I never understood the concept of giving a corporation lots of money for little chemical sticks that make you stink, hinders running, and turn your teeth nasty. I see absolutely no benefit.
If it was an isolated incident or just a trend I saw in a few friends, i wouldn't have posted that. It was literally 3/4 of the bar population outside smoking when they outlawed smoking inside. People who didnt drink smoked. People who were extremely healthy in every other aspect, smoked. I never thought that many people smoked. Nowadays I pretty much assume people smoke unless I'm told otherwise its so common in my age-group. I dont know why. It just seems to be big currently in the places ive been despite the extra "awareness" referenced by others. It never stopped anybody. Dont see why its changed now. Maybe its dependent on region. But yeah, i was against cigs until I was 21. Then I had 3-4 that first night (that i didnt pay for). I bought one pack on a whim (st patricks day)...and bummed the other time. So ive spent a whole 4.50 on the "habit" Spent more on candy bars in a week before.
Once again, I agree with you guys about long term effects and i do agree that 20 a day is too many or whatever. Shits expensive, and will fucking kill you. But people will always find ways to kill themself and justify it. *shrug* Dunno. Just not as anti as I used to be. To each their own and as long as when im around you're not blowing it in my face, i dont give a shit anymore. You wanna hack up a lung at 35, thats your business. But saying you will never will have one at 17 or under is insanity. You have your whole life ahead of you and your world view WILL change. Its not a question of different experiences, its a question of a little thing called maturing. People act like we're all individualistic and have our own special experiences but you boil it all down, 99% of human experience is universal. Shit happens and it happens to everyone
