Best old NBA Live?

Best old NBA Live out of 1995-2000?

Easily NBA Live 2000, owing to the presence of Franchise Mode. I do have fond memories of the earlier games however.

Haha okay :)
Michael Jordan's in '98 and 2000, right?

He's in NBA Live 2000 as a Legend. In NBA Live 98, he's represented by a "Roster Player" on the Bulls.

So does NBA Live 1998 sport a full dynasty mode?
And 2000?
Today, I purchased NBA Lice 2001 and it didn't have a dynasty mode.

I like all of the series but most NBA live 2000

Live 2001 has a Franchise mode that lasts 25 years. Live 98 doesn't have a dynasty mode. Franchise mode starts with Live 99 which only lasted 10 seasons with no rookies every year.

NBA Live 98 does have a "GM Mode" though that was kind of the forerunner to multi-season/Franchise/Dynasty Mode, though it only entailed one season of play.

The games got better every year in that era, so 2000

Live 2000 and 2001 did not have a dynasty mode in console versions, only PC version. Live 2002 was the first console version to have dynasty mode I believe.

Best Live ever was '95 as it was groundbreaking. Then I'd put Live '98 behind that. Obviously Live 2000 had dynasty mode which was a great addition. I also liked Live '04 with its dynasty cutscenes & Live '05 which was the most enjoyable Live for me in last decade.

I get where you're coming from but with all that's been added to the series over the years, I'm not sure that NBA Live 95 can really be called the best. Perhaps one of the most groundbreaking but in terms of features and realism, other games in the series have surpassed it.

True. I was talking for it's time & groundbreaking ability.

If we are talking about going back & playing now, naturally Live 2000 would be the best. Talking about that, I really miss scouting reports that tell you a prospect "defends like a sieve" or "slower than your grandmother". I wish current games had that sort of humour too :(

yeah agreed on that

I think for its time, NBA Live 2000 was easily one of the best but going back and playing it now, you will find it has its fair share of issues and you'll miss progress that was has been made in subsequent titles.

I will forever have a soft spot for 98, as it was the first NBA Live title I played.

I remember playing Live 99 and loving it. I spent hours playing it. Jordan wasn't on it though, just some generic replacement. "Number 99" as he was known
My favourite part was creating players then starting a season with a fantasy draft.

It's amazing how at the time the graphics seemed so realistic, but now if you look at it the graphics are almost laughable. :)

I think that's one of the reasons I'm not as bothered by minor flaws in the graphics compared to other people. I had so much fun with the earlier games in the series and was impressed during the transition to full 3D and the introduction of cyberfaces, so a face that's slightly off or a court that's not quite 100% accurate is not a game breaker for me. That's not to say I don't think today's games should be striving for excellence and as much accuracy in the detail as possible, but I'll always be bothered more by complaints I have with the gameplay and Dynasty Mode than small inaccuracies in the graphics. It's good that we have people that pick those up though, it helps round out the Wishlists when we all put our two cents in.

The console graphics suck. Good thing for us PC gamers back then, which unfortunately cannot be said now with the recent Lives.
