Best Dunker In NBA History!!

Postby VCFAN on Thu Apr 08, 2004 9:19 am

Who do you think is? Who has the creativity or the power in their dunk that puts them #1 on your list? (This post has probably been done many times in the past, sorry if it bothers you).

PS. If you feel someone outside the NBA might be better you can mention their names as well.

Um...I think you're forgetting someone...

Aside from that...James White should get consideration in the "Outside the NBA" category.

Surely, you can't expect the guy to take out Shaq and put in that deadbeat Jordan.

Oh guys I am sorry about the no jordan thing. I am such an idiot for leaving him out of the list. I was think about him when I was making the poll and I guess I thought I added him already and them clicked submit.

Sorry once again. That was a careless error.

Dominque Wilkens and Michael Jordan...

I think having Kobe, Shaq, LeBron, Mason, McGrady and Spudd Webb on that list is bad.
They are not near the same class as the other guys... You even left out some great dunkers...

Sure it sucks that he didn't include Jordan, but he didn't mean too. I just thought that he already added him.

I don't think you can't edit the polls, if you can't, just make a new thread (Y)

Why is Julius Erving getting so many votes. The only thing he ever has done was he was the first one to create the free throw line dunk but it wasn't even that good. Basically everyone on the list except spudd webb, and porbly shaq can do the free throw line dunk.

I have never seen Julius Erving playing, but I have only watched a few short videos. But I can say that I prefer much more the Jordan dunk from the FT line than the Erving one.

Many wrote that Jordan should be in the list. I agree. For me Jordan is the one who was delivering the most beautiful dunks at slam dunk contests.

But if you're talking about slam dunks delivered in games, I think McGrady is the best dunker (at the moment, not of all-time).

I think Shaq should not have been in the list, because most of the other players in the list are guards and small forwards. So it's hard to compare.
What is sure is that Shaq is the most powerful dunker of all-time.

I saw most of Dr.J's career(ABA & NBA), and this man was one of the greatest dunkers of all time. You can't judge him based on watching a few videos - jeez! I'm still amazed at his windmill dunk over Michael Cooper in the 1980 NBA Finals.

For real, y'all need more old skool players on that list - where's David 'Skywalker' Thompson, Darnell "Dr. Dunkenstein' Hillman and Darryl 'Chocolate Thunder' Dawkins? Dawkins was breaking rims when Shaq was in diapers!
