CJ is very trigger-happy in real life, coming from Nellie's system. Don't know about his play-making abilities much. :P

Re: X's T'wolves Association (NBA 2K11) - NLSC MULTIVERSE

Postby The X on Thu Nov 04, 2010 10:35 pm

Image NLSC MULTIVERSE

In the multiverse that this Association is set, some NLSC members are actually legit ballers, believe it or not. Let me introduce a few.

BIG THINGS SOMETIMES COME IN SMALL PACKAGES

William Witt, Saint Mary's, Soph
PG, 5'8", 167lbs, 21 years old
Season Stats: 17ppg, 4apg, 2spg

William Witt is your typical super small guard. He can fill up the scoreboard, he's a bundle of energy and has no shortage of confidence. Some might call it arrogance but I'll call it confidence. Nonetheless, Witt has enjoyed his time with the Gaels and has teamed up with fellow countryman, Matthew Delladova, to create one of the best backcourts in the nation. It will be shortlived though as sophomore Witt has promised that he is going pro at the end of this season, regardless of where he falls in the draft pecking order. Between now and then, we really hope he can develop more of a left hand because he won't be able to score as easily always going right.

Draft Stock: Mid-to-late 1st Round

Interesting Fact #1: Witt followed former AIS teammate Patrick Mills and committed to the Gaels, but never actually got a chance to play with him when Mills left (probably a year too early) to the NBA.

Interesting Fact #2: Witt's just as famous in the college basketball circles for his ever-changing hairstyles as he is for his big game. From his standard short spikey look when he was a freshman, he has had "QB" and "8" shave into side of his head at different times. At the moment it is all about the mohawk, which he said is here to stay, well at least for now.

KIWI CONNECTION IN WISCONSIN

Andy Woodson, Wisconsin, Sr
SG, 6'3", 239lbs, 23 years old
Season Stats: 16ppg, 6rpg, 3apg

Marcel Moore, Wisconsin, Sr
PG, 6'1", 176lbs, 22 years old
Season Stats: 13ppg, 4rpg, 6apg

Both hailing from Canterbury, New Zealand, Woodson and Moore have the unusual distinction of being the starting backcourt for both their college and national representative teams. Whilst Woodson is a perimeter marksman and the team's emotional leader, Moore is the engine that has driven the Badgers to another banner year at the top of the Big Ten.

Draft Stock: Woodson: Mid-to-Late 1st Round; Moore: Mid-to-Late 1st Round

Interesting fact #1: Both players didn't know each other until meeting at Wisconsin as freshmen. Ironically both players individually used their contacts with fellow Tall Black swingman Kirk Penney to open the door for a scholarship offer from the Badgers.

Interesting fact #2: Woodson redshirted his freshman season. Moore arrived a year later.

DRAGON REPPING MIAMI....OF OHIO

Benjamin Dragic, Miami (Ohio), Sr
PF/SF, 6'8", 245lbs, 22 years old
Season Stats: 9ppg, 9rpg, 4bpg

Dragic, or Dragon as he known by his peers, puts the D in the D-MAC. He is not only leading the MAC in blocked shots, but he's also in the top 5 in the nation in that category. Dragic has been forced to play a lot in the pivot for the RedHawks, but he prefers to play offensively as a face-the-basket. Given his size, that's probably not a bad thing as he might have to play both forward positions at the next level. Dragic is a bit of a tweener and that is why his stock is so low.

Draft Stock: 2nd Round

Interesting Fact #1: As a big fan of the Heat's Dwayne Wade, Dragon committed to Miami, hoping to be closer to his basketball idol. It must have been a pretty big shock for Dragon when he landed in Miami of Ohio

WASHINGTON PREP STAR SOON TO BE A WASH

Lambros Washburn, Washington, Fr
PG, 6'2", 177lbs, 18 years old
Season Stats: 13ppg, 6apg, 2spg

Washburn has been called the next Steve Nash by some, but most would call him the poor man's version. He's got the potential to develop into a very good point guard but word is he's already sick of school and will bolt after his freshman season. Considering it's been a bit of an inconsistent freshman season for Washburn, this is a worry. Washburn is not a lock for the first round and therefore should return to college. Another couple of years of seasoning and we may have been talking about a potential mid-to-late lottery pick. Will be interesting to see how this will eend, but at present I'd say that it's a turrible decision by Washburn and his advisers.

Draft Stock: Mid-to-late 1st Round

Interesting Fact #1: Washburn would probably join the Seattle Storm before he would sell out his city and join the Oklahoma City Thunder

Random NLSC Multiverse Fact #1: As you all know in a multiverse, some things are similar yet different. The multiverse that this Association is set means that all NLSC alter egos have 5 o'clock shadows :epicbeardman:

-----
On that note, I'm going to put this wee Association on a slight hiatus until the patch drops. I couldn't stand to have Pau Gasol's morale drop anymore & for him to force a trade whilst out a season injured. I can accept Jameer Nelson, just not Pau. In the meantime I am going to fire up a more easy going Golden State Warriors Association with player roles turned OFF. I might run that one on the side as a fun Association and have an Honor Glow like thread. As always, I appreciate the support. A small break might help my sanity return as it's very hard to play with this T'wolves team

I was being serious... didn't you realise?

Darko >> Greg Oden's knee caps haha

Liked the NLSC multiverse. Made me laugh a lil bit bout Ben... whenever someone asks me bout I always say, 'he's 6'8" and thinks he's D Wade.' LOL Also good to see I got some QB in my head. :)

Pity to see this on hiatus but it's good. Give you more time for you to focus on other things, including thinking of how to help Hammer Time win Summer League :)

Ah that's good. Good to know that we're both fans of quality ballers. :) Darko, AMMO... not sure if you share my liking of Kwame though.

I never said he think he's D Wade, just that he idolises him

You don't have "QB" in your head at moment. Just a nice mohawk. You look pretty funny with a 5 o'clock shadow though, pretty beaten down & disgruntled with life

Multiverse idea was just a random idea that came to me. I worked out that nobody ever validates how NLSC-ers can play ball. I just have

I think the problem for all 3 were they were all drafted too high so they had expectations put on them that they could never meet. Same goes for players like Conley, who would've made a nice mid 1st Round pick. Instead, he leverages off Oden to go high 1st & now Grizzlies must play him big minutes & pay him big money to justify it.

As for Kwame, he had that good(ish) year or so in LA.

Yeah, I know you didn't say Ben plays like D Wade, I say it all the time. Well, I say Ben tries to play like D Wade on offence in real life. Thought it was funny you included his D Wade crush in here :) reminded me of real life ben haha

Image SAD END TO HILL'S CAREER

After everything that 38 year old veteran forward Grant Hill has been through, he was entitled to go out on his own terms. Early in November he publicly announced that this season, his 17th in the league, would be his last. It comes as sad news that today, on the 21st January 2011, Grant Hill tore his MCL and will miss the rest of the season. Haunted by injuries that derailed a potential Hall of Fame career line, it just doesn't seem right, even if some might think its fitting, that he leaves the game limping out the back door.

Grant Hill's career stats: 883 games at 17.7ppg (15,629 points), 6.5rpg (5,740 rebounds), 4.5apg (3,974 assists), 1.3spg (1,148 steals)

Grant Hill's career highlights: 3rd pick 1994 NBA Draft, 1995 Rookie of Year, 1995 All-Rookie 1st Team, 1 All-NBA 1st Team Selection (1997), 4 All-NBA 2nd Team Selections (1996 & 1998-2000), 7 All-Star Appearances (1995-2001 & 2005)

Still has so much leaping ability even at his age right now IRL. Pity virtual Grant got hurt like this. Hoping this isn't a jinx for real life! Still gotta see Kobe hit a few more crazy jumpers in his face

Image WE HAVE A TRADE

Frustrated by his subpar play since joining the team on a brand new 4 year, $16 million deal, the Minnesota Timberwolves sent point guard Luke Ridnour and centre Kosta Koufos to the Houston Rockets for forward/centre Jordan Hill and point guard Stephon Marbury.

I don't think Minnesota sport fans thought they would ever see Stephon Marbury back in a T-wolves jersey, but that is all hopefully water under the bridge now. Marbury will assume the starting role until Jonny Flynn is fully healthy. Interestingly enough Marbury will pay with cousin Sebastian Telfair for the first time in his career, with the latter backing up the former. Once Flynn is back, the cousins who are both on one year deals (Marbury's has a team option for second year) will battle it out for the right to be the team's backup point guard.

The prize however for the T'wolves is bigman Jordan Hill, whom many have labelled a bust, but hasn't been given a proper chance to show his true ability. He will get that chance in Minnesota, where there should be plenty of backup minutes available at the power forward and centre positions. What, if anything, that Hill does with it is another story.

For Houston, after dealing Kyle Lowry earlier this season with Shane Battier to the Warriors for David Lee, the Rockets have since been lacking a back point guard to push Aaron Brooks. They now have that in Luke Ridnour. They also got rid of free agency signing experiment Stephon Marbury, who had turned into a team cancer of late. Finally they picked up Kosta Koufos, who is really just insurance behind Yao and Brad Miller.

Projected Rotations:

    Houston: Yao/D.Lee/C.Budinger/K.Martin/A.Brooks/L.Scola(6th)/L.Ridnour(7th)
    Minnesota: D.Milicic/K.Love/M.Beasley/W.Johnson/S.Marbury*/M.Webster(6th)/C.Brewer(7th)

    * Will be Jonny Flynn once he returns from injury
