Late in the game, Bryant got a defensive rebound, turned and fired a perfect lead pass to Rick Fox at the other end of the court for an easy layup. Bryant held his arms up and signaled touchdown as the crowd roared.

I think you're not giving KG enough credit here, his numbers remain very impressive this season. I personally don't think Kobe will get MVP recognition as long as he plays alongside Shaq. That's not a knock on Kobe, Shaq's dominance and importance to the Lakers simply overshadows Kobe's performance.
Singer / Actress Vanessa Williams is offering insight on Kobe Bryant's court dilemma.
As the wife of his Laker teammate, Rick Fox, Williams believes that it would have been beneficial for Bryant to go to college instead of going pro directly from high school.
Noting that college allows for a person to "figure out who you are," Williams believes that it would have helped Bryant "go through experiences that are not covered by the press."
Williams says that she still doesn't know a lot about certain aspects of the NBA and that's a good thing. She says hubby Fox never filled her in on the female drama and that she was "quite naive" about life on the road in the NBA.

His importance and his play on court are also vital to lakers.
Shaq cant be replaced of course, but IMO Kobe cant either.
Dusting off the old MJ comparisons again, one of the differences I've noticed having watched both players is that while MJ took a lot of shots, he tended to pass the ball around a little more before doing so, especially after Phil became head coach. Kobe tends to shoot the jumper or take it to the basket as soon as he gets the ball in the frontcourt, not always, but often.
