Was he referring to the idea of being fearless and not letting the fact you missed a couple of shots shake your confidence? If so he's kind of got a point, though a better example would be one where the misses are ultimately redeemed by made baskets/a gamewinner.

Well yeah, but if you've airballed the last three, taking the fourth is a bad idea (particularly given that a couple of them were awful shots even if he was shooting well at the time). If there's 20 seconds on the shot clock and Shaq sets a screen for you, you do not proceed to airball your fourth consecutive three. Looks to me far more like he panicked and was just throwing the ball at the rim.

my apologies. i remember during Brand's stay with the bulls he would always be a company man & not complain. but once he left he talked about being so tired of the losing. even Krause admitted they wouldn't be able to resign him. either way- he didn't want to remain a bull and management was further rebuilding

One of the few times a player has been happy to be headed to the Clippers because he's weary of losing. Although in all fairness they had a pretty good year with Sam Cassell on board in 2006.

I'd still call it a bad trade as it was a huge gamble and probably not the best deal they could've gotten for him (considering how he was a company man as you said and not demanding out or pulling a Vince Carter) and they bounced from one rebuilding plan to the next in the wake of the trade, Chandler himself being traded to make room for one of the worst free agent signings they ever made. When you consider the context it's understandable but will still never be mistaken for a shrewd deal.

Absolutely, they've tried other rebuilding plans and they've managed to make some steps forward this offseason, at least on paper. But when the best you can say about the Brand trade is that it they ultimately bounced back from it or that it least brought in something for him rather than losing him for nothing in return, it's not exactly a stellar deal.

Philly is stuck with Brand's absurd contract for how long at what cost? What a disaster. I remember many from this forum considering 76ers as one of the powerhouse when he signed with Phillies.

No doubt, that signing really blew up in the Sixers' face. Even considering that he was coming back from a serious injury, it seemed like a good move on paper on the provision that he stayed healthy and wasn't a shell of his former self. The optimistic what-if scenarios haven't come to pass though.

yeh but that's just stupid. why not just say the same thing about Jay Williams and the motorcycle accident. if he doesn't crash his bike, the bulls don't draft Hinrich.. if the bulls don't draft hinirch they couldn't sign Boozer, Korver, Brewer
