Pro: 2 belts at the same time; name plates
Contra: Same old crappy belts

Same floating belts. Both are still small. :shake:

Yeah, that's still not quite right. Nice that they'll be able to carry two at once though, no doubt a by-product of the Unified Tag Team Championship.

Looking closely at the WWE Title though, the plates are flat!

Wow, I have not played a WWE game since SVR 2007. The graphics look badass in SVR 2011, especially that Orton screen. I'm considering getting SVR 2010 though, as I can get it pretty cheap at this time.

Hope they will bring back GM mode.

Yeah, sometimes I think they try and change things up too much when it comes to the modes. There's keeping things fresh and then there's leaving out things that people really want to see in the game.

They took GM Mode off? That was my favorite mode in 06/07. Guess I've missed a lot the past few years.

Elements of it still exist in the form of create-a-story but yeah, it was phased out.

GM mode was the reason i played the old SvRs....

Is old J.R. in SVR 2010? I remember he was my favorite broadcaster.

yea its him and tazz for smackdown

Re: WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2011

He's apparently done some work for 2011, so it'll be good to hear him in the game in whatever capacity that happens to be.

Meanwhile, this news post on WNW mentions the release date for the game as being October 26th.

Will we see legends like Trish Stratus, Dusty Rhodes, Million Dollar Man, JBL, Bob Orton etc.?

They haven't mentioned any of them specifically but seeing as they're not doing another Legends of Wrestlemania next year, there'll probably be a few legends in the game.

Great read, but still no PC release. :(

I wonder how the RPG elements go in.

Need an overview of what you're about to get into? Free-roaming backstage environments are back, you no longer have to earn your Create-A-Superstars attributes, Hell in a Cell has been revamped and includes weapons under the ring, and pretty much anything you're doing outside of the Road to WrestleMania storylines or online matches is taking place in "WWE Universe," a mode that wraps storylines, feuds and a programming schedule into one package that's always evolving and changing.

So far, so good. :)

It'll pack a more current roster of Superstars than SVR 2010 (of the 70-plus wrestlers, the Undertaker, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, The Miz, John Cena, Sheamus, Rey Mysterio, Jack Swagger, Triple H, Big Show, Evan Bourne, Christian, Edge, Bret Hart, Michelle McCool, and Eve are confirmed), gameplay improvements, and a whole bunch more.

Nice. (Y)

WWE Universe is the career mode of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011. If you don't like it and you just want the traditional exhibition matches without the suggestions and presentation, you can turn the mode off by clicking the thumbstick at the main menu.

That's a good idea. As interesting as the concept sounds, I think when you're getting used to the game it wouldn't be a bad idea to switch it off so you're not changing anything before you want to. I do kind of like the traditional approach of a contained mode with exhibition play though but like I said the concept sounds interesting and hopefully it works out. Good to hear that we can customise it as well as let the game take care of things as well. And of course, we'll have Road to Wrestlemania for a set storyline with forks and "side-quests".

Also cool: the door has been removed from the cell. The only way to get out now is to perform opponent-hurling moves into the wall closest to the announce table and barrel through the steel. Look for new moves from the top of the cell as well such as the Last Ride, superkicks and so on.

I'm actually a bit disappointed by that news. Everything else about HIAC sounds good but I think you should either be able to throw an opponent through the wall OR go out the door.

The strong grapple modifier is gone, too. If you want to pull off a big move from a grapple, you can't just hold down a shoulder button and flick the thumbstick anymore – you have to earn it by performing chain grapples via flicking the stick and pulling off preliminary moves. As you wear your opponent down, he or she is going to get groggy, and this is when you can flick the stick and grapple for big moves. Strike combos also return this year, and if you land a four-hit combo, expect the opponent to pop into that groggy state.

Probably more realistic that way but I'm kind of on the fence about that. It'll take some getting used to but hopefully it'll prove to be for the best.

Still, the biggest change on the move front? Opponents don't have to be dazed for you to pull off a finisher. If you have your special move ready to go, you can just walk over, hit the button and go to town. Of course, the opponent can (and will) still reverse your move, but the days of chasing your friend around the ring in order to daze him in order to chokeslam him are gone.

I do like that on the other hand, no more gut-kick then triggering the finisher which also features a gut-kick to set up the opponent. Hope it isn't too easy to reverse finishers, especially after you've beaten the hell out of someone.

On the whole, sounds pretty good. Even the stuff I'm kind of tentative about or disappointed by doesn't sound horrible. Should be a solid game at the very least.

Also worth noting that there'll be multiple covers this year. Shame Australia doesn't get the Taker cover.

I think I'll be getting this game. Everything I read in the preview sounds great. (Y)

Come to think of it I guess I could order the game from the UK if I wanted the Taker cover, but that's probably not cost effective. Ah well, it's only the cover.

The achievement/trophy list has partially been leaked on those SummerSlam Access thingy, one RTWM story this year is named "Vs. Undertaker" - Most likely one that you could play with a CAW as well. That should make up for him not being on the US/Aussie cover. ;)

Sounds like something that involves beating the Undertaker though. That's not what I want. ;)

That US cover sucks big time. A cover without Triple H on it seems kinda weird.

Kinda hyped for this, although I am still stuck with the PS2 version
