I think Marbury deserve a spot on the east? i don't know.. Its werid not having him at the game...
He is having his best season probally...

Also Randolph didn't get him but he is young soo thats alright..
I was a little surprise Ray Allen got it but i'm sure he is better than Bibby and Nash..

I predicted the same team in the east .. i didn't think Brad Miller would make it.. THey already have Shaq as the backup center.. and i thought someone like Gasol or Randolph would get in instead

LeBron didn't make the team?-I can live with it but AK47 made the all-star team..wtf? I would've prefered Marion,Brand and Randolph over him.
Sam I Am made the team :D that's just fantastic :)

Rashard would like to know why he's not there. Why? (see sig for rashards expression)

Wheres LeBron? Corey Maggette(maybe in a year or when the clippers do a little more winning)? No Randolph? Starbury gets crapped on.

Not a great team. I guess it'll do until next year. Oh well, all of these guys deserved it anyway.

I know that the starting 5 has been annoncend earlier but I haven't comment on that one, so I do that now:

*I hate to see Steve Francis starting. He is not a real pointguard nor a shotingguard, he can't (or at least ain't) passing the ball nor is he scoring, in fact, what the FUCK is he doing!??!?!.

*Insead of Punk-Ass-Francis I would like to see a real pointguard starting in the west like Gary Payton.

*I hope and think that Yao will do better this time than last.

*I think it's fun and well deserved that Sam Cassell finally makes the All-star game, he has played very well, and I think he is a bit underrated.

*Brad Miller is fucking great! He is doing a bit of everything, scoring, rebounding and evan assisting. Yeah, about his assist, I don't know if he does it anymore, but earlier in this season he had more assist than Steve Shithead Francis. I would like to see Brad in the bench and Ray Allen in the throw-ins. Peja can play sg, dirk sf and brad pf

*I think it's great the non of the rookies made the all-star game. I hate the fact that they are enable to. What's the points of having a rookie game if the best rookies instead are playing in the allstar game?! Let's keep the Rookie game and All-star game apart huh.

*One more thing without being killed my Martin, Dramacydal or that asshole Sliccat, Ai should be benched so Kidd can start instead since AI is not a pointguard and less good than Kidd.

I really thought LBJ deserved to make it rather than Kidd or Pierce. At least the coaches in the league are sane and saw clearly that Carmelo is NOT an all-star right now but a good player who's playing on a deep team. I'm really happy to see AK-47 and Sam Cassell make the All-Star team.

BTW, remember how Ray Allen criticized Carter last year saying that VC didn't deserve to be in the All-Star game just before VC swatted his potential game-winning shot back in his face? How the hell could those coaches pick Allen as a reserve?! He's played in 21 games! I don't see him complaining now! Because of this fool, Steve Nash was robbed!

Agreed, lebron should be at the east, no matter how many guards there are, i know b diddy is having a great season and has to carry the load but he fell in luv with the 3pt-line and is about to become the next antoine walker, i like pierce and he has arguably the poorest supporting cast in the whole east(even t-mac and jason terry have better players around him),accept maybe ricky davis, but he hasn't played too well lately and well, lebron has just been more consistent, there is no way pierce deserves it more then lebron imho. Also im glad to see magloire and redd at the east and maybe even marbury over b diddy(but thats just cuz i like marbury).
On the west, i think choosing allen was the right thing do to, next to kobe, he simply is the best SG there is in the west, but a shame for bibby(who deserves a selection way more then nash at the moment, nash's not the player he was last season though he is coming into his own). Im also glad for the recognition of sam i am and ak-47, thus, pretty good overall job by the coaches for me(accept pierce)

ESPN about their publicity ho "LBJ" not making the ASG
Jamaal Magloire is an All-Star. LeBron James is not.

Yes....compare a guard with a Center :applaud: , thats the right thing to do....I can see it now

Marv Albert: "And LeBron James checks in for the first time this game for Ben Wallace, as he will be matched up against Shaquille O´Neal"
Just because their money making machine didnt made the team, that doesnt mean that the other players didnt deserve it, they show no respect at all for the accomplishments of other players (including a center for gods sake  ). Im not hating on LeBron....but these players deserve it just as much as LeBron, only they were in favour of the coaches. I think ESPN would rather see LeBron James as the Center instead of Jamal Magloire

nba seriously needs to consider changing the rules of picking the allstar reserves. i hate the fact that coaches have to select a player from each position. david stern needs to understand that east doesnt have any FREAKIN center (i consider benny and JO to be power forwards)!!! dayummmmmmm....

Magloire aint no freakin all star
pierce? needs to think seriously for that one
and brad miller??? like there isnt enough good power forwards to choose from the west.

lebron, starbury, randolph, marion, bibby got snubbed...

i feel for brand and maggette... maggette was feeling it this season too

Well..
I would be quite surprise if Pierce didn't make it and they put Lebron in.. seriously Lebron is good but he can't carry a team like Pierce .. The recent slump of Pierce and the Celtics made the decision harder i guess..

I think Nash and Finley are playing great but there are just not enough spots on the team...
Ray Allen making it.. he shouldn't have.. Brand didn't make it.. Allen is the 4th best SG in the league after Tmac, Kobe, Pierce.. but he didn't play enough games.. They should make it so that only players that played enough games with their conference can play it soo it will be easier on the coaches to select..

I could understand taking Kidd(no news), Baron(recent slump/injury), Redd(worst guard on the team but success story this year), Pierce(3rd best SG + recentslump of himself and celtics) over Lebron (recent surge but he still isn't that great when you watch him play..) Very inconsistent jumper and they don't really double team him.. teams don't seem to treat him as an all-star yet.

Lebron will make it next year for sure.... don't worry.. and probally the next 15 straight seasons

Well, Lebron probably didn't get it because he didn't help turn his team all the way around like Duncan help Robinson did with the Spurs. Duncan was a key piece to the Spurs' first title. LeBron is the future, but not exactly right now.
Besides, I would rather see him in the rookie game. Carmelo+Lebron vs. Yao+Amare should be interested ( not Defending each other, but as the players to look out for.)
Marbury got robbed big time. Question is, who would he be picked over? Baron Davis, Jason Kidd both deserved it I think ( both PG)
T-Mac and Iverson got in due to popularity ( just like VC did last year)
Redd has the Bucks way up into the playoff picture, a team that many expected to go like 15-63.
Pierce is a 1 man show in Boston, although they are falling a part now.
Marbury is doing great, but he has a good supporting cast I think. Houston, Van Horn, K. Thomas and Penny are all decent role players that help Marbury a lot. The coaches probably saw this and just said not this year Marbs, maybe next year!

You guys know that the NBA changed the all-star game rules soo that a rookie/2nd year guy can play in both all-star game and rookie challenge?
Yao will appear in both games...

There was this article about how Lebron and Melo might be able to do the same..

THe Bucks are 4th in the East, yes they have surpassed New Orleans and are 4th, so if Redd didn't make it something is wrong.

I'm a Marion fan, he's one of my fav players, but this year he really didn't deserve it, losses hurt your chances, and Kirelenko was putting up Marion stats (less rebounds of course) with many more wins.

http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepubli ... s0203.html

Marion is the only player in the NBA besides Minnesota's Kevin Garnett to lead his team in points, rebounds, steals and blocks. But with his team at 18-32, Marion is not expecting another invitation to the Feb. 15 game in Los Angeles.

"I don't care about that stuff," Marion said. "We're not winning. That's what happens . . . Actually, I didn't enjoy myself last year. But it was cool. Everybody should get a chance to experience it."

I think they made the right decisions, there is no one that didn't make it that really deserved to over the players that did. The only argument could be Artest for maybe Marbury or Lebron but I don't think Lebron deserved it because like Marion wins matter, and the coaches don't pick on hype. So if you are on a losing team you can make it as a starter from fan votes, but not likely from coach votes.

Also Rip and Billups are good but they also didn't deserve it over, Kidd, Baron, Redd or Artest.

Lastly people don't complain about players not making it over guys in different positions, unless it was a throw in player. Like is said in the beginning 2 guards, 2 forwards, a center and 2 throw ins, so they can't vote Lebron over Magloire, Kenyon or Pierce, and Kidd, Baron and Redd deserved it over him, then Artest is all thats left.

They wanted LeBron in the game, not Magloire. Not 'Bron as a C, but as a player. He was deserving a spot, IMO.

I really hope you aren't serious. You just displayed zero knowledge on the the game of basketball. The NBA gives the fans enough say by being able to vote the starters. It would be absolute shit if they could choose the reserves. Michael Redd is producing more than Lebron, regardless of how boring or exciting he is. If you spend you're Saturday afternoon wisely, than you'll be able to catch Lebron in the Rookie/Sophomores Game.

In a way, they are good selections. Based on the seasons they're having, some of the guys who are being touted as unworthy are in fact worthy of the honour. It's nice to see players who don't get as much recognition as perhaps they should (Artest, Redd, Martin, Cassell, Kirilenko and Magloire) get a chance to play in the All-Star game.

But at the same time, some of the selections are perhaps a little too devoid of "star power" and name recognition. Again, it's nice to see some of those guys get recognition for the numbers they're posting this season, but players like Marbury are great to watch in an All-Star game; as well as being worthy of selection.

In any event, I'm going to wait until I see the game before I decide how good it is. Who knows, it could be just as exciting without all the "name" players. We'll just have to see how the action unfolds.

I don't care! I'd rather watch Kidd throw oops to Bron, and Bron throw out MAD ASSISTS and such.

ESPN.com says LeBron got his ass SNUBBED.

The People on NIKETALK thinks he Deserves a spot on the East...

I am not good on Basketball Stats...I am only 13 Years Old...I suck at talking about Stats...Which is why I don't conversate that much on here about Stats and such.

All I am doing is Stating an Opinion.

If you people would like to see Michael "Dork" Redd then thats fine with me.

Like golveguy said, its not the people but the coaches that pick the benches. The coaches don't care about hype or any of that garbage, they look at the players impact on the team, and for Kirelenko and Redd, them giving winning records to teams that were said to be some of the worst in the league.

ESPN and Nike want Lebron because of the ratings and the money they'll make from him being in the game.

Again, winning does matter especially looking at Shareef this year, and Ricky Davis and Rose last year. If Lebron should make it then they should have too.

I feel Starbury should have made it but there was really no room for him, since Baron, Redd (helped) and Kidd have carried their teams to winning records, and Starbury was losing in Phoenix, the coaches aren't going to overlook that. The only player he could have gone over was Artest, but Indina's record is pretty convinving. I'm also guessing when the coaches picked they didn't want to pick 4 reserve guards.
