NBA 2k11 PC Patch Released - Impressions

How long did it take you all to apply the patch? The patch is hanging when I get to the first window and need to click next to advance, but I can't.

It took a few uncomfortable minutes searching my drive for space requirements or whatever, but I just let it be and it eventually installed. I actually installed it twice after reverting back to the default cavs court so I could get the official patched one.

Yeah, just had to be patient and it finally allows me to patch it.

@karl- You should try Armor and Sword slider at OS website.. And make it as your base..

No not online. It is from a shop named Datablitz here in the Philippines (they have a website, you can check it out). Im pretty sure they sell originals. They have full range of games for consoles and PC. The DVD I got has the full box with the hologram logo and the manual with code.

Datablitz is pretty much everywhere here. It is easy to buy original here nowadays. I believe my other countrymen will (hopefully) agree with me.

Now, I believe you do have an original.haha. Then uninstall is the best way dude...for now, but I'm not still sure.

try the opposite of what u downloaded

If u downloaded US version download the euro version

Also as said try uninstalling and reinstalling

Maybe the store/market u bought from was selling downloaded pirated versions

I bought mine at datablitz also. i tried installing the euro patch and was not successful. i reinstalled and applied US version. works fine now! The datablitz version may have come from US thus its US version.

How should I know if the patch is working? I can't see any changes in the game right now, and I don't really know if the patch is working for me..

hahaha.. told u! I did the uninstall and reinstall (in english) like 3 times and still cant run the game.

the patch installed properly on both versions of the patch. i just thought it is from EU because the error says i have to put the orignal EU DVD in... ow well still failed anyway.

A few questions.

1. Does the patch install automatically? How can I tell?

2. If I install the patch, will I have to "re-mod" it or will the mods not be affected?

no mods will be affected, if it installs, you wont have errors

From PH, I think Datablitz only carries U.S version, 2K10 was also a US ver.,

Installed the US patch and twas good - no prob; and I got buttloads of mods, even duplicates of savefiles in the App Data folder. Never even had to reinstall.

Make sure you all delete the player progression file in your saves directory like the patch notes stated so that it can properly be updated.

half time comparison still annoying... for example, the game will preview and talks about DWade (Heat) and KBryant (Lakers) or someone on half time performance, Then in the end preview on half time comparison (the one with the portraits) it's RFelton or Some other player and not the one they preview in-game.
i thought its also updated because on my first 2 games with the patch i played, it's ok (nice i told to myself), but, when played again wew...to no avail.

All in all i like the new animations, banging of bodies and changing of shots in mid-air when some defenders challenge your shots...

Cavs court seemed to be the same (i had a patched version installed), and they didnt include the new jerseys for the Hornets/Timberwolves/Magic again.....same as last year.


If you dont live in North America, download the European patch.

The jerseys are in the game, you just have to unlock it with reditor, and the court is new, it overwrote my old custom one...

I have the digital version. I ran the patch and now I also get this:

No disc inserted.

Everyone that has a digital version and is downloading a DISC VERSION of the patch - wich is available at 2ksports official website - may have some problem. I mean, c'mon, let's think about just a little bit... If I have a digital version of the game and I'm downloading the disc version of the patch, it won't work... Right...?
BUT if you have digital version of the game and downloaded the digital version of the patch, and still it's not working, the only things to do are: call support or someone is lying about having a digital version when it's actually a illegal copy.
For those that have that kind of illegal game should not expect that here people would help, I mean, there's no way to pass that securom thing via legal solutions.
And I'll repeat myself: for those that have the original game, bought in a digital distributor or something, first of all: you MUST install the right version of the patch(digital/disc, US/EU) and if you can't make it work call support or something, you should probably have an especific patch for your kind of DD.

about the player progression file, what's the first thing to do? should i delete my current player progression file first in my saves directory before installing the patch? if so, is it automatically created the first time you run the new patched nba 2k11.exe?

It doesn't matter when you delete it, since the game will create a new one.
