Bloody hell! This sucks. My guy has to sit from the sidelines as we crumble. Come back Mr. Watson, we need you to lock down Monta Ellis :(

I feel like my Nuggets team is like the old Sonics team. Great talent but chokers in playoffs. Hopefully we can do what we did to Jazz & wake up & take the series. Damn Warriors. Easy team to hate

The Nuggets aren't playing bad. It's just that the Warriors are just playing better... it's the same as Lakers v Hornets... actually a bit different... CP3 disappears in the 2k playoffs... But Billups, Melo are playing great. Same with Smith. If anything, your front line is terrible...

And plus, I think Nuggets will take it to 7 games. :P

That's the nature of the Warriors I guess. That's why I feared them. They are capable of beating vulnerable good teams in 7 game series if they get hot, then getting swept in 2nd Round. They're even more dangerous in a computer game.

Durant Leads Seattle To Second Round

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Kevin Durant gives four Clippers a parting gift

25 Apr, 2011

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Kevin Durant made up for a quiet start in the first half by scoring 20 points in the second half of Game 5 of the Seattle Stealth’s first round playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers. Durant had 11 in the third quarter and 9 in the final quarter to lead the Clippers to a series win that catapults them into a second round showdown with last year’s NBA finalists; the Portland Trailblazers.

Durant was already looking ahead to their next opponents, “They knocked us out last season so we’re looking for some payback. I don’t even know where Portland is, they ain’t on my map. What are they even known for? Well, they will be known for losing to my team baby.” Durant also refused to reflect on the series that Seattle had just won 4-1, “What is there to talk about? It was fairly boring, uneventful, whatever you want to say about it. The fact is that I don’t have much to say about it.”

Stealth Coach George Karl then firmly told his superstar player to take his words back and warned against complacency. Durant looked at his coach and shook his head, leading to an awkward silence around the room. Karl then addressed the reporters, “I am very proud of Kevin’s achievements during the series. He has been exceptional and absolutely crucial for our side.”

Durant finished the game with 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks. The Stealth also saw a balanced team effort with four players in double figures and three more with 9 points. Jason Kidd led the charge with 15 assists and 4 steals; easily one of his most assertive games of the series. “Jason really set the tone and got the team going with his playmaking. He found guys like David (Lee) and Andrew (Bogut) with great passes and they had plenty of great looks early. Kevin wasn’t scoring and Jason carried the team,” Karl praised the veteran PG.

The Clippers, playing to avoid elimination, started the game with a 10-2 run. The home team looked in stride to keep their postseason alive before Seattle hit back at them and took the lead towards the end of the first period. A tightly contested match was quickly opened up in the third quarter as Durant led Seattle on a tear and built a double digit lead. However, the Clippers hit back with an entertaining display from behind the arc. LA was able to have three triples in a 2 minute span and took a 66-61 lead going into the final stanza.

Eric Gordon scored a team high 25 points opened the final quarter with a three point shot and Amare Stoudemire added a dunk to make the advantage 71-61. Seattle then stormed back with a 10-0 run. Trevor Ariza capped the run with a triple to tie the game at 71-71 with 7:29 left in the game. The Stealth did not look back from there as the momentum swung in their favor. Durant had two layups, Andrew Bogut added an easy lay in, and Trevor Ariza scored on a fancy drive to the hoop to put Seattle up 79-71. An emphatic windmill jam from Durant, with 2:59 remaining, pushed Seattle’s advantage up to 10 points.

The Clippers did try to get back in the game with some accurate three point shooting and even cut the Seattle lead to 5 points with 53 seconds left via another Gordon triple. However, Bogut then scored another easy bucket on the other end, and Gordon failed to take advantage of his free throws by hitting only one of two. Kidd iced the game with a three pointer with 18.4 left in the game.

When the buzzer sounded, Durant noticeably walked off the floor without shaking the hand of Clipper Stoudemire; an indication of the bad blood between the two stars as a result of this series. Stoudemire finished with a double double of 20 points and 13 assists.

Notes: The fifth seeded Stealth advanced to play the first seeded Portland Trailblazers… The Blazers beat Seattle, 4-2, last season in the Western Conference Finals… The Blazers lost PF Lamarcus Aldridge and SF Travis Outlaw in free agency but picked up starting SG Ben Gordon and traded young SG Martell Webster for SF James Posey at the start of the season. George Karl mentioned that he thinks the Blazers are a more experienced side after those moves… Game 1 is to be played in Portland at the start of May…

NBA Playoffs: Second Round
NBA Playoffs: Eastern Conference Previews At-A-Glance

Join ESPN.com’s Woody Hannes in this quick series-by-series preview to get up to speed with the NBA playoffs before they begin. Click on the links to read more about the series you are interested in.

1. Miami Heat (53-29) vs. 5. Orlando Magic (43-39)

Team Rotations
Miami: C: K Thomas | PF: M Beasley | SF: D Wright | SG: D Wade | PG: M Chalmers | S Livingston
Orlando: C: D Howard | PF: I Lane | SF: R Lewis | SG: C Lee | PG: J Nelson | M Pietrus

Series Breakdown The Orlando Magic were able to get past a Boston team on its last legs in 6 games and did not look too thrilled afterwards because an even bigger test awaits them in Miami now. The Heat are very dangerous and it will take a huge effort from Orlando to stop them. Miami just has too many weapons in their starting lineup and on their bench. Wade and Beasley are tough to contain and open up the floor for all of their shooters.

Orlando will need Dwight Howard playing like a superstar every game. He is capable of that but has not shown the consistency needed to get a series win against Miami. Jameer Nelson was a star and the superior player in his match up with Boston PG Rajon Rondo. Nelson will need to bring that good form into this series against Orlando.

“The key to winning for us,” Wade says, “Is to keep playing our game. We need to keep scoring and keep playing great defense. Our shots won’t drop every night and it is important we contain the likes of Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis.”

It’s tough to see Miami losing here. Orlando is good but not as good as Miami. The Heat are just a much deeper team than the Magic. Wade, Beasley, and Chalmers are all playing great basketball. Miami will continue its collision course towards LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Woody’s Prediction Miami in 5

2. Cleveland Cavaliers (52-30) vs. 6. Detroit Pistons (43-39)

Team Rotations
Detroit: C: Z Randolph | PF: J Maxiell | SF: J Green | SG: R Hamilton | PG: L Head | S Vujacic
Cleveland: C: S Hunter | PF: R Gay | SF: L James | SG: R Fernandez | PG: M Williams | W Szcerbiak

Series Breakdown LeBron James cannot wait to make the Eastern Conference Finals so that he can take on friend and foe Dwyane Wade. First, he needs to take care of business against a rejuvenated Detroit Pistons team. The underappreciated Pistons took easy care of the talented Washington Wizards in just 5 games. That came as a surprise to everyone, James included. That is why The King has vowed to take the Pistons seriously.

“Detroit is dangerous for us,” James stated, “They are a great defensive side and always have been. They’re just finding ways to score buckets now too.” The Pistons made trades for Zach Randolph and Jeff Green and both deals have paid off. Randolph is playing like an All-Star while Green does a little bit of everything. Much to the delight of the Pistons, Rip Hamilton has taken up his leadership role by letting his game do the talking. The 59 point explosion against the Wizards was one of the most mind-blowing performances in recent playoff history.

Cleveland understands that the Pistons are on a roll but are confident that they have what it takes to stop it. Home court advantage plus the league MVP, along with the level of talent that LeBron has never played with makes everyone believe the Cavs have got this series. Rudy Gay has been a brilliant sidekick while Mo Williams lights up the scoreboard every second night. The Cavs should have a little bit of trouble but they will prevail in this series.
