First NBA Live to Elite Face comparison

In live 10 you had to fast break, and run quick offense for the game to play nice, slow half court offense the game was trash, and ineffective. . .I don't know about 2k10, cause I didn't even wanna touch that game after I played the demo lol

you guys keep saying that the gameplay is better, but it really isn't that much better. live 2010 has just as many instances where you are stuck in an animation and the annoying thing is that they are pretty much the same animations over and over again.

they messed up the collision animations where you only have a handful, NOT EVEN , from the dotted line. Only when you get nearly under the rim the animations vary, but there they jus stand there and do nothing most of the time.

go through them.......you just showed a video of the stars. i don't care about the star, homeboy..........the stars SHOULD be ther otherwise the whole thing would make no sense.

go through some regular bench players and i don't mean top draft picks........just regular guys on the bench and see which game has the most faces and the right shooting animations to match their real life counterparts.

2k series has had the real life feel player to player for years.

carmelo anthony has the same dunks in nba live as lebron james does........players have go to moves that make no sense for the most part. have you seen Chrs boshes go to move?

have you guys seen the blocking in nba live 2010? the ball is like a ping pong ball. the post moves and animations are like 50% of the post moves in 2k.

rebounding especially offensive rebounding is horrible, eventhough they look good. I noticed some rebounding animations from live 06 , which should not be in the game, cause those actually don't look good.

live 2009 and 2010 don't even have putback dunks for gods sake! you can't throw alley oops to pen guys, cause the ball goes the other way. Then if you try for the alley yourself the game slows down. these are major things. you guys can't say they aren't important.

the overall dunks and lay ups are 30% of what 2k offers.

this all goes back and effects gameplay experience, cause the games become thesame.

now with the collision and the real time physics so they say.......the game will not be as polished visually. i know exactly what they are gonna do.........they are expanding on the fact that some players can get pushed back in the air or fall down and some can't, which will often look ridicilous if you slow it down and look closely. this was already in 2010, cause i ad a career highlight where lebron dunked on somebody and he fell back with his hands up when lebron hit him while dunking. this was already in nba live 2005 if you g back and check it out, you could dunk on people and see them get pushed back or fall back. i bet they are gonna use those same animations too.

i've tried to get the best out of live series for the past years, but they just fucked it up

in lives case.........i have tried to defend it so many years and was dissapointed year after year.........cause i have been playing the game for so long now and still see that they give us gimmicks.

makes no sense that some guys look the way they do here. one guy plays on 3 teams.....milwaukee, OKC and HOUS....and probably in many others just hadn't caught it.
chuck hayes looks like jamie foxx.......budinger looks like some dude on the electric chair.....sam young is joel anthony's twin brother. Carlos arroyo is suddenly 45 years old.....and to top it off........none of their bodytypes fit their real life counterparts.......and are basically all the same.


go compare the eddy curry nba live to eddy curry in nba 2k......in live eddy curry is in shape!

i prefer 2k's faces too, the video you posted doesnt do them justice since all the players have funky facial expressions while Live's are emotionless

2k has the best emotion in a basketball game to date, just sometimes when paused it looks funky (see my avatar?)

Live's just look like photos plastered on, which isnt always the best

like another guy said in the game the 2k faces look good.Some of those screenshots are just messed up.........look at KG! for gods sake! hahaha

and don't get me wrong i am not a weird 2k all the way guy, cause that game was fucked up too in some aspects, but in almost every aspect live was inferior and that to me is a missed opportnity.

they cannot go away from their current player models, cause they only have 1 year even less to prepare for the next year. They are already brainstorming about Nba elite 2012. They could just skip 1 year and redo the whole thing from scratch like they did in the old days with nba live. Look at the difference between live 2003 and 2004 and before that between live 97 and 98.........98 and 99.

Granted they were smallr games, but still there was innovation.Now it's just recycling to me.

I think we can all agree that having consistent player likeness is very important across the board, whether it be bench player, created players, generic generated players, draft picks, stars or even coaches. No matter what game it is.

I don't think either game has quite got it right, but for the most part the players who do have accurate faces do look pretty good in both games.
