-francis was constantly getting past payton
-shaq's atrocious free throw shooting was even more atrocious

lal was fortunate to come away with a W. i'm thinking the rockets knew they should have gotten this one and will play much more confident in the next game.

After JJ's shot clanged off the side of the rim, I lay motionless on the floor for a good 10 minutes.

Rox had this one... they really had a golden opportunity to shock a team of 4 hall-of-famers and give themselves a real chance to win this series....

If Yao had even just a finger on that airball by Kobe, the game would have been completely different....

Just saw Lakers-Rockets

Lakers defeated the Rockets 98-84

Karl Malone had a great game with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, some early calls on Shaq which caused him to sit on the bench, but Karl took over his job of defending Yao Ming and did a heck of a job, great improvement from last game.

Kobe was playing great most night, 36 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists, he was going agressive to the rim beginning the 1st quarter, as he scored like 9 points after 5 minutes, was forcing a bit in the second and third, but improved that in the 4th quarter as he let the other players more into the offense.

Steve Francis was the 1st Rocket since Hakeem Olajuwon to get a triple double in the playoffs, and only 4 Rockets players have done that before.

Shaq had a career playoff low 7 points, his old career low was 8 I think against the Utah Jazz in the 1997 playoffs but Im not sure.

The Lakers played alot better comparing this game with game 1, they made some stupid fouls troughout the game, causing them to be in foul trouble early in the quarters, but they will improve that for next game I hope lol.
