Nice win, the garbage time diary is fun ;) You seem to be pretty good with LA. He's just too soft imho. Jason Thompson actually is a poor man's LA I found out :D (a better rebounder though)

BATUM SHAKA LAKA!!! $%&#*$%$%$%#@!!!

kinda confused about the re-boot but it works... LMA is a BEAST! (Y)

The classes are nearly full, but there is one spot in the 2012 draft class for any interested.

if no one's claimed it, i do. just need to send you my guy

Nice to see Marks getting some garbage minutes (Y)

Saw highlights of Roy's last game IRL. Although he's still got his super IQ & will have his good nights, he seems to have lost the bounce he had in his step & less explosiveness. I downgraded his rating in my Association from 88 to 84 just by dropping all athletic, durability & potential ratings.

Re: [1-0] Welcome to the Garden of Oden | Season Opener @ TO

Sun Nov 28, 2010 11:16 am

Yeah, Roy's still a pretty decent offensive player. However, he can probably only be relied upon for about 60 games per year, and he is now the SG equivalent to Jose Calderon defensively. (N)

i bet triano's out buying new clipboards to break after that win over the raps

Haha, I'm starting to really like Triano. Was planning on firing him in Saur Losers, but he's won me over with his swearing in interviews, temper and actually decent coaching ability.

Expect this to speed up soon. Have been a bit preoccupied with slider editing and computer troubles lately, but stay tuned for more soon.

Nic "The Bric" Will Miss 2-4 Weeks!

Adding Injury To Insult
Batum strains achilles, while Fernandez and Aldridge sustain minor Injuries In blowout loss.

November 5, 2010 - Turrible. Just absolutely fucking turrible. Thanks to some uninspired offense, injuries and no defense whatsoever, the Nets (yes, the 12-70 last year Nets) blew us out 119-103. In an unwatchable game that saw the Nets lead nearly the entire game, three players went down with injuries, and Terrence Williams and Anthony Morrow combined for 59 points. 59!

The game started well enough, with LaMarcus Aldridge continue his dominant form from the Raptors game. This was until he went down with a knee injury (fuuuuuck!) midway through, sparking a 14-2 Nets run. The Nets continued to outplay us in the second, with Brandon Roy once again being a non-factor, and Andre Miller getting in foul trouble. Aldridge would return late in the second period, but we still went into the half down 11.

The third quarter was a series of futile comeback attempts. Rudy Fernandez played well, getting to the line at will. Unfortunately, being a Frailblazer, he went down with a bruised hip. Aldridge showed little signs of a sore knee and continued to play well, but the rest of the team failed to step up. However, New Jersey never could put us away. When they took a 15 point lead, Nate put in an all-bench lineup, and, led by Armon "Armon Hammer" Johnson, we got within 5, before Morrow and Devin Harris went back to work. Some starters were brought back in, and disaster struck when Nicolas Batum strained his achilles shortly after returning.

New Jersey would pull away to win 119-103. They shot 5-13 from 3 point land to our 5-26 (wtf), and won the battle of the boards 47-36. Terrence Williams enjoyed a career high 31 points on efficient 2-16 shooting, along with 7 assists, and Morrow also had 28. Former Blazer Travis Outlaw scored 10 points. Aldridge had 25 and 7 through the pain, while Brandon had a pedestrian 12 points and 10 assists. Fernandez and Aldridge are not expected to miss time, but Batum will miss two to four weeks. We fall to .500 going into tomorrow's game in Boston. I got $50 on Boston.

Armon Hammer: Like our only good player. | We should trade our entire team for T-Will.

Dante's look really says it all. | Roy may be a shell of his former self, but he's OURS.

Not good for your team man, I think more injuries will come. :P

Re: [1-1] Garden of Oden | Adding injury to insult...

3 injuries in 1 match, that just blows (N) Even more with the loss...

Re: [1-1] Garden of Oden | Adding injury to insult...

Thu Dec 02, 2010 12:23 pm

The Nets are beasts in this game. I got blown out by 30 in my own association by them. Anthony Morrow and Terrence Williams are unstoppable.

Re: [1-1] Garden of Oden | Adding injury to insult...

Thu Dec 02, 2010 6:46 pm

Williams shot 12-16 I guess? Very tough loss, the Nets are pretty good in the game this year (and not the worst IRL), but it seems like the Blazers typical problem is haunting you - injuries.

What I would find quite cool to see, although I am not a fan of unrealistic trades etc ... if you would blow this thing and turn the roster around completely with all those injuries.

Blazers need a rebuild, everybody knows that but nobody really wants to admit it because they still have too much talent on their roster.

Thu Dec 02, 2010 8:56 pm

Injuries continue to plague your team (N)

hova's right, rebuilding is a necessary move now

Re: [1-1] Garden of Oden | Adding injury to insult...

Fri Dec 03, 2010 12:23 am

The Nets are top 5 in the East in 2K11, so it's not that bad. 3 injuries suck though, not unheard of when talking about the Blazers.

Re: [1-1] Garden of Oden | Adding injury to insult...

Fri Dec 03, 2010 2:07 am

Yeah, it'd pain me to get rid of guys like Roy, but a rebuild is looking more and more imminent. This story could take an interesting turn if I continue to play as bad as the real Blazers.

Re: [1-1] Garden of Oden | Adding injury to insult...

Fri Dec 03, 2010 9:29 am

Trade Roy!

But then if he comes around when playing for another team and becomes a perennial All-Star again, that would blow more than losing to the Nets.

You really should trade your whole team (minus Aldridge and Matthews) for T-Will.

Looking mint bro, love garbage time diaries (Y) I didnt get through all the comments, but did you edit Roy or anything to reflect his knee issues? Like reduce his athleticism or something? And I take it you are only playing him limited minutes too by the looks of things.

Hey and a question about the sliders, the lower the fatigue rate the quicker players stanima bar will go down right? (Dumb I know, but I never get round to testing it).

News Roundup: November 14, 2010

It has been a busy couple of weeks in Blazer land. We have learned many things: Brandon Roy sucks now, Greg Oden will miss another season, and our future is no longer bright. However, more developments have surfaced: two trades have happened: one of them minor, the other a blockbuster. Furthermore, Nate will be moving Roy's corpse to the second unit. Yes! It is also great to see us not trade Andre Miller for Gortwat...

Rockets Acquire Terrence Williams In Three-Team Deal

Image November 10, 2010 - Today, it was announced that swingman Terrence Williams has been dealt to the Houston Rockets in a three-way deal. The Nets will receive the Lakers' top 18 protected 2011 first rounder, Sasha Vujacic('s expiring) and the Rockets' lottery protected 2012 first rounder. The Lakers will receive washed-up big man Joe Smith and a pair of second rounders. The Nets added a couple draft picks and an expiring for a potential Carmelo Anthony trade, Houston added a promising young swingman and the Lakers saved over $8 million dollars while bolstering their front line.

Magic Make 2 Blockbuster Trades, Add Arenas, Turkoglu, Richardson and Clark

Image November 12, 2010 - Today, the Magic have announced a pair of blockbuster trades. The first of which will send struggling, washed-up veteran SG Vince Carter, brainless athletic swingman Mickael Pietrus, Polish center Marcin Gortat and a 2011 first rounder to the Suns for former Magic Hedo Turkoglu, athletic SG Jason Richardson and bust Earl Clark. They then traded Ra$hard Lewi$'s corpse for insane scoring guard Gilbert Arenas. When asked about the trades, Magic GM Otis Smith simply said, "fuck it".

Blazers G Roy To Come Off Bench

Image November 13, 2010 - Blazers guard Brandon Roy will come off the bench in the Blazers' home debut against the Milwaukee Bucks. The fifth year guard has struggled thus far this season, posting career lows across the board. The struggles can likely be attributed to the fact that both of his knees were revealed to be completely devoid of meniscus. Wesley Matthews will start in his place. Roy was not available for comment, but according to a source, the three-team all-star was overheard sobbing.

Good to see those trades done. I think I may execute them in the offseason in mine, because I really like every move made and it adds some realism.
