Memphis grizzlies/time to growl

The memphis grizzlies have been a struggeling team for many years, the fans want it, the coach wants, and the gm wants it. What's the it that everyone wants? Its time for a change, the city of memphis deserves a winning sports franchise, and being the new gm of the grizzlies, i'm going to do my best to make the grizzlies, a winning team.

One thing we needed is a big man to compliment Zack Randolph, who is an offensive threat inside. So i had to make a change at the center position, i made a trade with the hawks sending point gaurd Marcus Williams (Who is a free agent this year) and center Marc Casol to the Hawks, for former gator Al Horford.

So the roster now looks like this

We have several goals that we want to accomplish this year
1.Resign Rudy Gay
2.Win 35 to 40 games
3.Draft a top rookie who can score and play defense
4.Bring some defensive minded players to this team to compete in the west and for the division crown

More updates to come later.

Nail bighter against the knicks in overtime

The game started out close with both teams making most of their shots, but then later in the 1st quartor, the grizzlies started taking control and took a 10 point lead. The grizzlies had full control of the first half but we did have problems. Sam Young was shooting too many threes and missing, and we didn't have a decent three point shooter.

In the first half the grizzlies were basically an inside oriented team with Horford scoring inside and especially Zack Randolph who made some huge buckets for the grizzlies inside the paint and was dominating the boards. Jamal Tinsley tried to become a passer and get it to the open players but he could hardly get the ball to anyone.

At half time in the locker room, the coach of the grizzlies preached defense, and told his team to continue to go inside to Horford and Randolph. He told Thabeet and Horford to block shots and rebound, and he told Mike Conley Jr. to pass the ball to the open men inside, and to Rudy Gay.

In the 2nd half though, the knicks fought back, and it went back and fourth in the 4th with both teams making their shots, especially from outside. Sam Young missed some cluth shots, Ronny Brewer stepped up big in place of the injured O.J. Mayo, who got hurt early in the 1st half. Brewer had 12 points off the bench for the game.

At the end of 4 quartors, the game was tied 58 to 58. It was a good defensive game until over time, the hero in overtime was Rudy Gay who made clutch three, after clutch 3 to take a big lead. But once again, the knicks fought back, but in the end the grizzlies offense overcame the knicks offense and memphis won the ball game, 88 to 84.

Al Horford had 11 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks

New York knicks players
Al Harrington had 25 points and 8 rebounds
David Lee had 15 rebounds
Tracy Mcgrady had 24 points
Chris Duhon had 15 points and 15 assists

Comments from players and the coach of the memphis grizzlies
Rudy Gay-We won, we won! We should win our home games, especially against teams like the new york knicks, no disrespecting the knicks though. They have some very talented players, Harrington, Lee and Mcgrady were killing us, inside and out. We have to play better defense against our opponents throughout the year, common guys!

O.J. Mayo-Don't worry grizzlie fans, i'm not longer hurt, that collision that i was in just knocked the wind out of me, and i was in pain.

Zack Randolph-That's what i'm talkin about, give me the ball inside, because i'm your main offensive big man, and am the best big man that you have.

Coach-In the end, all that matters is that we won. But there are a few things that we have to work on, our outside defense, and we need better three point shooting, but the main thing is defense, because defense wins games.

Read pretty much any other dynasty or association on the NLSC. For real.

This isn't going to be a traditional dynasty story, i'll just be telling you what's been going on with my dynasty. This is more like what do you think about my dynasty. Such as what do you think of my trades, rookie draftees and player signings. Like i said, this is more like what do you think of my dynasty.

Two big trades
What do you think of these two trades that i made

I sent Jamal Tinsley, Al Horford and Ronnie Brew to the Lakers for Andrew Bynum and Shannon Brown
I made my last trade of the season in order to be a winning team next year in season 2
I traded O.J. Mayo and Zach Randolph to phoenix for Ameri Stoudamire

The draft is strong this year, so i'm planning on drafting a good shooting gaurd to start in place of Brown, I don't know what i'll draft in the second round, maybe a small forward or something. So what do you think of these two trades?

dont like it, but it's good for you.

Horford is better then Bynum.

Re: Memphis grizzlies/time to growl

Sun Nov 28, 2010 3:45 am

I got Bynum because in live 07 it says he's an inside stopper and we have absolutely no defense what so ever until we got Bynum. But, i hope you're right that Horford is better than Bynum so the trade will be fair to the lakers. But do you think i should make any more trades in the offseason? Or what kind of rookies do you think i should draft?

I don't really care if the trade is good for the Lakers. :shifty: Ripping off the lakers is a good thing. :D

How many games have you played? If you're not anywhere close to the deadline, don't think about the offseason yet. and don't close yourself off to any trades, do what you think is best for your team. *cough*bynum*cough*bad*cough*
