Kevin Durant?... mmm... Not pretty sold on that.. He's shooting just 34% from deep

Snubs: (First number means position in 3pt leaderboard)

4) Chris Paul: 56-124 / 45,2%
8) Mike Bibby: 101-228 / 44,8%
11) Kevin Love 69-159 / 43.4%
12) Anthony Morrow 65-150 / 43,3%
25) Kevin Martin 115-282 / 40,8%
37) Jason Richardson: 121-305 / 39,7%

By the way, Kevin Durant is ranked T-93 (with Ryan Gomes and Luol Deng ) with a 34,7% (85-245)

Even LeBron is shooting better threes than him (65-183 for 35,5%)

yeah the thing with durant for me is that people always sees his ridiculous 3s from 30+ feet but they don't realize how many misses it takes to get them. im pretty sure mike miller has participated in the event but i wouldve liked to see him in it again, bad thumb and all

Durant stands out as a somewhat unexpected choice given his percentage but on the whole that's a good field. I'll pick Allen to win, which would seem only appropriate in a season where he'll become the all-time leader in threes made.

Durant being in this is the one that makes me scratch my head a bit. I'm surprised Anthony Morrow has never been invited to this yet. Was also hoping perhaps they'd invite Stephen Curry back. If I remember correctly, he shot well in the first round, and started off well in the final round but then started bricking towards the end.

This. I also kinda think one of the little-known guys will win. I don't remember how Boobie Gibson did last time he was in the contest, but I could see him winning and then the NBA spinning it as the biggest victory of the season for Cleveland... which it would be

Pierce and Allen will both flunk out in the first round like the last time they squared off. ;)

I think Allen will win it

Well he is shooting well from beyond the arch on January(over 50% i think) and 46.2% for the season so he has a hot hand and it may carry through the contest. He IS one of the best pure shooters in NBA history. My point is he has the highest chance of winning cause he's been shooting well from 3 these days.
Qballer wrote:he finished 5th, 4th, and 3rd in his last 3 contests
He didn't shoot the 3 well compared to now.
Qballer wrote:and hasn't done it in a while so my pick is James Jones

What about Jones? Allen hasn't done it in a while but Jones hasn't BEEN in one yet so he has to adjust first.

A) he's the 3rd option in BOston and he was always the focus of defenses before he got traded there, so he gets a ton of wide-open looks now. B) in Milwaukee he was shooting 43% as the main man and he won the contest when he was in Milwaukee.

he is as good as a shooter as he has ever been. people like ray don't go through slumps, he's always been this good at 3s. and it's only been half a season, i would imagine his 3PT% will come down to around 43-44%

Who in the right mind would give Allen a TON?! of wide-open looks?!?!

He's warmed up now and the contest is just days away. I don't think he's gonna choke. He's RAY ALLEN.

A lot of teams, actually. When you've got KG, Shaq, Rondo, and Pierce on the floor, it's actually not that hard to momentarily forgot about ray ray.

plus, they execute plays very well, with a lot of off-ball screens & flare screens to get him open. youd be surprised at how many people dont rotate over or lay on screens to give him a wide open 3.
