Talk about NBA 2K11 here.

I think the game itself only does that on first run. You could uninstall it and reinstall it. There might be something somewhere though you could delete so the game thinks its first run again but if it wasn't in the roaming folder I don't know where else it would be. You could try deleting that whole 2K11 folder in Roaming.

playing 2K11 on Steam won't require CD right..? lol
I got L4D2 on Steam, can I open Steam Overlay (to browse Internet & Forums see Time & Friends) while playing 2K11?
I can do this when playing L4D2, just wondering if its possible, I'll probably go for Steam version so I don't need to use CD.
Is this possible to do in 2K10?

Thanks

Yes, the Steam Overlay works with all Steam games. You can even use it with non-Steam games, but since you don't want a disc that is irrelevant.

I have a steam version of the game and deleting settings (C:\Users\____\AppData\Roaming\2K Sports\NBA 2K11\Saves) did not help. Maybe as soon as steam has registered that the game has been played the intro no longer is available..

SOLVED! actually deleting settings is only thing you should. It's just that on the 2nd run I forgot that the lakers and bulls game is after you see the initial jordan legandary intro..

You mean, it would work with NBA2K11 Box version that I'd buy from a Store because it will still activate my Steam, right?

Can anyone tell me the difference between Steam Version & Box Version? Are Files Location (especially Save Files) different?

No, I mean you can add any non-Steam game to Steam to use the overlay.

There is none. Other than the lack of a disc and need to run Steam.

Previously I hated the fact that I had to run steam to run games, but previously update support wasn't that crucial but now with titles like BC2, MW, MW2 which keep updating all the time, steams makes more sense than standalone install which requires manual update/patch download and application. Now all you have to do is run steam and all updates are automatic.

Here's my question....say I download the game from steam onto my laptop. And a couple of months from now I get a new computer. Can I move the game onto my new computer? Or redownload it? I'm guessing not, I just thought I'd ask and see.

1.) Any news on this? Is there any way for people living in Asia to get it via Steam?

2.) Can games be installed Offline if I got the Steam Version? Will I be able to retrieve the Installation Files separately?
3.) If I buy the CD/DVD from the Retail, can I still run it through Steam without using CD?
I'm doing that with L4D2, does this also work with NBA 2K11?

Thankyou

I thought I answered this already.

2. If you install it through Steam you can can set things to offline and not get any updates until you go online.
3. No, you cannot avoid any DVD-protection but can but add it to Steam as a non-Steam game in order to use the Overlay like 90% of non-Steam games.
4ish. You are not doing that with L4D2, that game is actually tied to Steam, it operates as 2K11 would if you bought it on Steam, if you didn't things would be different.

I'm not sure why this is so difficult for you. Buy it on Steam, you have it on Steam and it works like any other title on there. If you don't, you have to add it to Steam (as a non-Steam game) to use the Overlay, but it operates like the retail version.

Hey benji,
Thanks for the answer. The functionality of Steam Overlay is clear to me now.

I'm sorry I must not have been clear on my 2nd question, it was suppose to be
2.1) Can games be reinstalled Offline if I got the Steam Version?
2.2) Will I be able to retrieve the Installation Files separately?
Basically, I just want the option of being able to install the game on my other computer/formatted computer without having to be Online. My internet is quite slow & unstable. I just wanna be able to install and play NBA anytime anywhere like during natural disaster and stuff when there's no internet.

also
1.) Is it possible to get NBA 2K11 via Steam in Asia yet?
