Who still thinks hes nothing without Jason Kidd!
Everytime someone says he sucks without JK ive always said he has worked on his game that much that hes becoming a really good player.

Look at the numbers hes put up with Kidd on the injured list.
Hes become a good all-round player, Defence,Shooting,Taking it to the Rim,Passing,Rebounding.

It seems that Team USA expirence really paid off.

Now where are all the people who said hes jack without Kidd???
Come on come out!

Here I am, I said he wasnt shit without Kidd...it's due to his play WITH Kidd that he's become a better player.

Jefferson without Kidd would still be zilch.

I was just gonna post a topic like this. I have noticed his extreme improvment as the season continued. I've noticed his offence step up even more without kidd and Martin on the team. He is now the leading scorer on the Nets (ahead of Kidd and Martin) and still shoots a really high percentage.

Keep it up. Maybe in a year or so he will lead the team ahead of Kiddd and Martin.

After his rookie year I was pretty confident in his abilities. Obviously Kidd helps him a lot, but he would not suck without Kidd.

Wed Mar 31, 2004 8:35 am

No, he wouldn't suck. He would be a younger, bald Ricky Davis.

houston wishes they had him back now.
look at what happened to eddie griffin! he's in jail now.

Did he actually improve? Numbers please...

Thu Apr 01, 2004 12:02 am

come on tales, thats like saying: did carlos boozer improve, numbers please?

His numbers dont really explain it, u gotta watch him play.
Hes put up superb numbers while kidds been out, and has played even better, which shows Kidd doesnt make him a player.

Hes even got a 3 point shot now

That's the worst part of him. That's like asking someone to watch Michael Redd playing to prove he's improved.

At least I like watching Carlos Boozer playing, he's a beast, but whoever who loves to watch Jefferson playing, needs cable or at least league pass, lol.

What's not fun about watching a 6'7" high-flying swingman who runs the floor and has a pretty J? It's not like he's Danny Fortson...

Thu Apr 01, 2004 11:22 pm

Thank you EG (Y)

His numbers over the last 5 are:

27.0ppg 8.2rpg 6.2apg 1.6spg 47-90FG's 6-15 3-Pnt.
Is that impressive enough for yous??

Also, check out Bob Sura and Chris Crawford as of late

esp the number of assists is impressive, and yeah, he also improved his J and is pretty solid from the field now

high-flying?, lol. Please don't make him look like Jason Richardson, now.
Also, you're a Nets' fan or supporter, you love everything that is there so why should I argue with you about a particular Nets player not being fun to watch?, you think that's fun, that's ok with me. I'm not a fan of ridiculous dunks (back) tho.

As for Jefferson, he's ok, he's getting numbers, producing, etc. But I don't see him over the level. He's in the Michael Redd, Ronald Murray, Ron Artest category. Not like a real player who can take over a game and if he gets to a team like Atlanta where he would be the star, I don't see him taking the team anywhere, which makes him just a good role player.

Fri Apr 02, 2004 10:02 pm

you put Ronald Murry in the same category as Michael Redd and Ron Artest?

That made no sense!
In that case Tracy Mcgrady is a Good ROLE Player

Also another guy playing well with J-Kidd and K-Mart missing

Lucious Harris Last 5 Games:

19.0ppg 5.6rpg 4.8apg 1.2spg 36-74FG 9-18 3Pnt

"Everybody wants to play the New Jersey Nets. Everybody wants to play us. It's kind of funny, when we have our whole team, nobody wants to play us. Nobody's jumping in line to play us when we have our whole team. As soon as our two All-Stars go out, everybody wants to talk about how vulnerable we are and how they'd like to play the Nets."
-- G/F Richard Jefferson, in the NY Daily News, on the lack of respect his team gets when stars G Jason Kidd and F Kenyon Martin are injured. Members of the Knicks and Heat have said the two-time Eastern champion Nets are vulnerable

personally, i think that jefferson wouldnt be half the player he is right now if hadnt had the oppurtunity of playing and learning with jason kidd. that said, he is a good player, but he's no tracy mcgrady.

ginoboli can put up great numbers while duncans out but it doesnt mean he's the second coming. on that note, i would take ginoboli in a nutshell over jefferson if i absolutely had to pick between the two.

That's what I've been saying all along.

I wholeheartedly agree. The thing is he needs to feed off others to excel and he is not very good at creating his shot. He'll never be a star but I can see him being a very solid role player.

Sat Apr 03, 2004 6:34 pm

i agree with everybody who says he plays this way because of J-Kidd. Maybe Kidd is injured now and Jefferson still puts up numbers but its not ONLY because of Kidd but also because of the Nets' style of playing, Jefferson runs the fast break very well but i dont know what would happen if he played on a team with a slower offense

Thats different, you'd rather take a guy who will put up 20pnts 5 and 5 one night, then the next shoot like crap and disappear, Ginobili is way too inconsistent, even said by popovich himself.
Well he used the word unpredictable, coz you dont know what game his gonna bring with him.

RJ at least has some consistency, with JK or no JK.

Yes hes a had a great pg so far in his early career and thats really helped him become a decent player, but dont forget, he said hes learned so much from playing on that USA team, about there dedication and hard work, its rubbed off on him, and now everytime i see the nets play, hes added something different.
