Question to all. Who would you want? David Lee for $10-12 mill per year or Amar'e for $20 mill per year?

David Lee--Amare isn't worth the $20mil, and while I don't know if I'd necessarily take Lee for $10-12mil per year either, the Amare cap hit is too much to be able to work around. At least with David Lee, there's still room to build the rest of the team, from a salary standpoint, and his more favorable attitude makes him a better pickup than Stoudemire.

Also, what do you make of D-Wade requesting a second meeting with the Bulls? Read:

Dwyane Wade will meet with the Bulls for a second time in two days on Friday and his interest is genuine, according to a source.

James is interested in playing with Wade, but is reluctant to play for the Heat, according to a source.

“D-Wade and LeBron want to play together, but neither one wants to commit to each other,” a source with knowledge of the conversations told Yahoo! Sports on Friday.

Chicago is hoping to secure a commitment from Wade before meeting with James, according to sources.

As with the other rumours, I'm trying not to read into it too much. It sounds promising, but then perhaps nothing comes of it. It's a bit more encouraging than Wade's earlier remarks about the Bulls, which he admittedly then backed off of.

The X wrote:Question to all. Who would you want? David Lee for $10-12 mill per year or Amar'e for $20 mill per year? I'd take the former. They both don't play defense but at least you get strong rebounding out of Lee. He doesn't need plays run for him either.

I'd probably take Lee as well. I'd be tempted to Amar'e if we're talking around $15 mil a year though, his knees aren't that much of a concern (I don't think he's had any major trouble with them since the surgery, most time he's missed was due to the eye injury in 2009 I believe) but the lack of defense and rebounding along with questions of whether he can be The Man on a successful team without a proven All-Star watching his back would be what makes me second guess that move.

What would be the point of that trade--two power forwards who both aren't inclined to play much defense?

Understandable, after having seen how Wade wants to win. Chicago obviously is a place that's attracting so much interests from Wade's fellow superstars. If the Heat fails to land a big fish, I guess he'll follow wherever he can get a legitimate shot at the championship. Right now, the Bulls look like a strong candidate for that as they have good chance of landing Bron or Bosh. If it becomes inevitable for Wade to leave the Heat, I would love to see him as the Bull along with another fellow superstar(s).

I don't really believe in that rumor about Wade, because he said it himself that Miami is the place he wants to be. Riley better convince Bosh to come or else Wade could be Chicago-bound. (My nephew would be on cloud 9, he has been hoping for that ever since the Bulls acquired Warrick and Alexander)

i see wade as a player who wants to win while i see lebron as a player after the money and money only. with that i think if wade cant get 2 other big names to join him in miami he might join the bulls as that team is prime for a championship with 2 big name additions. lebron on the other hand i think will go whereever he thinks he will make the most.

Barring a sign-and-trade, he can earn the most by remaining in Cleveland.

I do somewhat agree with your points.

Wade is willing to sacrifise in roles for the wins, but I'm not sure about the money due to this upcoming contract being the last shot at the big money for him. It's also safe to say he's an easy going guy who's relaxed and not pushy, meaning he's a great teammate and a friend that a lot of players wouldn't mind playing with. Look how he worked harder than the Miami front office, recruiting FAs. That shows his dedications and willingness to win. All that while, Lebron looks for money and sole spotlight. Of course he has wills to win, but I think his ego is still bigger than those wills. Him being young and great, I can also respect that though.

Amar'e Stoudemire was in New York on Saturday night and talked about who might eventually join him on the Knicks.

"I've talked to Carmelo Anthony that he needs to come out here," Stoudemire said. "I've talked to Tony Parker. Both guys are ready to join me if I decide to come here. So we will see if we can work it out."

Stoudemire will meet with the Knicks on Monday.

"It's one of the most historic franchises in NBA history. It's a beautiful city. Madison Square Garden is definitely one of the most intriguing places to play. So they definitely have a few great points on their side."

He was non-committal when was asked whether he was disappointed about not returning to Phoenix.

"The organization of Phoenix has been great my whole career," he said. "I left my stamp on that organization as far as what we were able to accomplish. It was a great ride. So on to the next one."

I didn't know Anthony and Parker were free agents?

I think Carmelo is a free agent next year, and is probably the cream of that particular crop. And i read that Parker was probably a trade prospect. Sounds like Amare has made up his mind about himself though.

EDIT: Beat me to half of it.

That's why I was confused. So after Stoudemire, they'll probably just sign some guys on 1 year deals to preserve their cap room for next year?

I think that's a situation where someone like Michael Redd might attract a lot of interest, since his contract is up in 2011.

Seems like Amare might not wait for LBJ to decide everyone's fate. Bold move, I'd say. That is also too bad because he was a second option to many teams after Bosh in bigs, especially for the Heat as well.

I get the feeling that he didn't get too much love calls from Wade, Bosh or LBJ, while Boozer and JJ were kept being in touch with this year's big 3 in a way or two. I can see why he comes out saying about high hopes on next year's big FAs. However, it's not like he was being left out. He was in West the whole time, while having no opportunity to build any relationship with other big FAs.

However... the idea of trio in Amare, Parker, Camelo... doesn't sound that fiersome. Who's going to D?

Plus the Knicks would have Gallinari, who doesn't play D. Although that three would be very good. Put Gallo and Wilson Chandler there too with some min veterans and the Knicks could be making some noise in the East.

A possible three-way trade of Lee-Ellis-Jefferson... hmm..

When (Amare') Stoudemire becomes official, it would end the five-year era of David Lee, but set up a possibility of a sign-and-trade to add another piece. There's been rumors of a three-way trade talk between Golden State, Minnesota and the Knicks where Lee winds up with the Timberwolves, Monta Ellis comes to the Knicks and Al Jefferson goes to Golden State. Lee visited Minnesota yesterday and it has only $7 million in cap room, meaning he'd want a sign-and-trade.
