The Next Ben Wallace???

Postby Boyk on Thu Apr 08, 2004 1:29 am

Samuel Dalembert!!
with maybe a little more offensive skill then Ben.
Samuels realy turned it on lately, and has looked pretty damn good with iverson missing.

Last 5 games:

12.8ppg 15.4rpg 4.6bpg 31-55FG's

He also had a 13pnt 14reb 9blk performance :D

anyone else noticed this guy lately??

How can you not notice this guy?
He's shown promise while playing as a backup all year, beeing effective with limited time.
He is the only positive in Philadelfia's season, and has had Chris Ford raving about him after each of the latest (surprising) victories.
Willie Green has stepped up a notch also.
Strange things happen when you don't have a guy shooting 35 times each game...

Your saying it now?He started to have those 12 point 10 rebound 3 block games few months back.I wanted to see Samuel getting more time at the start of the season but no,thank god we got those injuries :P
He would be a lot better if he would learn some post moves but I ain't haitin' the guy was injured the entire last season.

For real. You find out that you have this thing called "a team".

I tought I would see some huge Draft Prospect, that looks like Ben Wallace in the Physical way lol, but yeah Dalembert is a good player.

Got very good hops for someone his size, and his arms are longs as hel, a combo of that and the result is a good shotblocker

i think that dalembert resembles ratliff more then wallace.

he was having some decent games when iverson was still playing. i think his big games have a lot more to do with him taking advantage of the minutes opened up by marc jackson and derrick coleman's injuries, not AI shooting a lot.

He is the only positive in Philadelfia's season

kenny thomas is averaging a double double- 13&10, both career highs. willie green's been putting up some good numbers on 'o' as well

Me too. Dalembert is longer and thinner than Ben is. He has a Ratliff type body.

Dalembert may be proof that you can't always write a player off because he's barely seen during his first couple of years in the league. I'm not going to pretend that I believed in him all along, because I've never really given him much thought. With guys like Dalembert and Flip Murray performing well when given a chance, it makes you wonder who else might be buried on the bench that might surprise us given the opportunity.

i always knew Dalemberts talented and i watched him all season long. i thought about starting a topic bout him a couple times but i thought he wouldnt get alotta respect here. anyway im glad he could play that good in the absence of guys like DC and Jackson. because of the lack of good big men in the weak east he mite become an allstar soon if he keeps on learning and improving and if he gets enough time on the court

This is why the Charlotte Bobcat's draft will be so interesting. :D

it'll be good to see some "young nobody's" with small contracts get drafted by charlotte and get some major minutes and we'll watch them grow as players and put up k-rad stats. (Y) ooo i can't wait!

Just look at Memphis season. Playing 10 guys in a game...what if every team played like that?? I bet there would be a lot more surprises.

Speaking of Ratliff he is playing amazingly in Portland. I saw the Lakers-Blazers game the other day and the guy is just that, amazing. Against the Lakers he had 4 blocks and should of had 5 on a bs goaltending call.

Youre talking about the dunk right? well....the ball went trough the rim, and bounced of Theo´s head or shoulder I dont know, and bounced its way out of the rim, so why was it a BS call?

No, not that there was a lay-up where the refs thought the ball hit the backboard first where it clearly didn't.
I was so surprised that they called that dunk right. That was tough to see, one of the announcers wasn't even sure after seeing a slow-motion replay.

I saw the Philly vs. Knicks game today where Dalembert blocks 9 shots,I last saw an Sixers game in february and I can tell that Dalembert has improved much,he's catching 95% of those alley-oop passes and his rebounding in traffic has improved a lot.
