using hinrich's experience over ford is weak and i don't buy that excuse for a minute. i remember ford being the staring pg for 2 years for a very talented Texas team. hinrich played sg his last 2 years on kansas.

there are reasons why ford doesn't get as many minutes- he's a liability to the team in close games- he doesn't have an outside shot and he is outsized by every pg in the NBA

i puke when i hear someone say potential. chandler has the potential to be better then brand, but he hasn't come close to smelling 20/10 in his 3 years as a bull

shit, imagine if hinrich played with a consistent perimeter threat like redd, let alone with real nba talent, his assist numbers would go through the roof.

btw- hinrich leads all rookies with 12 doubles doubles and already is one the better defensive PG's in the league

I do like Ford better probably(mainly because i like the bucks) but you gotta give all the props to Hinrich.
Hes played great as of late and could turn out to be a real good player in the NBA.
and along with the 12 double-doubles, dont forget the fact that hes the only rookie with a Triple-double this year, yes he even got one before Lebron.

Ford is a liability down the stretch of games for the simple fact he cant shoot, thats why damon jones has been so vital to the Bucks success also, coz he distributes and knocks down most his shots(i know coz its like this in my dynasty lol)

why is the age factor weak? 3 years is a long time -- what im trying to say is that ford can develop to become a better player at age 23 than hinrich currently is at age 23. age matters -- were you as smart 3 years ago as you are now? were you as strong? ford will essentially be learning what hinrich learned in college at age 20 in the nba.

i know that potential is a very overused notion, but professional gms and scouts in the nba draft according to it, and i dont assume to know better than they do. way back when a lot of people wouldve picked pierce over dirk after comparing their rookie seasons -- i think most people would pick dirk over paul any day today. or look at jermaine o'neal, tmac, kobe, garnett, rashard, randolph, etc. etc. etc. these were all players with 'potential' who didnt come out exactly shooting. i know that the majority of times players who dont contribute right away never do (at least in the way intended), but there is also many times when they do which is why many teams are patient with development of 'potential' players.

look at it this way -- if you are a team without a superstar and you're going into the draft or making a trade do you pick the safe choice and get somebody you know who's going to contribute right away, but who's contribution is probably already levelled out, or do you take a chance and go for the superstar? and maybe that player wont become a superstar, but you're not going to win a championship with just a good player anyway, so basically either way, you're gonna lose-- might as well lose with the chance of one day winning, right?

anyway, i know that my logic can be faulted and understand that there are some out of the box good players who can become superstars too -- but those are very very rare (shaq, duncan, iverson maybe though he developed a bit too).
