The best response would probably be- "It's just a game, play it for what it is. If you like it, good. If you don't, then why waste your time?"

I believe most of those problems stem from the choice of animations from the physics engine, along with the technology for the rebounding and blocking animations looking like a tech demo, not a realistic visual simulation which is what they need to be shooting for. Combined with that, I think the game looking spastic is just an effect of giving control to the user instead of using a closed contextual system. You can easily make the game look less spastic(except for a few of the in-air collisions) when your acting as if you are playing an nba game and not a random game of pickup ball. I like having the option to play how I want.
Look at the comments and the youtube videos. They get mad that pass is on the right trigger and can't inbound the ball. They think there is a delay because they have to release the trigger to make the pass since you can hold it down. They get the ball stripped because they forget to protect the ball(it should be contextual anyways). Shooting hookshots from 3 point land, why? It's the same release as a regular jumpshot with the same window, I checked it in practice mode. People seem to be looking for nothing but the bad in the game, and they are the loudest. To their credit, though, there is a lot of bad. Mostly bad looking, though.

What if the entire world is actually controlled by a shadowy organization?

Don't put the blame entirely on the dev team, they only follow what the higher-ups or the boss (Peter Moore?) tells them to do.
If their bosses decide to release a game despite it being crap, the dev team can do nothing about it.
If their bosses decide to revamp or overhaul a game and release it in less than a year when it's pretty much obvious they need more time than that for the overhaul, the dev team can do nothing about it.
