Rookie Of The Month:

Player Of The Month:

Image

While the high listed Rookie players like Mutombo and Longley have to miss because of injury issues, two new faces appear on the Rookie Of The Month list.

Donald Hodge, a big man, traded by the Dallas Mavericks as a nb 33rd overall pick from the Temple University. Scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds a game, means a tremendous performance to him but the Mavs are still in the dumps of the league.

Stanley Roberts, the other big man rookie who could acquire our attention this month. With a weight of 285lbs and a size of 7ft 0 he is a rock in the Magics defense. Unfortunataly he seems to be the only rock in the Magics defense this year.

Charles Barkley seems to be on the road to the regular Season MVP. If he continues that kind of play he should be the man. 16.0 rebounds 26.7ppg in January is really awesome.

The Teams:

Boston moved some spots to the top. They are now number 5 and they could be the opponent in the first playoff round for the Bulls. I am a little disappointed about the Hawks performance. They are only at position 12 in the east and far away from the playoffs.

Still a big surprise, of course, the Indiana Pacers. It will be exciting if they can keep that run up. In 90/91 they only made the 7th position in th east with a record of 41-41.

I am concerned about the Raptors. They lost 15 games in a row , but their team doesnt look so bad at all?

The Western Conference doesnt have that much surprising moments for me. The teams in the lead are the ones i envisioned to be. This will be a very close race in the playoffs, every one of those teams seems to have a chance to be the new NBA Champion.

Going over MJ's numbers he doesn't seem as good as the glass or as talented of a passer. If he improves in those areas he might be able to snatch an MVP. It will be still be difficult to catch up to Barkley, Ewing etc..

Grant injured ! That really hurts

The rising star Horace Grant has to take a longer break the next few weeks. Grant who was already injured at the beginning of December drops of because of a strained shoulder. That hurts so much the more because he was a potential Starter at the All Star game next week.

The Jazz really dominated the whole evening, maybe it was the shock of Grants loss that the Bulls played that poor. But on the other side the Jazz also have to struggle with injuries. So their duo "Stockalone" couldnt work together this evening.

The Utah Jazz set up a new season record grabbing 39 rebounds tonight.

Coleman best young talent.

In a very presentable game Derrek Coleman, the Rookie of the Year 1991, showed his abilities leading the Sophomores to a well earned 130 : 123 victory over the Rookies.
He scored 36 points and grabbed 21 rebounds, furthermore he blocked 7 shots. On the other side only Dale Davis was able to play in that kind of business. The highpoint man was Kendall Gill scoring 39 points this evening.
Scott Williams had some insets but he couldnt show up his abilities like he does with the Bulls.

The Toronto connection Brandon to Gatling.

Miller got ripped off on a All-Star experience. Best player on the best team and while guys like Stark and Tarpley make it who have a combined 1 all star appearance.

1992 All Star Game

EAST vs. WEST

114 pts 118

37 reb 37
28 ast 14
10 stl 13
17 blk 8

West All Stars with a close win...

It was a promising start for the Eastern All Stars. Jordans ballhandling led to many spectacular scenes, like this alley oop pass from outside the three point line.

Jordan to Ewing:

Starks kept the Eastern All Stars hopes hitting some crucial 3 pointers.

But the West made a very strong 2nd half and took the lead. Clyde Drexler and John Stockton were the reason for that, together they made 73 points.

C. Drexler hits the basket and got the freethrow.

In the fourth quarter the West led even with more than 15 points. Scottie Pippen took the game on his side and made 11 points within 2 minuites.

But this wasnt enough to catch up with the Western All Stars. Finally the West won with 4 points and John Stpckton was named All Star Game MVP.

Stockton seems to be a straight up monster in here. He completely dominated Jackson who couldn't even score a point despite starting. I bet as Stockton rose up for a tough jumper he yelled out "MAMA THERE GOES THAT MAN".

Maybe the Jazz make it to the Finals . This would be an anticipation of the 97 and 98 Finals. Asumed i make it to the Finals  .

but i am not sure, maybe the Lakers or Portland kick them out :D

I bet on Bulls vs Lakers.

Re: 1991/1992 writing a new history.. CHI with 3 wins

You know I really like that Bobcats lineup. No go to play whatsoever but a bunch of roleplayers. Especially Cage who was hustle rebounding big man. They will look real good and will be fun to see with Mutumbo maybe? (Y) On a side not Pippen seems to had a good round and ended pretty well that game winner against Utah.
