As far as the Dean Smith anecdote I provided, it's fairly obvious that you guys don't understand it so I'm not going to dumb it down.
i think different meanings can be taken from your little 'anecdote' and just because people dont agree with you it doesnt give you the right to insult them. i dont think thats fair, and if you were more mature i wouldnt have to slum it and tell you so.
heres your dean smith quote:
After Dean Smith won his first national championship, Roy Williams his assistant at the time, said, "Now you can get 'em off your back about not winning a championship." Coach Smith replied, "I'm no better coach now than I was five minutes ago."
the meaning you take from it is that dean smith has always been a good coach and he didnt need a championship to prove it. the meaning i take from it is that dean smith has always been a good coach and won a championship because of it.
stepping on opponents necks? you mean the way utah beat golden state in the first round in '89? oh yeah, thats right, they didnt. you mean the way utah devestated phoenix in '90? oh yeah, thats right, they didnt. or maybe when utah humiliated portland in 91? oh yeah, thats right, they didnt. heck, malone only made it to the finals twice and quite obviously never capitalized. where it all inevitably leads is the fact that malone hasnt won when it mattered and duncan has; thats all it comes down to (my personal opinion) when comparing two players whom are both great.
on a sidenote, i dont mean to attack you, but id appreciate it if you looked at an argument from different point of views before giving in to pride and bias, i would rather you argue your case in an intelligent way rather than try to subtly insult people by talking down to them. giving the reason that you're too smart to back your own opinions in a knowledgable way only defines true ignorance. thats just what i think though, and by all means you could and should do and think whatever you want
