During the 2009 offseason, Golden State declined to renew the contract of General Manager Chris Mullin. Larry Riley took over as General Manager and drafted Stephen Curry with the 7th lottery pick. In the 2009 offseason, the Warriors traded Jamal Crawford to the Atlanta Hawks for Acie Law and Speedy Claxton. The Warriors had another injury-prone year, as they were unable consistently to field their ideal starting lineup. In November, a discontent Stephen Jackson and seldom-used Acie Law were traded to the Charlotte Bobcats for Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic. Four days later they signed center Chris Hunter. During the month of January 2010, they signed multiple 10-day contracts, including one to power forward Anthony Tolliver from the Idaho Stampede. Due to a great number of injuries, the Warriors were granted an injury exception and signed Reggie Williams from the Sioux Skyforce to a 10-day contract on March 2, 2010, making it their fifth D-League call up that season, tying an NBA record. The Warriors eventually waived guard Raja Bell in order to sign Williams for the rest of the year. The Warriors finished the season 26-56, fourth in the Pacific Division.
At the start of the 2010 NBA season, the Warriors fired GM Larry Riley. 17-year old HS dropout John Collins from New Zealand was chosen to take over as General Manager.

Good luck with this. GSW seems to be a popular team this year.

Thierry., the ratings are screwed so i'll have to wait for some new proper roster update
Martti., maybe. do you know a sig shot that matches well with him? i can't remember the one he had in 2k10.
z02, probably just curry. ellis seems overrated and the team is worse with him on the court in real life

John Collins made his first move as the newly appointed Warriors GM, by sending Charlie Bell to the Utah Jazz for CJ Miles on the NBA's Wednesday opening night. Bell was received by the Warriors last June 22, and since he was not being packaged with another player, he was eligible for trade. Bell was one of the players exchanged by the Bucks in the Corey Maggette trade. Both players have expiring contracts currently under $4 million, with CJ Miles' having a team option for next year. "I think it's important to keep a young core of guys that will suit our high octane playing style. Charlie's a veteran with great instincts, but CJ provides intangibles that could be essential to our team," Collins said in the latest Warriors press conference. He also told the reporters that Miles would be available to play for the Warriors' home opener against the Rockets the next day.

Miles is definitively an upgrade over Bell, so nice job raping the Jazz.

Good win against the Rockets, but I hate losing on a buzzer beater! Tough loss against the Clippers dude, and I love the presentation, keep it up

Q: With the trade to Golden State, what can you tell us about the adjusments you had to make?
A: There's a lot of freedom. So it wasn't hard to adjust, I was able to put up a pretty decent performance on opening night. For the rest of the season, I'm going to keep doing what I do best, and that is play with a lot of energy.
Q: Do you think this team will be better than last year and crack a spot in the Top 8 of the West?
A: Yes. It probably is a little deeper with the addition of [David Lee and Dorell Wright]. We're going to be fine. The team is filled with young pieces in Steph [Curry] and Monta [Ellis].
Q: Have you seen enough to say that this team has that potential?
A: I think everybody sees it. We're so deep, so skilled, in so many different places.
Q: Was it hard for you to leave Utah?
A: Yes, I thought I was going to be part of the organization for my entire career. But I understood the situation. Things happen for a reason so I wasn't bitter or anything.
Q: Do you think you'll be staying here for a long time?
A: Hopefully. I want to be here and use my skills and knowledge of the game to contribute. I want to be in a place where I can reach my potential.
