Reasonable choices in my opinion. As far as Boozer is concerned, he's averaging 20 and 10 (alright, 19.8 and 10.2, but close enough) and the Bulls have the fourth best record in the league as of this post, so I feel he had a case. I'm not going to be a homer and call it a travesty but I don't think his selection would've been unreasonable.

I should pick Kevin Love to replace Yao Ming. I should have picked him instead of Tim Duncan, just compare their stats. Duncan is a great player, but K-Love means more to his team than Tim Duncan does this year.

Well earned, he deserves the recognition despite the Timberwolves' struggles.

Nash is the biggest snub. He deserves to be an all-star. It's sad to see that people see this as a popularity contest. It's sad to see that they picked Paul over Nash in the starting spot. Nash averages more points than Paul 16.7-16.5 and has higher assists than Paul 11.1-9.8. Nash is also shooting at a higher efficiency (52.5%-41.3%-91.4%) than Paul (48.5%-44.9%-90.4%) except for 3pt percent. As a fan, I like Nash's style of play more than Paul's. Nash is the biggest snub, but Paul has been better, and is the better overall player. Not sure why he isn't considered an MVP candidate (he's a lot better than Derrick Rose), but his shooting is more efficient (gets to the line more), and he actually plays defense.

Nash should be in over Duncan, though.

Nash deserved those MVPs cause he was the mvp of this team as his tried to lead his team to a succesful season. He is an mvp cause he makes his teammates better. In those seasons, I think all the starters excluding Nash were having career-highs because Nash chooses to pass, not to score, if he did choose to score, he'd average maybe, 24ppg-8apg.

Nobody cares who is the overall player, what counts is who is having a better season and Nash is having a better season than Paul almost in aspect of the game(maybe except for defense). Nash's shooting is more efficient. 52.5%>48.5% = simple math?

Nobody except the spurs I think agree with the Duncan pick. Nash or Aldridge could've been in his spot. They're giving the "Lifetime Achievement Award" to Duncan.

Nash is not having a better season than Paul. With a rather similar caliber of supporting cast, Paul's team is 5.5 games above than Nash's. I'll give you the shooting argument, though it is 63.7>61.3, not 52.5>48.5 that counts. However, Paul averages .271 win shares per 48 to Nash's .188 and isn't a liability on defense.

Don't get me wrong, Nash is my favorite player ever and deserves to be an all-star - just not at Chris Paul's expense.

Still doesn't change the fact that the MVP is a popularity contest since it's based on how many votes a player gets from the NBA media.

Lamrock, I think Paul can't be considered an MVP candidate because his season is rather "unspectacular" compared to his best season two years ago. Might be his knee limiting him to less minutes, but his 22/5/11 and 2.8 steals per game from 08 09 have raised the bar a bit.


About Nash ... I only hope they will free him this deadline. Probably won't happen, but it's a shame that a player like him has to go through rebuilding at the age of 37. (he turned 37 five days ago ... pretty old )

My reply was about you posting that team records count. Well, to prove to you that team records DON'T count, I put the question "How about Kevin Love? The wolves are having a horrible season yet he's still an all-star"----proving that records dont't count.

Kevin Love was picked by David Stern as a replacement. The other reserves were voted by the coaches. So yeah, numbers in the W-L column do count for the voters (coaches).
