Some news )))
While working on DraftClasses, I've found one interesting thing. :)

So, the next version won't be 0.8, but will be 1.0
And in v. 1.1 (or 1.5 ?) we will be able to ADD and DELETE different Items on a roster, including creation of custom names. :) But it will require to upgrade DB-Core II to DB-Core III.

And the other news, not good for most of you, guys. So, I've shared some experience with tywiggins, creator of Roster Editor for MVP Baseball 2K10 and came to the conclusion to go share-ware and make different types of licenses. I don't want to limit the days of free trial, like tywiggins has done. But to use additional features, you will have to pay me some cash. Exact prices and more info about licenses will be published later. Still, you are free to use REDitor for as long, as you wish, and all the basic things (most of those, which are available in 0.7.2 + some new features for teams and players editing) will be available for you. This was done, because the donation system didn't work out. And it's unfair, when a few guys donate me $10-70, and others donate nothing, but use the same functionality.
"So, you are free to have basic functionality; wanna more? - pay for it" - That's the strategy for the next releases.
Still, 9-10 guys won't need to pay for the Full version. They are those, who have helped me a lot or who have previously donated.

do we have to pay for assoc file editing?

personally i think you should make it free but make the draft class feature shareware because its harder to edit in assoc for rookies, if you edit draft class no need to edit assoc for rookies.

or the other way around. but please make one of either draft class or association editable with free license please

I need food, so, I need money to buy it, bro. As here in Rossian Federation people say: "You can't put thanks into the pocket". I hope, you understand, what I mean. I didn't charge for previous versions, because they were rather "test-versions", so nearly all their functionality will be free, but as the program is improving and improving, I'm going to charge for additional functions.
As I've told:
most of those (things), which are available in 0.7.2 + some new features for teams and players editing will be free

and
Exact prices and more info about licenses will be published later.

Because I'm not sure for now about that.

Hmmm... I'm a good programmer, not a good lawyer :mrgreen: So, I'm not sure, what "leased and owned licenses" mean.
But each license will be binded to a single PC (if you change some hardware - you should send me a request for another key). And the license will have unlimited term of usage for REDitor 2K10. And it won't cost an arm and a leg, like vBulletin )))
But let me finish all the other stuff first :roll: license system is the last on my plan on 1.0 ))) So, we'll discuss that later.
Anyway, what does "leased and owned licenses" exactly mean?

owned = permanent
leased = for a certain time i think (e.g. 1 yr for vB)

john26, ah, I see, bro. No leased, only onwed.

Are you sure you won't have problems with 2k legally?

At least, tywiggins haven't got any yet ))) I don't think, I will. If I had broken any copyrights, they would tell me this before. Making some functions non-free doesn't change anything... Also, I don't think, they have patents for some file types, and I use nothing more from the original game...

it's a small amount of money, so they might not care. I'm sure they don't allow any modifications though.
Hope you'll make payment options more standard, something widely available.

I'm sure they don't allow any modifications though.

That might be about some game files, but not Roster files, because everybody can edit roster files, using in-game editor. So, it's not a game-modification, it's more a kind of "running the game with different parameters".
Moreover, I don't modify anything, I just provide others with that opportunities. ;)

Hope you'll make payment options more standard, something widely available.

Make some suggestions here, please. Because, you know, I can't recieve money via PayPal, because I live in Rossia.
I can do it via MoneyGram, WesternUnion, WebMoney, Yandex.Money or using that international Bank account.
The cheapest ways are Yandex and WebMoney, but they are not widely used in the USA. I was told, that sending on the bank account has the biggest fee... So, MoneyGram is the best way for now. Make any other suggestions...

The fee for SMS is about 100-150% :(

=====================
Draft Classes are now editable. It took me quite a time to implement them ))
Still, college can't be edited, because it isn't stored inside the file. DC file links to some default file, which includes college names.

We'll see closer to the release date, which ways of transferring money will be available.

No. What is it? :)

======================================
I've updated Staff. Looks like, some other 2K's crew worked on Staff - its format is very nice and clear: each byte contains no more, than one value, not like players, teams and the other stuff, where 5 values could be stored in a single byte :?
So, here are the newest screen-shots. I suppose, there will be no more implemented "things, which can be edited" in 1.0 . Now I'm going to finish with the Encoders and get down to the visual part.
