I've been thinking of this...
Player A averages 25 pts 5 asts 5 rebs
Player B averages 13 pts 10 asts 10 rebs
Who is better? (not considering if the team is winning or not i'm just strictly talking in a statistical sense)

on a random team i'd say B because thats a triple double night in and night out which is much harder to do than scoring 25 with 5 and 5.
B is like Jason Kidd pretty much

b, because only one other player has ever averaged a triple double a game over a season.

Player B is obviously the better all-around player, and averaging a triple double is not an easy feat. Taking team success and the other players on the roster into account, Player A might be the better choice. But statistically speaking, Player B is more impressive.

Sounds like Kobe vs Kidd for me, so I'd pick Kobe

I think it can be worked out this way:
Player A: 25 pts 5 ast
lets say all 5 assists end up as 2 points
that mean palyer A will contribute 35 points to his team.
Player : 13 pts 10 ast
player B will contribute 33 points to his team.
from just those to stats i'd say player A is better for his team, but player B would be a better player...
although if u add in the rebounds, Player B is much better

I don't know, I mean like Oscar said back in his time if you score 10 points, it doesn't count towards a triple double, you gotta put up some real points.
25 points 5 rebounds and 5 assists is something that someone like Tmac, Kobe, Pierce, Ray Allen, Carter would put up.
13 points, 10 boards, 10 dimes, I guess Sura now but their's really no comparison.
I think its about equal but the triple double player has a slight edge.

Player A averages 25 pts 5 asts 5 rebs
Player B averages 13 pts 10 asts 10 rebs
In this case, I'd pick Player B, because 10 assists & 10 rebounds is HUGE!
But, let's say, if Player A averages 20 pts 5 asts 5 rebs
and Player B averages 15 pts 5 ass 10 rebs.
Then it's harder to choose. It also depends on the position you play. And there are things that do not appear in stats...
