I know man, as I said, maybe the Bulls were the losers in the deal, but I considered they already had a lot of SFs... (Bogans, Johnson, Korver, now RJ and Simmons)... About the text, I will reduce the recaps... IMO, the size of the text gets too big after 95... thanks man :)

Yeah... he was the main backup for Manu, so I need to rely on Gary Neal and Temple now.

A couple of episodes of Parks & Recreation, a little nap and then Hornets @ Spurs...

I'd get rid of like 80% of the writing in the game recaps and replace them with videos like the one against the Pacers, that was sick. How did you record all that stuff?

Duncan, Maggette post big games; Spurs take down Hornets
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (NOH :: SAS)

SAN ANTONIO, October 30 -- Nevermind that the New Orleans Hornets began the night leading the Southwest Division, nor that their division rival San Antonio Spurs entered as the NBA's hottest team following a 29-point triumph. The Spurs took off giving furious chase in the first half and easily cooled off the Hornets in the last period, 91-71. Tim Duncan scored 10 of his 15 points in the first period, when the Spurs made 10/15 shots on the way to a 23-16 lead, and reserve guard George Hill took the scoring in the third period as Manu Ginobili became the 2nd Spur in as many games to get an injury; a lower back strain, the same exact injury James Anderson suffered 3 days ago against Indiana. “We were so on edge. We knew coming in that they've been playing really well,” said Spurs sophomore DeJuan Blair, who scored 12 points and grabbed ten rebounds for his first double-double of the season. “They defend the ball, and they're in our division. They came here undefeated, and we wanted to come out and handle our business. I think it made a big difference us jumping in early.”

Duncan drilled 6/13 shots, adding a game-best 17 rebounds, a block on David West (10 points) and a steal, as San Antonio improved to 2-0. Corey Maggette had a game-high 17 points to go with four boards and four assists, and Hill went 5/10 from the field (3/4 from 3-point territory) to add 13 points off the bench, all in the second half after Ginobili's injury. Spurs owner Thierry Tirieux liked what he saw, and said afterward that he's been liking more and more of what he's been seeing in this first week of the 2010/11 season. “We played like we normally play,” he said. “We executed pretty well, we moved the ball and we found the open man a lot of times, and then the shots were going down. We were able to carry it through the whole game. We've had quarters and halves like this in past seasons when we couldn't carry it through, but tonight we did. Everybody that stepped on the court played well. I've talked with Gregg and we are pondering about signing a guard after both James and Manu went down to the injury list.”

New Orleans missed small forward Peja Stojakovic, who did not return after spraining his left ankle in the first quarter. The Hornets made only 6/18 shots in that first quarter, and just 5/21 in the last period where San Antonio posted a 14-2 run that sealed the contest, but Hornets leading scorer Willie Green (13 points) wasn't in the mood to credit the Spurs after posting 24 points. “They didn't have an affect on nothing we did. We just came out tonight and we played terrible basketball. Defensively we didn't rotate, we didn't help out in defense.” Hornets coach Monty Williams added, “We didn't play as a group today. I did a bad job. We took bad shots and 3-point land didn't exist for us tonight. That's incriminating.” Chris Paul had 12 points and 9 assists, while Tony Parker couldn't find his shooting touch and shot 2/11 for 8 points and seven dimes.

Thanks man. :) But you only have 1 story on the forums (excuse me if you had another one and I didn't see it!) and you played until the Finals. I have 48 (more or less) and I reached 20 games. :shake:

Houndy wrote:Theirry just has too much time on his hands... hell, I haven't even been able to make an update...

It's 3 hours a day I save for myself... 1 hour to play the game, then editing the video and upload it, then write the recap and post  Then watch some episodes of my fav series...

mp3 wrote:To be fair Thierry has had a lot of practice but iam say it was 40% talent 50% skill 10% perseverance

A LOT, A LOT of practice  With 50 tries, only 10% perseverance? Wow, thanks. :cheeky:

Jae wrote:I'd get rid of like 80% of the writing in the game recaps and replace them with videos like the one against the Pacers, that was sick. How did you record all that stuff?

Edited the video a little and added some music. I used Fraps, if that's what you mean. Seriously, I have an awesome PC my dad built from scratch for me and I get to play the game at all maximum settings, Fraps would reduce the FPS at half, around 30, I can still play with no major flaws (and I have a 1TB disk to save the movies and then edit). To get an idea, all those pieces of the video (the quarters, the game reel, the POTG and some other small vids) take around 5GB. When I end up editing it goes down to, maximum, 100MB. YouTube takes around 30 minutes to upload it and in the meantime I write the recap.

Bulls roster has Bogans at G-F, that's why I counted him... I saw Johnson at SF most of the Bulls game I could see on TV... and of course Deng >>>>> RJ+Bobby, but well...

Lol no, 95 is small, but for the recap layout I use, 100 is too big; 100 is the size of a normal post. So I used 95. Made the recap a little smaller. No more team-killing trades, I promise at least until February :D

Any FA's you guys wanna postulate for a signing? With both Manu and Anderson out, I was considering signing a guard to a 10-day contract (looks like that option is off the game, but I would sign him and then waive him after 2 weeks). Iverson is gone.

Get Shaun Livingston if he's available! He's the bomb in 2K. He always leads that PPR (pure point rating) in 2K when I use him.
Bastard always swindles me though. I get him off the FA, he performs well, then tests out the FA market instead of resigning with my team. The bastard.

River Walk Chronicles ♦ Thierry's Morning Coffee

Postby kibaxx7 on Thu Oct 28, 2010 2:55 am

Weekly Rewind N° 1 • First week of the season on the books
    nba.com/spurs/morningcoffee | October 31st, 2010

    Image
SAN ANTONIO -- Welcome to the latest installment of my “Morning Coffee” blog, Spurs fanatics. I have some more tidbits here in the table for us to discuss. I'm doing a weekly report with things that happened around the league, including: in my opinion, the most interesting game of the week; signings & waivings; POTW honors; injury report and trading rumors. Hope you join the discussion!

Lee, Ellis lead Warriors in Smart's debut • The Golden State Warriors sported a new coach, new uniforms, a new logo and nearly a dozen new players for their season opener. Perhaps best of all, the Warriors showed flashes of what could be a new defense in a couple of quarters, which helped them to a 107-99 victory over the Houston Rockets. After finishing 29th in opponent field goal percentage last season, the Warriors held a depleted Clippers squad to just 36% percent shooting. “We got to our spots. When a guy got beaten, we didn't just stop,” said Warriors coach Keith Smart, in his first season game since taking over for Don Nelson on September 27. “We kept pursuing the next effort. The good defensive teams in the league, they have three or four efforts when a play breaks down. Hopefully, our group can keep developing to that point.” The game turned in the second quarter, when Houston went 7/22 and the Warriors' starters took advantage to outscore them. David Lee exploded for 30 points and 10 rebounds in this Warriors debut, shooting 12/13 from the field, and Monta Ellis added 30 of his own to go with six boards. In the return of Yao Ming (16 points, 13 boards), Aaron Brooks led the Rockets with 23 points.

The Answer, Utah agree on terms • Following reports from the Turkish media, that Besiktas could be close to sign Allen Iverson for the upcoming season, the former NBA star, one-time MVP, put a finish to that talk by posting on Twitter he agreed on terms with the Utah Jazz and would be signing a 1-year, full Mid-Level Exception deal (around $5.76M). A newspaper from Turkey said both parts were negotiating the last details of the contract that would bring Iverson for the first time to Europe, but Iverson said that was “a big lie”.

Players of the Week • The Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade and the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played October 26-30, the tipoff week of the season. Wade led Miami to a league-best 3-0 week, which included wins over the Celtics, 76ers and Magic, scoring 25.0 points, to go with 5.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per contest. The Lakers posted a 0-2 week behind Kobe, who scored 35.0 points in the week. Bryant's 40-point effort on October 27, in a loss against Houston, marked the first 40-plus point effort of the season.

Injury bug strikes early • Destructive injuries have already hit the league as Indiana's Jeff Foster, Clippers' Eric Gordon and Miami's Udonis Haslem were the first to fall. Pacers forward/center Foster will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair a torn patellar tendon in his left knee, the team announced today. Foster, who suffered the injury in a team scrimmage before the season opener, underwent an MRI exam that confirmed the diagnosis and will miss the entire season. Today, an MRI examination has revealed that Clippers guard Gordon has a right hamstring tear that will sideline him for about 6 to 8 weeks. Things are looking good for the Clippers as they are 2-0, but Gordon was a big part of it averaging 17.5 points and the team's immediate future is uncertain. Heat forward Haslem will miss at least a month of action after breaking bones in his back when he fell while after a dunk, during last Friday's game against Orlando. Initial X-rays indicated no serious injuries, but Heat medical staff said later tests found transverse process fractures of the second and third lumbar vertebra of Haslem' spine. Sorted by injuries with most duration, here you can check the full injury report.

Team's trading blocks showing intentionsJonas Jerebko has heard the talk, pondered the rumors about him being the focus of a possible trade away from the Detroit Pistons. The Dallas Mavericks and most recently the New Jersey Nets have been rumored to be interested in dealing for the forward from Sweden. Jerebko is coming off his rookie season in the NBA, where he averaged 9.3 points and 6.0 rebounds and earned 2nd All-Rookie Team honors, so the idea of him being the focus of a possible trade is somewhat unsettling to him. Asked if Pistons management has given him any assurances about not being dealt, Jerebko said he doesn't know how much he can really talk about it, but they had good practices today and are working really hard; the Pistons are 1-2. Kings general manager Geoff Petrie doesn't try to shoot down the rampant trade rumors about forward Carl Landry, nor does the former Rocket sing a nostalgic song about wanting to play in Sac-Town until he retires. He says he's 50-50 and he's surprised to be in trade rumors, despite some reports that say the team has shopped him around for a couple of weeks. Rumors point to Charlotte and Denver making offers to acquire Landry, who leads the scoring and is 2nd in rebounding for Sacramento.

In other news, Thunder forward Serge Ibaka and Magic offseason signee Chris Duhon appear to be in trade rumors as well. New Jersey seems to be interested in Ibaka despite just acquiring Troy Murphy and drafting Derrick Favors, while Indiana, in lack of power forwards, wouldn't hesitate to strike a deal for the forward from Congo. Now, does Duhon expect to get traded when December 15 comes? Duhon said on press conference that he doesn't know what the future has ahead for him. All he can do is prepare for today, prepare for the best and for the worst. The worst could be getting dealt just after five months in Orlando, as he signed with the team on July 8.

Thanks man. It was a nice win, I must admit I switched the difficulty to All-Star at halftime. A real contest in the third half, then Paul got cold and I got a nice run. Yes, Hughes is available, but I'm not sure on him because I want to develop Anderson and Gary Neal and a player like Hughes, I would keep him around the entire year. I'm looking for a 10-day contract... in the FA pool: Tarence Kinsey, Mario West, Kareem Rush, Javaris Crittenton.

Your Madden's look good. I'm just starting to watch football this year, so not very familiar with the rules so far. Don't want to jinx myself anymore, but I want to give the team some trophies and I don't think we can do it this season. I need some big FA's in the offseason so I can get a shot...

Shaun Livingston's with the Bobcats, I tried to sign him in other stories but it didn't work. In the simmed seasons I ran, Alonzo Gee always tests out the market and won't resign. :(

River Walk Chronicles ♦ Spurs Beat

Postby kibaxx7 on Thu Oct 28, 2010 7:59 am

Manu out indefinitely with lower back strain
    nba.com/spurs/beat | October 31st, 2010

SAN ANTONIO -- Spurs assistant general manager David Robinson today announced Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili will be sidelined indefinitely with a lower back strain, and his absence will stretch at least until November 7th. The Spurs said an MRI performed today confirmed a lower back strain and inflammation; Manu will not accompany the Spurs on their upcoming two-game road trip to Los Angeles and Phoenix to battle against the Clippers and Suns, respectively, and will be reevaluated when the team returns. The Argentina native averaged 12.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in the Spurs two games so far this season.

Robinson also announced that guard Garrett Temple would replace Manu's minutes on the rotation, with Gary Neal already replacing James Anderson's, also sidelined with a lower back strain. Temple averaged 5.0 points for the Spurs last season, shooting .436% from the field and an acceptable .351% from beyond the arc. “Coach Popovich told me this morning on the shootaround,” Temple said. “I'm definitely going to be excited and anxious to get out there and play and help the team, until James and Manu come back.” On a final note, Robinson said on press conference that a 10-day contract offer to a guard has not been ruled out. Among the names that surfaced, we could read Larry Hughes, Kareem Rush, Mario West, Javaris Crittenton and Tarence Kinsey.

Duncan, Gee, Spurs overcome double-digit deficit, top Clippers
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (SAS :: LAC)

LOS ANGELES, November 1 -- San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was almost ready to give up on his team after 17 minutes of tonight's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Instead of giving up, the Spurs scored 71 points in the final three quarters after a dismal first period where they only shot 8/24 from the field. “We set basketball back enough those first 15 minutes. It was not pretty. But from then on, I thought our defense and energy on the contest was great,” Popovich said after San Antonio rallied from a 13-point second-period deficit and beat Los Angeles, 89-81. Tim Duncan sparked the Spurs with 14 points on 6/13 shooting and grabbing 17 boards, for this second straight double-double, to go with 3 assists and 5 blocks. “We all know that one quarter isn't a full game,” Duncan said. “We knew we could get back in it if we played better defense. Thankfully it paid dividends.” The win was the Spurs' 3rd of the season, the most in the Western Conference.

With both Manu Ginobili and James Anderson injured, Alonzo Gee (14 points), DeJuan Blair (10 points) and Gary Neal (8 points) carried the score in their shoulders in the second period. With San Antonio losing 34-21, a huge 26-6 run killed the Clippers hopes. It was Gee's season-best in scoring, while Corey Maggette scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half, shooting 5/7, after a terrible 1/11 performance in the first. “I've got to say, that first half was one of my worst in years,” Maggette said. “I got it controllable in the second... and it was a new game.” George Hill, starting for the first time this season, scored 10 points, all in the first half, where San Antonio had 10 of 13 turnovers. “We shot ourselves in the foot tonight with all the turnovers we had tonight, especially on the first half when we fell into that double-digit gap,” Hill said. “It really hurt us.”

Chris Kaman scored a game-best 23 points -- his third straight game of 20 points or better -- for Los Angeles, which fell to a 2-2 record. Kaman also had another game-high, 16 rebounds, and four blocks for the Clippers, who had four chances in the final 3 minutes to cut into what was a five-point Spurs lead and came up empty each try. Blake Griffin will miss at least a month of action because of a broken toe he suffered in the Clippers' last game. Randy Foye and rookie Al-Farouq Aminu scored 16 and 12 points respectively for the Clippers, while offseason addition Ryan Gomes scored 10 and Baron Davis was limited to a season-low 8 points.

3 hours a day...you have wayyy too much time, on the other hand, liking the recaps, but you seriously want to do 82 of these? might be better if you do like weekly mini ones similar to Lamrock (Y)
