After scoring a career high 62 points on Thursday, Orlando Magic star Tracy McGrady says he also wants to score 100 points -- and score with 20,000 women.
“It'll happen before I retire,” McGrady said Saturday.

T-Mac indicates to the crowd how many women he’s slept with so far today.
McGrady is interested in reaching and surpassing the records set by NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain -- both on and off the court.

The 6-foot-8-inch shooting guard says he’s never had problems with the ladies, often bedding five or six a night.

“They don’t call me T-Mac for nothing.”

Being serious for a moment, it probably wouldn't be impossible for T-Mac to score 100 points in a game, given the opportunity. I believe that most of the dominant offensive players in the history of the NBA could score 100 points or more given the same opportunity as Wilt Chamberlain. It would probably be even easier now that the NBA has the three point shot, as players like T-Mac can knock down 4 or 5 threes on a good day.

I'm not knocking Wilt or the achievement, but I feel that other great scorers could make 36/63 field goals and 28/32 free throws, if they were given that many attempts. But these days no one player is going to be allowed to take 63 shots. Individualism and one man shows are still alive and well in today's league, but not to that extent.

The fact that no player will get the opportunity to attempt enough field goals to score 100 points in one game is the main reason we probably won't ever see it happen again. That doesn't make Wilt's record game any less special, but to suggest that no other player would be capable of doing so given the same opportunity is to misunderstimate the many great offensive players in the history of the NBA.

As for Wilt's other record that can probably be broken, but by people in a different industry. :wink:

In the original artcle he said he want to get to 70+,
speaking about shot attempts, Kobe last year got 47! which is not 63, but!! u know what i mean!!

but just the fact that no ONE ever score more then 71 exept wilt, tell u something. I dont think the D today would allow someting like that. PLus at that time Wilt was the BIGGEST on the floor, and getting his shot off was easy as anything. for T-mac whoc is 6'8 or what ever, its not!

David Thompson scored 76 back in the 70s and David Robinson scored 71 back in 1994. But I know what you mean - there haven't been too many 70+ point performances.

whoever scores 100+ pts needs to go to the charity stripe at least 30+ times... and only player who MAY shoot that many ft's in a given game is shaq, IF the other team employs haq-a-shaq. if i remember correctly chamberlain shot over 30+ ft's and made nearly all of em when he scored 100. basically, u cant just score 100 pts by only knocking down fg's. that would be at least 45 fg's made... not possible.

and dont bring up high school 100 pt scorers. high school and nba are day and night. it just doesnt happen in nba.
