I think Curry has a smooth quick shot, he could definitely heat up and get to the Finals.

EDIT: Paul Pierce has also been invited.... I don't really know why? He's shooting well this year, but he's a career 37% three ball shooter.

The NBA will likely announce the six-player field on Friday, but word has begun to circulate that Curry is in.

According to the report Andrew posted, they will tomorrow.

shit- even Jordan was invited one year so why not the Truth? he's leading the league in 3pt shooting %. that merits an invite.

He's also fifth among active players in three point attempts and eighth in three pointers.

Chauncey Billups and Paul Pierce headline a field of six in this year’s Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, at American Airlines Center in Dallas as part of NBA All-Star Saturday Night.

Reigning champion Daequan Cook of the Miami Heat returns in an attempt to become the sixth player to capture consecutive titles.

Rounding out the field are T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam invitees Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Danilo Gallinari of the New York Knicks, and the Phoenix Suns’ Channing Frye.

As promised; the remaining 2 were reigning champion Cook and Billups. My bet is on one of the oldies.

Chauncey doesn't have a contest stroke, he's more of a fast break in rhythm shooter. I seem to remember him failing to get out of the first round when he went as a Piston.

I'm picking Gallinari as well. I think he's going to have a great ASW, winning this and also the rookie game MVP.

That oughta make Knicks fans happy. But I don't think he'll win neither.

I'm picking Curry. Can't forget how he used to torch opposing defenses with his long range shooting in college.

Are you sure... Pierce's turn begins at around 6:35.

On a serious note, even though PP is shooting such a high percentage, his release is on the slow side and he'll have trouble finishing all the racks IMHO.

Ok. Dequan Cook is selected to participate. I'm picking him regardless of his shooting percentage(more than 100% below any other competitors). Says being the defending champion grants an automatic invitation. Even Craigs Hodge who wasn't available in the league was invited in 93.

And in all fairness, who says he won't repeat? It's not as though the league leader in three point percentage always wins the contest. I recall Steve Smith entering the contest while he was with the Spurs and despite leading the league at either slightly under or over 50% - I can't remember which, but I'm sure it was around that mark - he posted a very ordinary score and was out in the first round.
