Nice win over a very talented team (Y)

I'd also like to say how impressed I am with whoever put together the jerseys/courts/player complexions for this Live 06 Patch. They look absolutely amazing. I am almost tempted to go out and buy Live 06 (despite having copies for 360 and PS2) for the PC, just so I can use them. Terrific.

Good win, fine game from Randolph. Looks like you both got a big lift from your benches, Mason for you and Wright for the Thunder.

Ax - you know Steph & VC got game too ;)

megarover - they don't quiet have the supporting cast they need just yet but yeah, Durant/Wade should be killin' teams;

Wyze - the props belongs more to Andrew & all the cats who've done the bulk of the work (jerseys, CFs, courts) for the PC Project; aside from a custom Rockets court i use, i've done my own custom CFs touching up headshapes and textures that i wanted to fix up a bit more... reminds me i need to update the custom CFs i've done to the C-Mod post on page 1 soon, so the ones i use are available for you guys if you want them;

Thierry - Flash/KD would be an awesome tandem IRL i think;

dare - hahah thought the same thing after the game ;) but now i won't touch him since Wright seems to be a nice pickup for OKC now and realistically they wouldn't just trade him away (maybe if i gave them Randolph but that ain't gonna happen!);

Andrew - the bench play was almost as fun to see as the starters! i like not knowing who (if any) on my bench will step up on any given night

thx for the comments guys... some news from scout Giles West coming soon ;)

The Giles Files, Part II

Image

"A.J. - Sorry I can't make the meeting today as I'm attending a memorial service for Manute here in Turalie, Sudan. But here are the reports I promised on the five new prospects I've been checking out. I've focused on guards as you requested in our last meeting. Also a few notes added on earlier prospects; check 'em out and get back to me - Giles"

NEW PROSPECTS

Rex Sorensen
Pos: SG | Age: 19 | Height: 6' 2" | Weight: 208 lbs. | Potential: Very Limited
Projected: 2nd Overall
Visits: 2

FG 3PTFTIns. ScrDunkStlBlkO.RebD.RebPassO.AwarD.AwarDribQuickSpeedJumpStrStaTough
B???B-BED-??D-??B-A-A+B-B-C

Notes: "A phenomenal athlete, Sorensen began his basketball career later than most, crossing over from Track & Field where he specialized in hurdles and high jump… from what I've seen, he has an above average jump shot though lacks the instincts of where to be offensively… still, he's been blessed with natural athleticism that can't be taught; he'll be a lock to go in the top 5."
___

Elias Therien
Pos: SG | Age: 21 | Height: 6' 5" | Weight: 221 lbs. | Potential: Average
Projected: Top 15
Visits: 2

FG 3PTFTIns. ScrDunkStlBlkO.RebD.RebPassO.AwarD.AwarDribQuickSpeedJumpStrStaTough
?A-?D-?C-ED-??A-D?CC+C+B-D-B-

Notes: "This kid had some glaring weaknesses like low endurance, poor defense, average althleticism and shying away from contact, but he's got terrific 3pt range, a great understanding of the offense and knack for getting where he needs to be to take the shot."

___

Lee Drew
Pos: SG | Age: 21 | Height: 6' 1" | Weight: 204 lbs. | Potential: Average
Projected: Top 15
Visits: 2

FG 3PTFTIns. ScrDunkStlBlkO.RebD.RebPassO.AwarD.AwarDribQuickSpeedJumpStrStaTough
CCC-?C-?EEE??A-?C+A+C+D-A-A-

Notes: "Drew is a kid to keep an eye on… tough as nails and easily the fastest up and down the court I've scouted so far… seemed to have great defensive instincts but was pretty average everywhere else."

___

Ed Dumars
Pos: PG | Age: 20 | Height: 5' 10" | Weight: 185 lbs. | Potential: Good
Projected: Top 15
Visits: 2

FG 3PTFTIns. ScrDunkStlBlkO.RebD.RebPassO.AwarD.AwarDribQuickSpeedJumpStrStaTough
?A-B-?DD-EE?????A-C+A+D-CD

Notes: "Ed's got his work cut out for him living up to the prestige of his pop, Joe… Ed seems to have a solid perimeter shot, he has a nice first-step off the dribble and can jump like a jack rabbit… other than that? Too many question marks; I'll need to see more. "

___

Lawrence Clay
Pos: SG | Age: 19 | Height: 6' 5" | Weight: 220 lbs. | Potential: Limited
Projected: Top 15
Visits: 1

FG 3PTFTIns. ScrDunkStlBlkO.RebD.RebPassO.AwarD.AwarDribQuickSpeedJumpStrStaTough
??B???E???C-B?BDA-DA-A-

Notes: "Only had one visit but first impression is he's a scrawny fellow and slow as dirt… mad hops and decent enough defender though."

PREVIOUSLY SCOUTED PROSPECTS

(orange represents changes from prior report)

Yazid Porter
Pos: PG | Age: 21 | Height: 6' 0" | Weight: 174 lbs. | Potential: Average
Projected: 1st Overall

B+B-A-C-??ED-??BA-?A-A-BD-BA-

Notes: "Yaz is definitely a standout from the crowd... seems to have terrific court awareness, especially on the defensive end... the kid's legit."

___

Levar Wiles
Pos: SG | Age: 21 | Height: 6' 1" | Weight: 206 lbs. | Potential: Good
Projected: 5th Overall
Visits: 3

FG 3PTFTIns. ScrDunkStlBlkO.RebD.RebPassO.AwarD.AwarDribQuickSpeedJumpStrStaTough
B-B+?DD-?D-?D-B-?D-?CCAD-A-A-

Notes: "Nothing new to report, I'm afraid."

FG 3PTFTIns. ScrDunkStlBlkO.RebD.RebPassO.AwarD.AwarDribQuickSpeedJumpStrStaTough
C?C+C?D-CB+??CBD-C-CA-CD-B-

Notes: "Better offensive rebounder than I gave him credit for... solid defender, though slightly getting winded too easily for my taste."

___

Marcus Zukauskas
Pos: PG | Age: 19 | Height: 6' 6" | Weight: 228 lbs. | Potential: Average
Projected: Top 10
Visits: 3

FG 3PTFTIns. ScrDunkStlBlkO.RebD.RebPassO.AwarD.AwarDribQuickSpeedJumpStrStaTough
D-D-A-?BB-?D-D-?A-??CA-A-?C-C

Notes: "Slighter better rebounder than I first thought but still below average... downgraded his Off Awareness and Jumping grade by a 'minus'... just seemed a step off to me."

___

Eben Sweet
Pos: PG | Age: 19 | Height: 6' 0" | Weight: 211 lbs. | Potential: Good
Projected: Top 15
Visits: 3

FG 3PTFTIns. ScrDunkStlBlkO.RebD.RebPassO.AwarD.AwarDribQuickSpeedJumpStrStaTough
C+A-?DDB+E??D?B-?B-CDD-CA-

Notes: "Slightly better at steals than I estimated... lousy inside. His name may be Sweet but he's looking kinda sour to me."

Nice job defending Durant and getting the win against OKC once again. (Y) Looks like it was the former Heat players who had to keep it close for the Thunder this time around.

Good stuff! Mind if I include them in future versions of the PC Project? Faces are an area where we don't have much help, there's still a lot of players (as I'm sure you're well aware) that can't wear headbands because I don't have true conversions available at this time. :(

Hyper - thx man; yeah, Dorell Wright was nuts (made me wish i'd traded for him :( )

Andrew - thx as well and i'd be honored! definitely use what you can for future PC Proj releases; i think only Morrow, Carter and Sean Williams are fitted w/headbands in my last batch of CFs though, since i knew they for sure used them; but lemme know which players need headbands or faces need work and i can help chip away at it (time permitting, of course)

Warriors Choke On Extra Mayo

Dec 5, 2011 Memphis, TN (AP) - O.J. Mayo led a spirited 4th-quarter Memphis broadside which upended Golden State 122-116 at the Fed Ex Center.

The Warriors looked in great position entering the final period ahead 87-78 and in control through 3 quarters; then the Grizzlies decided to unleash full cannons.

14 of Mayo's game-high 32 points came in the final period as he and the Grizzlies went on an incredible scoring tear while the Warriors futilely tried to slow them down, eventually conceding a 44-29 quarter to their aggressors.

"We gave up a 9 point lead that final quarter and there wasn't a whole lot we could really do; they kicked into another gear and we just couldn't keep up," said Golden State head coach Avery Johnson.

The Grizzlies were intent on containing Stephen Curry's playmaking ability by over-playing passing lanes and forcing him to be the Warriors' primary scorer. Their strategy paid off despite Curry's team-high 28 points as he was limited to zero assists.

The Warriors, who are building a reputation as a tough, rebound and paint-controlling team since the acquisitions of big men Joakim Noah and Sean Williams this off-season, had no answer tonight for the Grizzlies 7'3" center, Hasheem Thabeet.

Thabeet's complete dominance of the paint was instrumental in the Grizzlies' 4th-quarter surge. He finished with a game-high 15 rebounds as well as contributing 12 points on 4-6 shooting and 4-7 from the charity stripe.

The Warriors will try to regroup tomorrow night back home at Oracle Arena as they get their first look of the season at the Miami Heat.

A breath-taking baseline smash capped a decent night for rookie Brantt Dvorak | Hasheem Thabeet served a vicious facial on Von Wafer

Again "THABEET SMASH!" This time nearly breaking Williams arm in the process | Mayo drills a deep trey, part of 14 pts in the 4th-quarter

You can't win when your starters have 5 assists and your starting point guard has none.

I like the title. (Y)

That 4th quarter was huge for the Grizz, and limiting Curry to 0 assists is just not cool. You should've sandwiched Mayo.

Thanks heaps, appreciate it. :) Whittling it down to the most urgent/noteworthy players who need working headband files, I'd say:

Rajon Rondo
Al Thornton
Bill Walker
Daniel Gibson
Jared Dudley
Jamario Moon
James Singleton
Josh Boone
JR Giddens
Julian Wright
Maurice Ager
Renaldo Balkman

Any help you could provide would be appreciated. :)

Back to your Dynasty: tough break giving up the nine point lead, Mayo was really on fire for the Grizzlies.

Depending which version of the roster update Clutch started with, Thabeet was a little overrated to the point where the CPU would put him in the starting five when automatically re-ordering the rosters and Gasol was slightly underrated (a discrepancy I've since fixed up).
