Franchise Rookies (Live 2010)

Postby mortalsoul3 on Fri Jan 22, 2010 4:36 pm

Question, as an old NBA Live 2000 (pc-platform) junkie: I'm wondering whether the more recent entries in the NBA Live series have improved on Live 2000's inability to create compelling cpu-generated rookies available for draft in Franchise Mode. I always figured that Live 2000 suffered this shortcoming such that EA could sell the Simulated Draft Lottery & Franchise Mode as cutting edge upgrades on the late-90's Live entries, while falling short of the option's full potential such that the 2000 Franchise Mode would not be so compelling as to dissuade devotees from reaching into the piggy bank for Lives to come in following years. But I am a cynic.

All that said, I'm wondering whether later Lives, on through the end of the last decade & the beginning of a new have actually developed Draft Lottery features with imaginatively rendered-, potentially-dominant rookies entering the simulated Association as Franchise Mode seasons progress?

Many Thanks,
MT

In a nutshell, there has been some improvement in generated heights and skills with rookies who can become superstars but there is still room for improvement, especially in terms of generated appearances. A glance at the NBA Live 11 Wishlist might shed some light on the improvements and additions we're still asking/hoping for in regards to Dynasty Mode. :)

Great work on the wish-list, Andrew. The community's concerns are well-articulated & comprehensive in their presentation. I do hope that the propositions you raise on behalf of the Forum are brought to EA's product strategics table, during both the design & the marketing phases for the forthcoming Live entry.

Peace,

Has this petition been submitted? If not, where might I sign?

Aside: have you heard from old Aklexboom as of late? Thanks, my friend.

I'm afraid it went in yesterday, I thought it prudent to submit it along with the Wishlist as soon as possible. I haven't seen Alexboom around for a while.

No worries, Andrew. Hope the corporation responds in something like due kind. I'll keep eyes peeled for next year's solicitation for input from the Forum. Take care, my friend.

Peace,
