The Brooklyn Nets?

Postby Andrew on Sat Jan 17, 2004 5:26 pm

Apparently it isn't just a "what if", it's a "very well could be":

Reports: Nets' sale almost complete

Are the Nets Brooklyn-bound? Looks like it.

Also:

Hopes, fears loom as Nets face move to Brooklyn

Since it's been a while since I posted a poll along with a news link, I've decided to add one to this thread. Happy? Sad? Indifferent? That's the beauty of the poll.

Two teams in one location is counter-productive.

I think this should only stand to make the Nets-Knicks rivalry even stronger. I think its good for the NBA, even if its not so great for the people of New Jersey.

Look on the bright side, the Vancouver Grizzlies fans (all 3 of them) had it worse. Not much of a bright side. But hey, at least you have the NBA in your country at all.

P.S. I am probably the slowest "semi-regular" poster to get to 100 posts. I've been posting very sparingly since live '98, and its taken me this long.
Then again, i'm not counting the old forum. Ah well.
I love you guys.

Agreed

But it's not like you can't make the 30-60 (depending on what part of NJ you live in) minute trip to New York to see Nets games. It takes 2-3 hours for me to get to Sixers games.

Their New Jersey fan support is going to decline horribly.

I wonder if Jason Kidd is going to stick around. Didn't he hint at wanting out should the Nets move from New Jersey?
