Tirieux tries to score by force

November 07, 2010
Brooklyn (AP) -- After having a monstrous game against the Wizards, star rookie Shelton Smith had a different game against the Houston Rockets. Even though he finished 25 points, he still struggles to score over the defensive specialist Shane Battier.

“I just watch some of his games and study his offensive moves, his just a rookie so he still got some weaknesses in him.” Battier said. His offense was also a key part to their victory; he leads the team with 22 points.

Sharpshooter Kevin Martin added 21 points. Rookie Lee Davies obviously struggled to defend Yao Ming who scored 18 points.

Game Notes: NLSC rookie Thierry Tirieux started for the first time in his career. He finished with 7 points and 7 assists but also got 7 turnovers. Aaron Brooks was on the bench because of an injury and only played for a limited time.

3-3 is a decent start to the season, but you'll have to step up your game if you're shooting for the postseason. Beasley's been a solid addition thus far to say the least. (Y)

9 game recap

The Ballers suffered heart breaking games during this stretch. First against the LA Lakers, second is against the New Orleans Hornets and the last is the Oklahoma City Thunders. After those three games the Ballers fell on a 4 game losing streak.

But they eventually went on their winning ways. They snapped the losing streak against the Cleveland Cavaliers and they also went on to win against the Detroit Pistons.

Their momentum cut up short when they lose back to back against the Orlando Magic. Not a good sign as they about to start their road trip.

At the start of their 18 game road trip their first opponent is the New York Knicks. Stephon Marbury shines as they went on to win the game. The next game is against the Memphis Grizzlies where it's rookie Shelton Smith who led the team to win the game.

The Brooklyn Ballers will visit the LA Lakers, Derek Fisher will be welcome by Kobe Bryant and the rest of his team. The Lakers currently hold a 12-2 win/loss record and on a 9 game winning streak. Will the Ballers grab their 3rd win in a row or the Lakers will win their 10 straight?

I think it's the longest road trip ever.
De8 wrote:WOW! lol loving the Starbury-Smith-Beasley Combo

Those 3 are my scorers while Davies provides good numbers and Fisher/Korver are good providers off the bench.
Thierry. wrote:A 18-game road trip? Incredible. Starbury is having some really nice contests.

He is still the leader of the team and I'm used to play with him.

BTW guys should I link the boxscores when I'm doing this kind of recaps? So that you know how the others do.

Bench mobs wins it for the Lakers.

Lakers bench are a big factor in this game.

November 29, 2010
Los Angeles (AP) -- The LA Lakers stopped the 2 game winning streak of the Brooklyn Ballers while extending their winning streak to 10. Lamar Odom gave the Lakers a huge boost off the bench when he scored a team high 21 points in 23 minutes of playing time.

The Lakers bench outscored the Ballers bench 40 to 28. "When Lamar and the bench played this good we our very difficult to handle. Kobe Bryant said who also scored 21 points and the last 4 points for the Lakers.

Shelton Smith leads his team with 26 points but it wasn't enough as his team struggles to score. They shot only .470 from the field while the Lakers shot an amazing .610.

Game Notes: Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum got injured early in the first half. No one from the Ballers grab a double digit in rebounding. The Ballers never led the game.

Re: Brooklyn Ballers |Lakers bench dominated the Ballers

Mon Jul 05, 2010 5:38 am

dare, you may need to work on your defense :) . 61% is absurd and they also hit half of their 3's.

Re: Brooklyn Ballers |Lakers bench dominated the Ballers

Tue Jul 06, 2010 6:01 am

It's disappointing to see Fisher struggle in his return to LA. Your poor three-point shooting is what really held you back from getting the win though.

Re: Brooklyn Ballers |Lakers bench dominated the Ballers

Wed Jul 07, 2010 4:42 am

47% isn't bad, but allowing LA to shoot +60% is... Smith seems like a young wanna-be Jordan only without MJ's charisma and charm; but i guess he has to be since the Ballers blew it giving up LBJ so Smith would have the solo spotlight

Okay guys this will be on hiatus or mostly likely to stop. The reason is as I said at the other thread I have a job. I'm now a teacher and right now my focus is on my job.

BTW I have a lot of students who are older than me

Re: Brooklyn Ballers |Monthly Recap Part I - Team Report

November Recap

Image
Image
Team Record: 7-9|Division: 3rd|Conference: 10th

The Brooklyn Ballers went on a good start this month winning their first two games. But after that they went on to lose four straight games and then a couple of more wins and losses to end the month with a 7-9 record.

The newly acquired player Michael Beasley is showing why he deserved to be the no.2 pick in the 2008 draft. Beasley is putting up career highs in scoring (17.4), rebounding (9.1) and in FG% (.500). The 3rd year pro is surely more comfortable with his current team.

But the one really shining on this team is the super rookie Shelton Smith. Currently leading all candidates in ROY award is having a star caliber season. Smith is filling up the whole stat sheet with his 22.2 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 4.7 APG, 1.38 SPG and 2.06 BPG. Some say he is one cocky player but you can't argue with his performance.

The leader of this team Stephon Marbury is still having a decent year and his back-up Derek Fisher having a good year off the bench. Also noteworthy are Kyle Korver and Tony Allen who's doing a great job at their respective roles.

There are some questions about this team though, even if they have great players the team still can't find the right chemistry they need for a great playoff push. Morris Almond is obviously struggling after a great season last year and also Brian Cook apparently doesn't like his minutes going down.

The team have a lots of talented players, it still early in the season but for this team to make the playoffs their problem needs to be fix immediately.
